- After six years of research aim and development, our brand-new carbon construction is ready to be released to the world. We’ve used dozens of different layups from our testing grounds at home on the Gold Coast & around Australia, to wave pools and a huge variety of waves throughout North America, Europe, Japan, Morocco and Brazil. CarboTune is what we’ve settled on as the unanimous favourite from JS and the Traktor Team in each of these conditions. The aim was always for endurance and performance unlike anything seen before in surfboard construction - now we’re here.

Ladies and Gents....welcome to the 2000Eur surfboard.
Maybe dark arts would lower the price on theirs since there’s viable competition now
Exactly what I was thinking
4000
Buy once cry once.
Maybe. I creased a dark arts after 4 sessions.
I'd rather buy 1 perfect long lasting board than 15 great boards that die in 6 months or less of daily surf... Well done! Gotta try one and see if i like it
I bought a Hyfi Sub Xero some months back, my first ever JS... I'm 105kg+ so got a 6'6. I bought the Fanning 2+1 to put in it (the H4 styled things). I don't know how much is the fins and how much is the board but this combo just amazes me. This board whips around so hard and fast if you crank a cuttie - I've seen guys involuntarily show surprise and smile at the turns. It has that beautiful balance of being drivey on my backhand (super vert off the bottom) but strangely not stiff going forehand, very easy to release when you want - often a board is way more comfortable one way or the other but this thing is so exciting both ways. I can't express how much this thing excites me. I can't say that it's the absolute best paddler or groveller I've ever owned - but it might be the most exciting board I've owned. It only takes a little bit of push to light this thing up and I've ridden it from knee high to double overhead. I suspect that it's the built-in flex system that makes it burn out of turns if you load it up. Just wow! Wish my wife would let me get the carbotune lol... thanks JS 😊
Would definitely love to get our hands on one to review!!!!
Sammy rides that like No other....awesome
Need one now!!
Look incredible 🙏
Great job gents! Another board for just the pro’s!!! Haha
Legend.
Just ordered the 6'2" Sub Xero Carbotune ,. to bum out long boards and stand ups at the local haunts :) plan to run an FCSII H4 Quad setup ,. speed ,. power ,. flow~
amazing
Much better name then I-Bollock.
I- beam baby
Absolutely Beautifull Boards . Gr8 Shapes
Do u design & build long boards ?
Epic
How to say nothing in under seven minutes.
They are beautiful. I want a super stiff and resistant surfbboard. I made one on my own, but much much more amateurish, fins are not even in the correct direction
flex is a very good quality for a surfboard. super stiff rides like a log as do some of the stringered epoxy boards.
Surf n show where you at
I have it on very good authority these boards will be noticeably cheaper than Dark Arts….more expensive than a standard JS but not crazy money
If it is it's because it will be Communist crap like Hyfi and not surfer built like Dark Arts. Go ride your cheap china board kook
The world needs indestructible boards
I totally agree with you, but unfortunately shapers and companies out there don’t want this. Consumerism rules the world.
Nice work guys.
Which fibre did you settle on?
Is it all dry fibre or did you dry pre-preg?
What infusion process?
Did you go with any UD?
Any change in resin system?
What FEA are you doing/programs are you using?
this makes no sense, talking about dry fibre ud pre preg, none of that is relevent
Thanks for the comment. 😊 As it happens it's very relevant if you care how it's made, where it's made, how much it costs, the quality, and im sure in some cases the performance as well.

i think its now at least 30years that carbon windsurfing boards are produced - time to leave the bunker guys
It's not just about creating something from a different material but actually making it flex properly and perform well under a surfers feet.
Do they also come in white?
can't find it on the US page
The sailboards where doing this 30 yrs ago just don't leave it in ya hot car
BLACK BOARDS AND WAX MELTING,,SUMMER TIME THEY MUST GET RED HOT ,,,,EVEN THOUGH THEY SURF RED HOT .
wax melting good point. board would be better with a full deck non black traction pad.
Can you get these with a white spray or XPS core?
How much lol
does the EPS suck in water if you ding it? closed or open cell EPS?
Can it be dinged? What happens if you ding it? What happens if it falls off a bike and gets run over or if your ex stabs it with a pitch fork? How do you fix it then?
they are epoxy blanks, so same as an epoxy
If they are vacuumed bagged they will be much more resistant to dings than common epoxy boards. I have a couple Corevac boards and you can bang them on the road and they don’t dent. They also flex like a PU board but don’t break.
Background noise sucks.
Would love to have learne dwhere and how the carbon was used but could not hear.
Jason I think your smarter than the professor off Gilligans Island , and rumour has it that you are also smarter than Maryanne .
Anyway Keep making good surfboards brother .
I've been doing this for 30plus years old news now sold to China mas production cheaper
Funny u don't see any one on tour surf them on the wsl???
Sammy Pupo is on Carbotune.
Filipe Toledo and Kanoa Igarashi both winning titles with Dark Arts carbon fiber EPS boards. I can’t imagine carbotune is that much different in construction but possibly even better than dark arts. I own a dark arts board and now a carbotune. We shall see which is better for me.
@@splocal whats the verdict amigo?
@@dawsonbolus I picked up a xero gravity carbotune last weekend and flying out to Hawaii this weekend. Once I get on some surf with it I will let you know.
@@splocal cool. appreciate it!
We don’t say “ladies and gents “anymore
Black on the boards makes the wax melt quick. Board looks good otherwise
I dunno I always wear a bag on my board and its perfectly fine
Watch not one person ride this on the CT
Is this like the Dark arts tech @ JS industries?
Probably same factory oversees making them….😊
@@todjohnman7347no I doubt it’s pretty different
Dark arts is hand built in San Diego. I’ve seen it.
Trying to charge $1600 for a board? Such an obvious money grab. AGAIN. Every new name they think up for "epoxy" and "carbon" and how they put it together overseas means extra $$$$$$$$ for them. The shapes look nice - the price will kill it. Saying it's cheaper than Dark Arts is ridiculous. Stupid marketing ploy and it won't work.
have you purchased or worked with carbon?
I've seen overweight people in my triathlon club buy superlight bikes and airo helmets...like it matters!
1% of surfers would befit from this tech...
This isnt a shaper. He is an engineer who presses a button. He has no skill when it comes to shaping whatsoever.
He ordered them from Thailand with investor money. Anything for the money is a sad move .
what if you rode one and liked it?
Have you ridden a JS over the last 20 years… nahhhhhh never. Stick to the keyboard 😂
@@tonyturner4602who?
@@tonyturner4602 Yeah you're totally right in your assumptions Even though you know nothing about me. Definitely Never had a JS before. Well except for the flame fish soft that I have in military green. Oh yeah and then there's my 6'1" Raging Bull. Oh then I forgot my 5'10" Bullseye. Plus the quiver of older models some of which I got 15 years ago. You see my friend. I'm 36. Started shaping when I was a teenager. Started collecting boards a little bit after that. Have well over a hundred of my collection at this point. But if I'm being honest a sizable chunk of that has come over the next few years due to real water sports here in Buxton North Carolina that allows you to finance any board you want. So I just keep buying s*** and buying s***. Just got a new 5'11" SM1 Tokoro with a round pin. Then I got a 6'1" red tiger and a 6"0" Model 74 from pizell and all in the last 3 weeks.
Anyway bud I'm about to go paddle out at the third groin here in Buxton offshore West winds at about 4 to 6 miles an hour and 1 to 3 ft overhead near perfection. ✌️🤙
😂😂😂 shapers think of themselves as steve job, 90% of surfers don't care about design and materials they just want enough volume and a reasonably flat rocker ...
These arent shapers, theyre just buisness men trying to push out some new overseas made crap
You both sound like some washed up leather backs that have had your time and have never ridden a JS board. There will always be room for innovation in every sport and JS is leading the way in surfing.
clearly youre kook lilhard
They might not hand shape anymore but respect those guys (JS, DHD, and everyone else). It’s true that it’s not the same thing as it was back then but they made surfing evolve through the years. No shapers no surf
Of course I wouldn’t pay more 1000$ for a board but it’s interesting to know what are the materials and tech involved of what you have under your feet.
MADE IN THAILAND COBRA FACTORY?
Probably Vietnam
@@todjohnman7347 I wasn't kidding he use to produce boards in Thailand cobra factory because the money wasn't enough!
Commies make quality stuff for the surfer that doesn't care about being made fun of
@@ianobodie2338 so he has to be honest about it!I'm saying the truth, and if the shapers are producing boards in Thailand and they do not just js but more...stop being PIGS and take the price down ,and say where they were produced.
