- Old rusty padlock of the 18th century restoration.
I found this old rusty padlock at an antique store. This padlock is from the 18th century. I decided to restore this padlock. I removed the rust and opened the lock. I preserved old iron. I hope you liked my restoration.

300 years old. now gonna make it another 300 years.
thanks for restoring these witnesses of history!!
It's amazing that it still works being 300 years old. Great job.😊
Thanks!
Fantastic, what a locksmith, 300 years ago, could produce. And allso that you could restore it, to show us the function.👍👍👍👍👍
Wow, that is amazing how a padlock almost 300 years old can be made to work again. Excellent work.
Thanks!
Wow, the mechanism inside was more complicated than expected. I wonder how the parts inside handle the double rotation of the key ? Very nice restoration indeed ^^
That is so cool - what an amazing old pad lock - and even more amazing you were able to restore it while retaining so much of it's character.
Thanks)
Cheers to the restoration, nation.
If you're a restorer like this fellow, you have to know when to stop. Something that's 300 years old has a lot of history that should be respected and preserved. You have to know what must be removed like the rust and dirt, and what to preserve like that 300 years worth of pitting. This guy knows when to stop.
Sandblasting will always reduce the value on antique locks. It alters the surface and removes the patina irreversibly. Best is electrolysis and some gentle cleaning and thats it. Still looks pretty good in the end.
That’s an awful restoration which I’m sad to say makes this channel a one hit wonder. All his restorations so far that I’ve watched are garbage except for the cleaver
@@pavloszimbrakos4410 I'm too humble a man to dispute such expertise.
How did he get this three hundred year old pad lock
This. Exactely.
Well DONE
Amazing😊
Looks great, excellent job!
I can just see this lock attached to a treasure chest. Great work!
@@plaguedoctor5616Misled by my virgin eyes! No way!

Very fascinating piece of history...great project. I wasn't sure you would be able to get the key out, but you handled this masterfully. Well done!

Great job there man 👏👏👏 !!! Just the right amount of resto work 👍👍👍. It'd be ace to actually see the mechanism inside working, but definitely not worth risking ruining the lock for. Good call 👉👉👉. 😎
Thank you! I didn't want to risk it.
I wonder what the internal mechanism looks like
A wonderful bit of restoration, now, you just need to find a 300 year old box or chest, and you'll have a complete historical security system! 😅
Valeu 👍 seu trabalho é show 👍
Parabéns 🎉🥳👏👍
“It’s perfect”
Good lok bro👏👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks!
Beautiful Restoration
good job!
Awesome job bro 💪❤👍
thanks!
Super
Also, when quenching something in water, move it around. It cools it down much quicker and more efficiently.
Very cool piece of history. If that thing could talk...
Great restoration, I wonder who is the person invented that lock.viewer from trinidad
top👍
Transmission oil and acetone mixed 50/50 will penetrate better with the acetone thins out the transmission oil. Just a suggestion you might want to try
Nice one squirrel. Now, you just need to restore something else 300 years old to lock up with it. Anyone got a ship's treasure chest they don't want?
Years ago, while working for the Smithsonian, I restored the hatchet that
Geo. Washington used to chop down the cherry tree.
I had to replicate the handle and the head, but it does occupy the same space.
Is what you showed all the salt you put in the water??
Looks great and you did a wonderful job restoring it!!!!
I enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
👍💪
Evaporust st first is more efficient. Nice and beauty piece.
Simple technology 300 years ago.
Great job but we expected the internal parts to be taken out to know how the lock works.
YOU HAVE TO RETURN IT TO SAINT PETER RIGHT NOW
2:48 there was a romboid decorative pattern on the sides of this lock.
curious about the system inside
👍👍👍❣
Get yourself some Evaporust my dude
Whoever it was who made that had to have done a whole lot of meditating before he even started given to what tools and resources he had to work with way back then
Thanks for not subscribing! I'm trying to block russians on my channel. What you don't know the history it is a chronic disease. I understand, 300 years ago, russia had just been created and there was no such thing, but you can look through the catalogs of padlocks and everything will become clear to you. Glory to Ukraine!
300 years and 300 likes
They must be more!
haha now yeah@@ImToGoBy

How do you know it's 300 years old?
How did he know that this padlock is 300 years old and how did he get it?
Iron made before 1945 is very expensive because it does not contain radioactive elements and is used in the manufacture of radiation detection devices. It is melted again and radiation detection devices are made from it.
That looks to be a wood chisel. And if it is, I strongly advise you don’t use it on metal for any purpose. No matter how trivial or quickly its use is.
322 years ago oh boy I asked Siri so it’s basically 300+ years old
The next time you use the cold blue, Use the most burt dirty crappy motor oil you can find You will get a better darker finish.
Probably padlock is english one. Is screwing itself in wrong direction. 🔒
This padlock has two thread directions. This is his secret)
How do we know it’s 300yrs old? Feels like click bait to me.
It's about time to change out that wire brush isn't it HAHAHAHA Looks like my hair getting thin HAHAHAHA
Why are there threads at the front of the lock?
I wondered about that as well, plus it looks like the key has brazing marks on it, also a bit dubious about the 300 years old claim .
👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👍👍👍🥃🥃🥃
I don't understand why they didn't take it apart more and restore it.
This is a type of padlock
Sorry, but what is this for?
If this 300 years old try the early 1700s
Cleaning not restoring
Im almost positive thats for locking yp your ladies treasure chest if you know what i mean look at the shape and how it locks. Its incredibly obvious that its a chastise lock..
