- Hello! In this video I show my experience in traveling with my drone DJI Mavic Air through the Philippines in February / March 2019.
I had no problems with it until I got to Boracay, where I got fined 2500PHP.
No problems on planes, security, customs, ferries etc...
Remember, to fly a drone in Boracay and the Malay area, you need a permission from the CAAP:

nice tip! i just been told the same about the no fly zone on White Beach here. Only with a pro permit for 50k pesos is legal plus permit. but you can always try make a quick video at some other place ;)

So I'm planning on taking my 249gram mini drone, 2 go pros, Canon camera and my ps4 to Manila in 2 weeks..... What should i put on the customs declaration? I don't want to pay crazy az fees considering this is just my personal property and not for sale or anything.

I read in bohol at the chocolate hills you can't fly a drone either, did you get permission or something to fly it there? if so what was the process
Hello there. Thanks for the comment. You are right, you cannot fly from the top of the hill which is visitable by tourists. But I flew from the road and had no issues. Hope ut helps.

DJI has a Geo map that warns you for nearby airport, didn't you get a warning that you are within Caticlan Airport?

There appears to be confusion about whether you can fly the drone as a tourist or not. You mention the airport regulations, but some people are saying you just need a permit. Then I've seen other videos saying that the permit is for special functions (like shooting weddings etc.) not for personal use. Does anyone know for 100% sure?
I actually had no idea of any of this the other day and whipped out my drone on White Beach. Flew it for 30seconds before getting it chased down by some birds protecting their nests in the coconut trees from predators 🤣 Had to fly it straight back. Blessing in disguise!

Four or five years ago, I was flying my drone in station 3 and I got stopped from flying because I need to get a permit at the mayor's office. I'm not sure how much I paid. So the following day, I went and paid in order to fly my drone. So I got my permit and started flying again. But then these government watchers keeps interrupting me and asking for my permit. I should have glued the damn permit behind my back so I can concentrate operating the drone in a safely manner. It's a damn nuisance. I wasn't even flying far away and probably just flying above the coconu trees. Oh and the permit is only good for 24 hours back then. So another money making scheme from the local government 😂😂😂. Drone shots from youtubers put Philippines in the map. Remember that Big Brother.
