“You will low side the bike, thats not such a big deal”... That’s why I love riding Adventure Bikes!
I thought after 48 years of riding I knew what I was doing.I have been practicing this maneuver every night after work with my new Africa Twin. Its not as easy as you make it look but I am getting a lot better. It has become fun and challenging. Thank You.I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks LOL.Thanks for posting.
Do u have dct?
This not a slide & pivot, its an Italian Job with a Tim Horton..... great video, thank you.
Great comment, Jason!
You are a Canadian, are you?
@@rockpatrickjoly People from all over the world are watching Ryan :D
😂
Your camera angles, filming and perspectives, are really great! Thanks for the effort you put in to this.
I needed to learn this, like 40 years ago!
You’re videos are straightforward and precise. No fluff. I like that.
You're welcome!
Just want to say I love your stuff and enjoy learning things I didn’t do well in my 20s (now 60). I practice the throttled clutch release slide, 2nd half of the turn, on my near dirt driveway with my non DCT Africa Twin every time I take it out!
I need to learn this. Thanks for breaking it down. Great video!
Outstanding lesson and good pointers on the nuances and gotchas! Those boxer motors make precise foot placement a must!
Another great video Bret. Glad to see you ride on Anakee 3's as well. Such a great tire.
That was hella smooth. Nicely done sir.👍
Also really appreciate the heads up on high sides being "bad". Who knew? 😎
...you do make it look easy! Thanks for sharing!
Another great video from Bret and the team.....good to see the Africa Twin get in the vid.
Yeah - We love the Africa Twin.

Another great video! I always look forward to these!
Excellent video! I love the way you break down the techniques into smaller activities that you can work on. Straight forward, simple and makes you feel as if anyone can do it. Also, love the way the video was shot. Thank you for contributing your knowledge to the motorcycle community
Thanks, Brian!
riding a motorcycle looks so easy, then actually doing it you realize how hard it really it.
its not just strength, it's commitment, quick thinking, understanding terrain, agility to shift weight fast, and doing things in the right oder
I am learning this and i figured out its way easier to stay in vertical control of the bike by pushing your body weight on the brake side foot peg, if you you put your body weight on the pivoting leg there is a bigger chance the bike will slide away from you.. No one mentions this in these how to videos. Hope it helps, keep practising.
Another great instruction by Bret
wow such a great explanation. THANK YOU!!!
You are really good at this Bret.
Thanx for teaching this...i got this when u came to india 🤘🏻
Excellent, tes conseils sont toujours au top !! J'essaye lors de ma prochaine sortie off road, la 4 eme a vrai dire depuis que je roule a moto, et oui je suis un novice.
nice one-- thanks Bret. You foreshadowed this in one of your videos from India, but that was featuring the junior wizard rider on a dirtbike-- thanks for tuning this technique lesson toward us older folks on bigger ADV bikes : )
That was always the plan... old people on adv bikes are my people :-)
amazing as always
L O V E that you are now offering modifiers for DCT. Awesome Brett.
Yes Brett, so much Love from Sweden, practicing this tomorrow on my DCT on tkc80s with car spikes on the slightly snow covered fields here in stockholm in the morning!

Brilliant mate.
Thanks for including details of using a DCT.

Thanks for doing these video's mate
I need to learn this!
awesome as always, thanks.
cool music and cool technique, thanks!
Pretty great explanation, also works really well with just about any bike.. especially in single track dirt biking
Does a 150cc 4 stroke engine capable of turning using power to break loose the rear wheel?
Just Amazing
Verry good advice!
Glad to see a new video!
Great advice great channel!
A luxury motorcycle deserves the five stars
Company thanks and appreciation
Good luck
Your friend Ahmed from Palestine in Morocco
so helpful. tenx!!
Thanks for the DCT tips for us few out there ! Great video !

Great explanation!
These kids today with their youtubes have it so easy. Back in the day, we had to invent our own skillz. I died several times and can't even count the number of times I was mortally wounded but survived trying to learn some new riding technique.
Nice vid . Will definitely come in handy
And, Bret. It looks cool doing it! Nice video.
slide pivot wheelie - even more fun
I wish I'd gotten into ADV bikes long ago instead of just plain street bikes. Better late than never, but now I'm seeing what kind of fun I've missed out on!
Smashing video again! Love it.
Thanks, Nick!
Nice air! You look so cool doing this slide. I can do this on my bicycle.
Lo difícil será cuando quieras hacer patinar la rueda trasera jaja!!
Nice explanation !
Thumbs up for Africa Twin DCT!
Indeed!

Pretty awesome video!
Thanks so much! I just subscribed
Love your videos, very informative. If only I wasn't so afraid of dropping my new bike :)
Thank you
Great advice! Easier than it seems... just practice.
Super explanation. Love the clarity and the angles. Great teaching. Instant sub on 1st video I've seen on your channel
Awesome, thank you!
I really want to try this now!! :)
Thanks for another great video!!!
Damn, I LOVE your gloves... unfortunately, I don't have 5he possibilities to buy them!!
Go job, great videos!!!
Thanks a lot !
He is a natural with teaching riding techique. nice.
Thanks, Tim!
just great !!!
아프리카트윈 dct 설명 감사합니다~!
So Cool
This guy is just giving names to everything we used to do as kids on our bikes lol.
Muy buena tecnica 👍👍
Digging this channel! New fav!!
Welcome!
Perfect technic in a dead end road, but not worked in very tight road and rocky terrain. Good video anyway, i put my thumbs up, good job! Waiting for another new uploads!
Thanks for the feedback, Mada!
Majes en moto approved
Hello, thank you for the Spanish subtitles, cordial greetings from the island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands, very good videos.
Cool !
Hi Brett, fantastic series! Wish the trails over here in the UK were half as good and accessible as those in the US! Can I be cheeky and request more videos for those of us using DCTs! Cheers! Keep up the great vids.

Tried this today. I got the slide-stop 90 degree pivot down pretty well, but can’t get my KLR to spin the rest of the way around for take off. Great demo though! And it was loads of fun to learn what I could.
Lean the bike more at full lock (creating thus a smaller patch for traction) and try again. Otherwise you need to rev a bit more.
Maku sure u turned off traction control
Hello gun man
@@ab-tn4yp KLR... Traction Control... hahaha! Good one!
Yeah, I've tried to do this turn on my KLR but the bike just doesn't want to. Maybe it's too tall. I'm going to try more later today
Kudos for your channel Bret, between you and FortNine and Revzilla (and all the other little guys) I learn so much. I've timidly attempted a half-donut but haven't yet gotten the gonads to try a slide then a donut on my Africa Twin -- waiting for my crash bars, because I can guarantee you the last part of your video will come true (I WILL drop the bike!)
Fortnine is incredible
Excellent video (as usual). I bought the same gloves, so at least I look like I can do this kind of thing when I park outside Starbucks. :)
LOL
I enjoy this technic every time I find a dead-end
“We do this with power...”
[CRF250L has left the chat]
With a CRF250L you can just lift it up and turn it lol
Oh quit i like the crf250l. 😆
My crf has plenty of tq, im running 13/48 for trail riding instead of the stock 14/40 😅
Do this every day on my 250L it’s like 320lbs hell you can do this on a scooter
Thanks! Dietrich from Germany.
You are welcome, Dietrich!
Your one thumbs down must be an old girlfriend who hates your success and that your still having fun. Enjoy your vids and simple, well thought out instructions.
LOL
Great stuff - thank you!
You're welcome!
One day i'll ride like you! Hopefully...
i like it 👌
Awesome video.. really great shots and presentation 😊👍
Thanks a lot 😊
Gracias por los subtítulos
broke it down potato head style, thanx for the lessons 👌
I can’t wait till I’m able to do this
Nice
2:37 is how I crashed last month. Thanks for the explanation.
Me too last week. Got into a square too fast while braking and got low sided
Wow!
Not as easy as it looks but I'm having a ton of fun trying to learn it!!!
OMG! OMG! you are off pavement without knobbies!
Oh no... that's not possible
My dirtbike doesnt have knobbies either because i ride it on the street. Knobbies really suck on the road.
Thanks for spanish subtittle!!!😘
thank you for korean subtitles. 감사합니다 한국어 자막 만들어주셔서 도움이 많이 됩니다
This one an advance technique... challenging
great video. Hi there you say during the initial slide I am too shake the handle bars or should I counter stir instead?
Nicely done on the DCT 👍
Thanks, Carl! We love the Africa Twin!

Great Video again Brett, thanks. Just a quick question...I noticed you are wearing the Rev'it Sand 3 gloves. What do you think of them? I'm torn between those and the Dirt 2's
I haven't used the dirt 2 but I'm very happy with the Sand 3. Quick break in and very comfortable in hot and mid temp days. Leather holds up well and rubber knuckle protection is unobtrusive.
Bret Tkacs Excellent, thanks I'll give them a try..
Gracias
De nada!
De nada
Oh yes, the right foot and the right turn - Just combine slide in and slide out into one movement without to tip the floor. Sound easy, right? ;-)
