  • Mr H takes a Boxing Day bimble and explores the now overgrown ruins of a large house hidden in a small wooded area amongst the fields of Standish near Wigan, that was built and gifted to the Catholic Church in the late 1700's by the Standish family for use as a parochial home for priests serving in the Standish community.

Lovely weather you had! I enjoyed the video Mr H Shame when you think back to how that building was like and it's now rubble. Happy new year to you and the family.

Happy New Year Mr H. I used to fish in the pond as a kid. It was famous for its tench. This was about 40 years ago and unsure if its still fished as it looks much more overgrown now and no sign of any fishing pegs. I moved away from the area a long time ago and loved having a trip down memory lane again on another of your videos. Thanks.

Yes the pond was locally called the hermitage was full of fish and big fish back in the day 80s 90s didn’t have that drain off then,

  • @clagfest

Loads of good Tench in that pond, but it was before Convid when I last fished it. It's a hard fish though, as it's very weedy.
