    Why is everyone being so mean about her microwave???? Sometimes and especially if you have kids, you can’t have everything perfect and sparkling clean.

      My mom had 5 kids. She kept our house pretty clean but the microwave was always the first thing to get trashed. Us kids didn't cook but we knew how to make hot pockets. People just love to judge because they have nothing better to with their boring lives.

    Tried it with white vinegar and a couple squirts of the green dawn. Left it around an hour. Used a brush with very little effort. Dirt came off my ceramic tub extremely easily. No more than 3 minutes with the brush. The vinegar did smell and had to hold my breath although the window was wide open. Normally I would have to use the powdered comet and scrub like no tomorrow. The other spay bottle cleaners like tilex did nothing.
    Thank You for your video. Now I wont let my tub get as dirty as it was because this was so easy do do.

    I moved in a place that the tub was the same way. Dingy and hard to remove stains it was actually porcelain but this trick may work if you haven't gotten it clean yet. My grandmother told me use soft scrub the original one and magic eraser and use my palm to apply pressure on the big area that I could. Wow it worked like a charm and I have never looked back. Also lowes has a product called zep that is for mold and mildew I think that is what it says and soap scum. Anyway it works sooooooo good on everything it has replaced all of my cleaners. Just sharing a tip that may help anyone desperate to make something clean that worked for me.. 😀

    It could be the acrylic staining and you can whiten it with peroxide that is used on hair....just brush it on and let it work then rinse it out after a bit...I've seen that for yellowed acrylic and it works incredibly well...I don't know the length of time, but you can probably find it here somewhere.

    Before you spray you should wet everything you’re about to clean. Then you should spray everything with the vinegar and dawn. Next, grab a scrub pad and scrub everything into the pours and let sit for 30 mins to an hour. Grab the pad and scrub again, everything should come right up. I did this in my shower and everything essentially wiped right up with little to no elbow grease. Does NOT work on mineral stains though!

    These tubs are supposed to be waxed and buffed prior to using (except the floor). Just use car wax. After waxing one bath I said forget the other! There was a huge difference between the two. I finally took a small brass brush that you get at Home Depot or Lowes and scrubbed the bottom of the 2nd bathtub. Worked like a charm with no scratches (however, test your tub first). No other brushes worked. Another concoction in powder form is 2 parts baking soda mixed with 1 part Borax. Happy cleaning! Now I have to tackle all that hair down in the drain!

  • @bestest122
    @bestest122 Před 7 lety +2

    I tried this a couple of months ago, using the same ingredients and got great results. The dark stain that your talking about is from the bottom of your feet. The only difference from what you did to what I did was to get a better spray bottle from Home Depot and coat the tub evenly, and left it over night. It did remove all of the dirt. Try it again and see what happens. Dirt and scum, comes off of shower glass doors also. Left everything bright and shiny. Good luck.

    Vinegar is an acid and that is why it works. The cleaning type is stronger than plain white vinegar but plain white vinegar is great too. You will also get the best shine on any glass with vinegar.

  • @jewboy60
    @jewboy60 Před 7 lety +19

    Cleaning vinegar is not different from other white vinegar, regardless of what the label says. Regular white vinegar comes in 4% or 5% acidity. Cleaning vinegar is 6% acidity for 3 times the price.

      In laymans terms, we call this a scam.
      Years ago, I bought a stereo cassette deck (that'll date-stamp me). The salesman asked, "do you want these gold plated wires to connect to the amp?" He walked me down the garden path there because what matters is the copper wire underneath the insulation. They were several dollars more each and I should have known better.
      I should do a channel on day to day scams and how to not get hooked.

    The tub at my old place was never that hard to clean. The textured floor is the worst. It takes scrubbing with steel wool pads, with great vigor, to get it clean.

    will this work with regular white vinegar?

    • @buckinghamclan
      @buckinghamclan  Před 8 lety

      No it does not. Cleaning vinegar is less diluted so that's why it works!

    I just watched 2 hours worth of these "clean your tub" videos... and although some get good results, some mixed results, and over the 20 years i've owned this house, I never got great results with ANY method... I did get excellent results today ... and I do mean excellent... as in... SPRAY IT ON... WAIT 5 MINUTES.... SCRUB IT OFF with a bristle brush, and my tub looked absolutely brand new. In fact the caulking that was brown/black turned white before even scrubbing away. FANTASTIC 5-1 BLEACH... great results. Sorry no video, because honestly I didn't expect to get great results when starting out.

    Yr using too much Dawn

  • @trishfitzpatrick2066
    @trishfitzpatrick2066 Před 6 lety

    I discovered a good way to clean the tub. I WAS going to do something with Dawn and vinegar and I ran across 30% vinegar (purchased on Amazon). I filled the tub with hot water and the vinegar and I was going to get the Dawn but got distracted. I finally got to the tub and discovered that the tub WON'T HOLD WATER! ARGHH. I got down on my knees with a scrub brush intending to just get it over with using the usual cleaning powder. OH MY!! Where'd the soap scum go?! It didn't take but a few minutes for some tougher spots but waayyy easier!
    CAUTION: Vinegar at 30% is far more caustic than ordinary stuff. My hands burned from just touching the surface! And the fumes! I immediately opened the window and turned on the fan and even then it was strong enough that I had to leave the bathroom for a few breaths. Still, if you are dead serious about getting that scummy tub clean and shiny...

      The Buckinghams
      The recipe calls for:
      1/2 c. white vinegar
      1/2 c. Original Blue Dawn Dish Soap
      4 T. Baking Soda
      Empty spray bottle (or skip this and use a glass measuring cup)
      but you have to be careful because when you mix the vinegar and baking soda it with go everywhere if you not careful.
