  • The Bhrigu Lake Trek is a trek close to Manali. The months of June, July, August, and September are the best times to do this trek. The total distance of this trek is 20 kms. In this stretch, you will see some of the most beautiful treks in the Manali region.
    To enter an alpine meadow in our country, one has to often spend at least a day or two trekking within the treeline. We are talking about two or three days of hard ascent. This is because most alpine meadows start at around 11, 000 ft. However, on this trek, you are in the meadows within the first 10 minutes! Imagine having meadows such as these right here in your backyard. No wonder we go gaga over landscapes that are seen in places like Switzerland.
    Further, this is a trek that is steeped in mythology. It is known as the place where the famous saint Maharishi Bhrigu sat in deep meditation. You also get stunning views of Hanuman Tibba on this trek too!

      We would recommend the route we take for this, from Gulaba - Jonker Thatch - Rola Khuli - Bhrigu Lake - Back to Gulaba. You start through beautiful forests on this route and almost immediately climb up to the grasslands. It's a beautiful route!
      You'll find more information about it here - indiahikes.com/bhrigu-lake/#detailed-itinerary

    Can we do this trek without camping gear.. Is food and tents available enroute?

      @swathichatrapathy9347 Před 6 lety

      Hi Karan, I'm afraid there is no food available on the route. You'll need at least two days to do this trek. That means you'll need to stay overnight at least one night.

      Hi Nishant, this trek is perfect for a first timer. You just need to get fit because the ascents are pretty stiff! You don't really need prior high altitude experience though.

    How can we charge camera in the camps??

    • @swathichatrapathy1058
      @swathichatrapathy1058 Před 6 lety

      You can't. There's no electricity at any campsites, unless you're going on a trek with tea houses/lodges. You'll have to carry spare batteries or use cameras that can be charged using a power bank.

    Could we track to bhrigu in November??

    • @Indiahikes
      @Indiahikes  Před 5 lety

      That would be very difficult. There will be a lot of snow on the trail, blocking most of it. Mid-October would perhaps mark the end of the season to do the Bhrigu Lake trek.

      @@Indiahikes ok.. thn please suggest some track with Manali. We are arriving in November..

    • @Indiahikes
      @Indiahikes  Před 5 lety

      This is actually the case with most treks that climb to this altitude in November. But Prashar lake is a good place to visit in November. We will also open a trek to Shumga Top in the next week. Just keep a tab on our website. We'll put up the trek and dates soon!

    Swaati mam, we are planning to go to bhrigu lake this 15th of may, will we get to see the ice? Or like do we trek through the icelands to approach the lake in mid May 2018.??? Please help me.!

    • @swathichatrapathy1058
      @swathichatrapathy1058 Před 6 lety

      Hi Mohit I don't think Bhrigu will be accessible in May. There will be too much snow. You will surely need ice axes and micro spikes. The season to trek there begins in June, when the snow comes down a bit. There was one person who did the trek in April though. You can read about his experience here - indiahikes.com/bhrigu-lake-offseason-april-trekker-blog/
