Target Time: Platinum = 3:10:00 -- Gold = 4:30:00 -- Sapphire = 7:00
My Time: 3:46:59
You need the Stormy Ascent DLC (also known as Lost Treasures DLC) from PlayStation Store to play this level. You can then select it on top of the tower on the third island (above "The Lab" level).
It's a very long and challenging level. The time for gold is more than generous but it's gonna take a bit of practice to beat it without dying (there are no checkpoints, so if you die the level restarts from scratch).
You must have beaten this level once to unlock the time trial.
1) At the start, wait for the stairs to go flat before picking up the stopwatch.
2) Jump up the stairs (easy)
3) When you encounter the 2nd scientist, jump on his head immediately to be boosted up the elevator (saves time)
4) At the top pick up the time crates. The next section is relatively easy.
5) Eventually you come to two sliding platforms and a bunch of platforms spinning in circles. This part is very time sensitive and it's easy to die here if your timing is off. Better wait and let the platform slide 3-4 times to time your jump. It's better to wait here than to die.
6) After the next scientist you must jump down several stairs with spikes around them. You should have at least 1 Aku Aku mask left (at best you'll have 2 by this point). The last set of stairs is a bit tricky so if fail the Aku Aku mask will save you. If you get hit by spikes just keep running downstairs, you can't take damage for a short period of time after getting hit.
7) Immediately after the aforementioned stairs there 3 sliding platforms. You'll want to use a high jump to get from platform 1 to 2 (hold down X). From platform 2 to 3 the low jump (tap X for a short moment, don't hold) worked better for me.
8) When climbing up the tower there are fast platforms coming out of the walls. Make sure you don't hit the spikes. It would be ideal if you have 1 Aku Aku left by this point to save you.
9) Once on top of the tower, let the scientist throw goo until there's an opening to jump onto the moving platforms.
10) There's a very tricky part near the end with two platforms coming out the wall simultaneously. Jump on the first just as it comes out the wall. Then stand on it until the last possible moment (let it slide under your feet) before jumping onto the next one.
11) Last tricky part is the 3 birds. Jump on the first bird just after it hits the wall and starts moving away from you. Timing is extremely important here.
Practice the last checkpoint until you can do it perfectly! The last section is by far the hardest and has no room for error.

@@kilanifamily5604 Just gotta study the obstacles and count on your nerves, play the level with 99 lives dividing it in 3 checkpoints, do a checkpoint 5 times without dying then move to next, once you beat the level like this you have great knowledge of it

I had a really super difficult time getting the gold relic in Stormy Ascent. It’s not really an opinion that this level is super hard. It’s a fact. Now that I’ve played this level, the difficulty is far worse than Slippery Climb. But in the end, it was all worth it.
It took me four hours and a half before I got the Gold. That loading screen tip is absolutely for the time trial, you can't convince me otherwise.
I got 3:09 after 4 hours of playing , got extremely lucky because the platinum time is 3:10 😓
Finally got the platinum... do I want to go back and rip my hair out doing this?

I had every achievement on this game except for the gold or platinum relic on this level and it stopped me playing it for years. I came back to it a few months back and finally just now I’ve got gold finishing it on 3:43🥳
I'm just now coming back for this trophy after 5 years because it bothers me not seeing 100% next to one of my favorite games 😅 pray for me

@@jeremybottoms7619 I remember this taking some hours to do, but I just put on atmospheric music to help me focus and got to work mastering each section of the level. I thought the entire process was quite fun and worth it.

I just finished this for the plat and for anyone still struggling with this here is a few things I learned for the stairs at 2:10 for the bottom one. If you go all the way to the edge and not by the wall and start running backwards you can actually get by it without getting hit, also I very much recommend TAKING YOUR TIME they give you enough time for gold so use that to ur advantage and for the birds at the end I normally would wait about 2 to 3 cycles before i jump. Hope this helps

I know I'm 5 years late to the party but I GOT IT! I feel like I should get a t-shirt or something.
In pc version steam I figured that sometimes you can use damage boost when you grab Uka mask, for real it saves a lot of time and the 4 min mark turns a piece of cake the next big deal is not dying.
Let's go!!!! I just got this in 4:24 to unlock my last 3 achievements and 100% Crash 1. I skipped doing both the gem and relic on Sunset Vista because there are 27 levels but you only need 26 for the achievements, so you can skip a level. But there are specific achievements for the gem and relic on Stormy Ascent, so may as well do this and skip a different level if going for 100%

@@Rafa___030 it's the last level of the game at the top of Cortex tower. Above 'the Lab' level on the N Sane trilogy. It was extra content on the original apparently as it was cut from the original game

I keep stucking in the walls if I stand too close to them.
He's a god for doing that section and not losing a mask, I always get hit on that last spike jump and try to save a mask just to damage boost that part
U got lucky on that bird. But really well done. This level is no joke. Im dreading trying to get at least a gold in this.

Right where those two boxes were at the end of the level, I died. The fuckin bird tricked me. I stood there and felt like crying because I made such a huge progress to getting towards the end and I died

Thanks for the video, very helpful, after 2 hours of attempts I was able to get the gold relic and the last trophy I needed. I suggest also to try all the sections in the normal mode, before the time trial, but seriously that's the fucking hardest lvl of all.

High road is quite simple if you manage to bounce of the lines. Got platinum there and trust me, I'm not a gamepad ninja ;)

3:01 saw million walkthroughs but i can NEVER get there without penetrating my ass with or dying i play dat relic everyday cuz i wanna get over this i can't do it idk what to do anymore
Maybe you have made it until now, something that worked for me is when I am in the middle of the route of these jumps (upper left platform) i make a jump on the same platform and its like resetting the positioning I have, made it a lot easier
Finally got the gold relic after 8+ hours of trying. 🥵🥵😅 I have died 3 times at 3:52 and 1 time in the last part with the 3 birds. I failed the jump from the last bird which almost tore my heart. #NeverGiveUp 😎
I went from about 71 to 11 lives to get the gem of this fucking level. It is insanely hard, but maybe the high road is even harder. I think i needed much more time to beat it.
High Road is not hard just run on the ropes 100% of the level and you do 1.00.00 easily can be slippery but works like a charm and you do not need to be scared of any enemy.

The creator of this level needs to be put into a mental institution. What dark thoughts were going through their mind when creating this god forsaken hell loop. Just spent 2 hours of pure frustration and am yet to complete it. Furthest I’ve got was the LAST JUMP FROM THE LAST BIRD!

It was getting to the birds I had trouble with. A couple sections where I had to make myself take it a little slower.
It can be done almost without stopping but it requires crazy timing and you have to be exceptional at the game. Just finishing it all in one go is bad enough.
