Lyrics:
She ain't got no money
Her clothes are kinda funny
Her hair is kinda wild and free
Oh, but Love grows where my Rosemary goes
And nobody knows like me
She talks kinda lazy
And people say she she's crazy
And her life's a mystery
Oh, but Love grows where my Rosemary goes
And nobody knows like me
There's something about her hand holding mine
It's a feeling that's fine
And I just gotta say
She's really got a magical spell
And it's working so well
That I can't get away
I'm a lucky fella
And I've just got to tell her
That I love her endlessly
Because Love grows where my Rosemary goes
And nobody knows like me
There's something about her hand holding mine
It's a feeling that's fine
And I just gotta say
She's really got a magical spell
And it's working so well
That I can't get away
I'm a lucky fella
And I've just got to tell her
That I love her endlessly
Because Love grows where my Rosemary goes
And nobody knows like me
Fadeout:
It keeps growing every place she's been
And nobody knows like me
If you've met her, you'll never forget her
And nobody knows like me
La la la- believe it when you've seen it
Nobody knows like me

Oh how I miss the 60s & 70s...I just want to go back.
Haven't grown up yet, eh? . . . I'm 81 years old and lived through all of the musical changes since the 1950s and am a guitarist. There were some great songs back then, but this is not one of them. I'd rate this one up there with 'Georgie Girl' and the Lovin' Spoonful's syrupy schmaltz.
I love how the singer is so certain about his love for her. You can see it in his eyes.
He’s sure Purty too! 😉
The person in the video isn't the singer whose voice you can hear. He's miming to the vocals of a famous session singer called Tony Burrows. He once appeared on same edition of Top of the Pops singing in three different bands, this, White Plains and the original Brotherhood of Man. He also sang the Pipkins song, "gimmie dat ting" and later the vocals for Beach Baby by First Class.
It's Andy Locke, who was a guitarist in several groups.
He's not the singer of the song. The real singer was Tony Burrows.

Rosemary must be in her 70s
I've probably posted all this before on this site, (can't find it now, with 3186 comments, July 2023), but.... Here's how this song was created in 1969, and came out in 1970, more or less!
The composers, Tony Macaulay and Barry Mason somehow got the song to Columbia Records studio in Hollywood in 1969. It had already been recorded in England by a group called "Jefferson" but it was either never released until much later, or it was not an immediate big hit.
Terry Melcher (Doris Day's son, producer of many big names in the 60's, like Paul Revere and the Raiders) was told "Make something of this!" I was a part time studio musician (guitar player) at the time, and Terry told us, "Make something of this!" We tried. We laid down the basic instrumental tract, which you still hear today! No voices.
Terry didn't like it! He SOLD THE TRACK to a studio in England! They tossed in studio singers, (Tony Burrows, etc) and added some violins to the track, and... Tony sang and a fictitious group was created called "Edison Lighthouse" and they put the record out! The band you see on the videos (Top of the Pops, etc) were created AFTER the song was a hit! They did NOT record the song, other than Tony Burrows DID sing the lead!
That's me, easily heard at the very beginning of the record, on lead guitar.
I never met Tony Burrows. I understand he refuses to fly on an airliner and has never been to the USA. But... Tony had a LOT of GREAT HITS in the early 1970s! Ever heard "Gimme Dat Ding" by the Pipkins? That's Tony Burrows! How about "United We Stand Divided We Fall" by The Brotherhood of Man? That's also studio singer, Tony Burrows! How about "My Baby Loves Lovin'" by White Plains? Again, Tony Burrows and studio singers! How about "Beach Baby" by First Class? Again... Tony Burrows!
Okay, enough to bore you to tears, I'm sure. I'm 77 now and can still play the guitar lead on Love Grows on my Fender Jazzmaster guitar that I used on that record!
Thats you playing that opening lead?! Omg, one of the best. Nuts about this song.
Boring? No chance. How interesting. Yes I know thise songs, most. That's the singer?
You mean the singer we see here?
I think you should play that on a u tube video! I'd love to see it
Not boring at all! I had NO idea that he was the lead on "Beach Baby." 🫢 That was a very popular song here in LA in '74. Thanks for the information.

This song evokes such happy memories! When I was 9 I used to listen to this wonderful song on my transistor radio while riding my Schwinn in Pecatonica, Illinois! Now I'm old, and sadly, I'm the last member of my family; the first to go was my older brother Kurt, who was KIA in Vietnam in 1969. RIP Mom, Pop, Sis, and both of my brothers, I love and miss you all so much it hurts. See you all when I get there.
I know what you mean ,but I’m a little bit older than you.I lost my partner of 20 years in 1990 my brother 6 weeks after. Then they slowly all started to go my little sister last year got cancer and I told her that I forbid you to die and leave me I was the older one and should go first. The little brat would never listen to me she passed away 5 months after. She had all my 45s and was cleaning up one day and pushed the box under a table and there was a register vent there all the records warped . But I have this to listen to and get to remember everyone and the great time and life we all had together. And in all that time to hear and see the music and world change around us.We have been quite lucky.I’m going to give them all an ear full for leaving me behind while their probably all dancing and having a good time with out me. Miss them all but we did have a great life and the music was part of it.
I found this because my millennial sister was playing it oh the cycle of life

I am so glad music was so rich back then! We'll always have something to listen to, music is struggling these days... very worrisome.
Thank you God and Mom for allowing me to live through such a beautiful musical era that shall never be repeated ever
I LOVE songs from the 70's. I hope people in the future still listens to music from the 70's because they are the best songs ive heard in my life
The 60's were a pivotal decade for great popular music.
Love the music of the 70s! The best memories.
I listen to the 70s on Alexa
I am Japanese. I am sorry- I finally learned about this song and GS from an Australian 10 years ago. I thought it was recent, but it was 1970. It's a familiar song that is not outdated.

Thank so much.
My mothers name was Rosemary, my dad knew her for decades, they finally hooked up and this song describes her exactly, he had such a love for her, never seen it ever again. Wow. Ray & Rosemary forever in the heavens dancing with the moon & stars. I miss my parents!
My first crush was called Rosemary when I was in Junior High back in 1970. Too bad she didn't really like me tho but that's okay. I love this song just the same.
This song brings back memories of when I was stationed with the Air Force in Thailand 1970. It was played on the radio every day.
Great, happy music. Jamming in grocery store parking lot
Iam 78 and love this song love all 60 songs and guess what still remember them all
My older brother just sent this link too me. Brings back many happy memories of dancing around the transistor radio in my bedroom, as a young girl back in the 70's.
My dad also used to sing this to me. It used to embarrass me something awful back then, especially in front of people. How I'd love to hear him sing it to me now....
❤🙌
Ahhh, you just made me cry....
I was five when this was a hit. Listened on my transistor radio. I live on Planet Dushy where it's always 1970.
1970 what a great time for most,,, you just had to be there..... and music was fun and it felt good to sing along,,,,,
Lyrics:
She ain't got no money
Her clothes are kinda funny
Her hair is kinda wild and free
Oh, but Love grows where my Rosemary goes
And nobody knows like me
She talks kinda lazy
And people say she she's crazy
And her life's a mystery
Oh, but Love grows where my Rosemary goes
And nobody knows like me
There's something about her hand holding mine
It's a feeling that's fine
And I just gotta say
She's really got a magical spell
And it's working so well
That I can't get away
I'm a lucky fella
And I've just got to tell her
That I love her endlessly
Because Love grows where my Rosemary goes
And nobody knows like me
There's something about her hand holding mine
It's a feeling that's fine
And I just gotta say
She's really got a magical spell
And it's working so well
That I can't get away
I'm a lucky fella
And I've just got to tell her
That I love her endlessly
Because Love grows where my Rosemary goes
And nobody knows like me
Fadeout:
It keeps growing every place she's been
And nobody knows like me
If you've met her, you'll never forget her
And nobody knows like me
La la la- believe it when you've seen it
Nobody knows like me

Thanks for that. It was fun singing it to myself.
I love it!! He's so thoughtfully in love!! 😍
Whenever this song would come on in the car, my dad would always turn the radio up because he knew my mom loved this song. Sadly my dad passed away in 2021. I miss him every single day.
Sorry for your loss 😢 It's lovely to have a song that reminds you of your dad. It is a beautiful song.
I heard this from the kissing booth for the first time. I felt so much nostalgia. Turns out it’s a 70’s music. Huuuge fan!
I was just a little girl in the 70's. I was born in 1968, and when this song was on the charts in the early part of 1970, I was 1 year old, and I turned 2 that August. Even though the 70's was the decade of my childhood, I absolutely love the music from that decade. "Love Grows Where My Rosemary Goes" is one of my favorites. Edison Lighthouse does a great job with this song. I also love other 70's artists like David Cassidy (my 70's heartthrob😍😍😍😍😍), The Carpenters, Bobby Sherman, The Jackson 5, and The Osmonds. Today's pop/rock music doesn't even compare to the pop/rock music of the 70's! I wish we all could go back to that decade!
We try to keep the love going. ❤

As a heavy metal fan and guitarist something about this song touched me. Great simple lyrics, everyday life stuff. Very catchy.
This song still sounds great after 52 years.
I can really feel my heart smiles whenever I'm listening to this song.
One of the most beautiful songs ever written. ❤❤❤
Someday. If I can I'll name my daughter Rosemary and this song is the reason.
🌹🥳🎂🎁😍🛐✝️❤️
Happy Birthday to my dearest sister, Rosemary!!! Have a good one! God bless you, sis. You're the best, and I miss you like crazy! 🌹
Lovely hearing the recording; beginning of 2022, I joined Edison Lighthouse (who are still going) as their first regular keyboard player - having lots of fun learning all these great ol' songs that they perform. Also very interesting to learn how the industry worked 'back in the day'
Are there any original members left? I also like It’s Up to Petula by them.
Really ? I thought it wasn't really a band but just a studio creation for this one hit. Educate me.
@@davidrichman9779 found this in Wikipedia:
In 1973 Brian Huggins and Peter Butt, of the band Crush, were approached by their management to takeover the touring of Scandinavia as Edison Lighthouse. Brian Huggins acquired the rights to the name Edison Lighthouse in 1974. Huggins has been fronting the band ever since. The current Edison Lighthouse line-up is as follows:
Brian Huggins − lead vocals (1973-present)
Peter Butt − bass guitar (1973-present)
Mark Forton − drums (2020-present)
Rick Piggott − lead guitar (2022-present)
Matthew Bason - keyboards (2022-present)
@@py8554 so this is Brian singing and not Tony?
@@deelestage4978 so the vocals on the recording are Tony Burrows. The guy lip synching in THIS video is a guy named Paul Vigrass who was the singer in a "second edition" of Edison Lighthouse that was formed after Tony Burrows left, and all the other guys were replaced. That second edition lip synched this video. The third edition, with Brian Huggins et al hadn't been formed yet. That third edition still exists and performs today, with two of the 1973-guys and three modern-day replacements.
What a classic. Inever get sick of hearing this song Always a breath of fresh air
not with the air coming down from Canada 🇨🇦 !!- LMFAO !! 🌿🌿🌿😎😎😎😎😎
Yet ANOTHER 70s classic. Love it
I am 2000's generation, but I really like this song. 😍♥️ 70's songs are so amazing.
Same here!
Just say you are a millennial, goddamn.

An old friend of mine's grandmother is named Rosemarie and I've always thought of her whenever this song comes on. She's about 93 years old and still sharp as a tack, and I hope she gets to hear this song many more times!
@lelandunruh I have a cousin named RoseMarie and this song always reminds me of her
