YFZ450 WR450 Hybrid Troubleshooting the WR450 Kicker Turns the Starter

- So it's finally time to get this WR450 opened. This is my first time digging into it so I'm not sure what we will find. So far, I question whether a couple of bolts were factory. Not sure of the condition of the magneto, stator, one-way bearing, or the starter. But we have to get this fixed, to get the dream quad complete. So let's get it rolling.

Got a 08 wrf450 the other day, my starter's output shaft has gears sheared off. hopefully it's a simple replacement and she works well.

Mine did the same, it shreaded the shaft teeth on the starter
I have this problem when i kick it it turls the starter. What did fix it for you? New one way bearing?

What size fly wheel puller did you use I tried using a 33 but it won’t work
I believe mine was a 33 as well. Right hand. Make sure you have a right instead of a left-hand thread.
You need a starter clutch. That's all.
Opened mines up and my gear is moving a different way then yours is it in wrong ?
Does it move both ways? It should not.
@@juicer911 no just moves to the left and not to the right like yours does
@@ayotay9228 maybe the years are different and there is some differences in rotation. I thought miming was backwards at one point but the motor turns over GREAT!
@@juicer911 mines is a 05 when I go to kick it it’s not moving but when I take it apart it’s moving fine I think it’s in backwards guy said he (think it’s in backwards ) I have the same problem you had starter moves when you kick it
