This song makes me think of the early/mid 2010s bc my mom worked for diamond sports, a baseball company, and she would get Angel’s/Dodgers tickets from her boss every few months. This was a favorite song of my mom's. We were listening to it, when I was little, and she said that she'd like to be nicknamed Buttercup.
One of those sad songs...when you listen to lyrics...but with a happy tune to it. Always a favorite. I enjoy the covers that have music suit the lyrics, but in those years, everything had to be something "the kids" could dance to.
