I highly recommend getting as many people as possible on your team to be troopers and max out your re-enforcements, just use your strength in numbers. Hell, its even BETTER if you can get them all to pick a battledroid skin and then a couple people can be SBDs and/or dekas and you can reform the CIS

ARC Troopers have more advanced training but useless equipment that's barely any different from the standard clone equipment. Republic commandos have more advanced equipment but useless training that's barely any different from the standard clone training.

Honestly the saber combat in BF2 is far better than BF1. My first match I played as Porkins and cleaned house. Immediately after, I got my ass handed to me. If you try it, don't get discouraged if you don't pick it up right away. The mod's been around for a long time and most of the people that play it have been playing it for years, so they're understandably better than newcomers.
Yeah a single player story driven star wars action game would be almost. Probably something with troopers or Bounty Hunters would be nice. Something different like that one smuggler game we could have gotten from Viseral.

MB2 has the best online lightsaber combat EVER! I remember playing for HOURS years ago and only needing to communicate through my blade. I’ve been praying they found a way to bring this to console through some strange mod or something but I know it’s crack dream.
Not really because it's "too much to offer". They can deliver a super complex game for sure buuuuuuut it won't sell well because... casual gamers. AAA game companies play safe 99% of the time. They make a game with very simple and fast paced gameplay simply because other games like that succeed on the market while complex games are considered too risky as an investment. That's why we'll be seeing CoD, Assassin's Creed and Need for Speed games until the world's end.

Can confirm this to be true. I suck at it and it's pretty hard to learn but I played for 10 hours straight last night and although I suck at it, it was fun as hell. The saber combat is the most realistic in any game I've ever seen and when you get kills it feels amazing. Especially against wookies.

Okay. If we're just looking at the films, I disagree kind of. Kylo had at least inklings of interesting depth. Darth Maul was a devil-looking cool looking Sithlord who died after one fight. In the expanded canon stuff, Maul wins hands-down. Clone Wars and the books about him expand on his character and make him an amazing villain. Kylo, as of TLJ, kind of just does whatever because he's a bad guy with emotional issues.
Kylo is an emo-feelings-cry-screamy little bitch. Darth Maul is a zealot silent-badass without mercy and no past, which make him even more interesting. Maul 4 live.
I mean in canon Maul took over Mandalore, created an extremely powerful crime organization, was able to stand up against Palpatine for a while, and was able to take down (some temporary) major crime organizations, putting The Hutts in check, taking over the Black Sun, etc...
Something to add: It really sucks that EA gets exclusive rights to this franchise. That is also Disney's fault. And I am a bit annoyed they don't get more flax for it. Older games like jedi Knight series, republic commando, rogue squadron etc were great star wars games. Nowadays we have just one company that gets to choose what they make and how they make it. There isn't any other competing company that makes better star wars games which causes people to want to buy those ones instead. This monopoly means EA has gotten away with selling garbage games. Sure they might look nice, but that's about it. And as another person pointed out in their video a while back, Disney is lazy and doesn't want to make their own star wars games so they are letting another company do it. Hey that's fine if you don't want to make the games, but don't make it so that only one company can make them cause then they have a monopoly. Unless the company making them has proven they would treat the brand great and make great games.
I have nothing against EA producing Star Wars games, but if there would be a competing company the quality of Star Wars games would increase because everyone will buy the better one

This mod is pretty fun, although the skill gap between oldies and newbs for jedi/sith is ridiculous. I once spent a couple hours being taught how to play jedi/sith from a pro, needless to say its a lot harder then it seems. Its awesome tho
the way dueling worked at the time of this video was far superior and easier to get into. The way it is now caters to the 45 year olds who spend their life on the game.
Indras Baruno when you start it IS hard, but if you put in the time and effort to become better, it is VERY much worth it. theres also plenty of people in the community who could help you
Yes often melee oriented games such as this game or Chivalry Medieval Warfare have a huge learning curve. Its normal to get rekt early in the game. I dont mind that. Unlike games like Battlefield or COD there isnt really a learning curve.
the game we need right now is a Jedi Knight: Reborn. 100% same gameplay - but with graphics, as good if not better Witcher 3-ish storyline and with totally open sandbox world with vehicles and other forms of transportation.
Games like this without any noticable skill ceilings are always amazing. You can get people who are absolute gods but still get taken out by either a lucky shot or someone who also knows what they're doing

I do really enjoy the new Battlefront II, especially HvV. That being said, I'd trade it and my left testicle for a AAA game company to make a game as beautiful as EA's Star Wars yet as in-depth as Movie Battles II's combat and class system.
The year is 2022, and the mod is still being updated and the community is still alive. (Plus a lot of the player models got a makeover and look really good now)
Worth mentioning there are sometimes special servers that are the same game mode but with characters such as: Michael Jordan, Shrek, Solid Snake, and Predator. They all have unique move sets and weapons. Truly one of the best games.
I sunk thousands of hours into Jedi Academy multiplayer in my high school years and remember a big population drop off in standard servers when movie battles came out. Nobody ever explained what the mod was to me so I just never ended up playing it. This video filled me with deep regret for never making the transition. Maybe I'll reinstall the game and give this a shot.
Fantastic video. I just started messing around with this mod the other week, and I'm disappointed that this kind of gameplay wasn't the direction the industry went down. More triangles on the screen is worthless if the gameplay is boring as shit.
I have a new purpose Jedi Knight: Movie Battles Essentially everything that this game is with better looking textures and SFX. Just a complete redesign with no strings attached. NO. STRINGS.

I've been playing for a total of 9 years now I think and I always try to teach new players but there is no real tutorial system its all based on time and really how much willpower you have. I'm really surprised I myself haven't quit years ago and don't get me wrong I do get urges sometimes you know when people decide to spam to win on the opposing side but regardless of all that people seem to neglect and don't acknowledge this factor and it's literally the most important factor going into the game, the community and the skill gap should be addressed but the way the mod is built I don't think there is really a solution for that. The mod is absolutely great with a lot of potential but who is contributing to it when you have new people coming on just to quit a few days later because you have an entire team of spammers ganging up on them or toxic team killers that you can't beat because you just don't have the experience to know how yet. I think maybe because it's already such a small community with little options to choose from might be why attacks and toxicity are so frequent, but I suppose we can only see in time if people actually decide to stick around long enough to make a difference. The developers like to change the dueling system quite a bit with every few major updates so I would assume that be the best time to come back in when everybody is still trying to get the hang of it. This is why myself and a few other like-minded people have started an organization called the First Order that wishes to remove this kind of disorder from MBII and give players new and old alike a safe haven to play their favorite mod on, check it out and take the survey to see if this is something you'd qualify for and like to do. effacer.shivtr.com/forums EDIT: I made a similar comment on another video that had a tremendous amount of people agreeing with me but it seems to have been deleted by the creator of the video. Just really contributes more to my argument as to why community and skill gap are such an important factor that nobody will acknowledge.
Exactly. Think I was 11 or something like that when I first got into MBII and couldn't really rack up kills, one or two in a round at most. Back then nearly everyone in the community raged at bad/new players which really put me off the mod after some time. Also seemed like everyone was really good at the game and contributing to the team except me of course. New players came and always left after a few days. Am 21 now and heard that MBII got an update and still players playing, decided to check how it holds up and it is still the same shit community, high skill gap as before :/
Yeah man honestly the first couple of years I started playing I was so bad and couldn't get any kills and didn't know how to duel properly like every time I got a kill I was so excited because it was so rare and I felt like it was all just luck hanging on by a thread. I have no clue why I kept on going and playing but I did and eventually just from watching other people and meeting some good friends (to my own surprise) I learned a lot and was able to actually play correctly and develop my own style of dueling that works for me. The problem here is that it took me YEARS to achieve that, maybe I'm a slow learner but regardless it shouldn't have to take that many years of dedication to get good at the game.
Just go full rage-mode duel lightsaber jedi/sith or thermal detonator spam bounty hunter. Where there's a will, there's a way. Hell, a buddy and i went duo cortosis armor SBDs and only used right click for 3 matches in a row and cleaned house when the enemy team was stacked with jedi.
This video is truly well done and a good introduction to the newbies. I can't believe that the one time I happen to join murican server I get recorded as if I was playing battlefront at 4:10. This needs a lot more views. Also if you want to see some playing battlefront style but succesfully then check my latest vid, even that is possible if youre good enough!

Can confirm this to be true. I suck at it and it's pretty hard to learn but I played for 10 hours straight last night and although I suck at it, it was fun as hell. The saber combat is the most realistic in any game I've ever seen and when you get kills it feels amazing. Especially against wookies.

Okay. If we're just looking at the films, I disagree kind of. Kylo had at least inklings of interesting depth. Darth Maul was a devil-looking cool looking Sithlord who died after one fight.
In the expanded canon stuff, Maul wins hands-down. Clone Wars and the books about him expand on his character and make him an amazing villain.
Kylo, as of TLJ, kind of just does whatever because he's a bad guy with emotional issues.
Kylo is an emo-feelings-cry-screamy little bitch. Darth Maul is a zealot silent-badass without mercy and no past, which make him even more interesting. Maul 4 live.

Something to add: It really sucks that EA gets exclusive rights to this franchise. That is also Disney's fault. And I am a bit annoyed they don't get more flax for it. Older games like jedi Knight series, republic commando, rogue squadron etc were great star wars games. Nowadays we have just one company that gets to choose what they make and how they make it. There isn't any other competing company that makes better star wars games which causes people to want to buy those ones instead.
This monopoly means EA has gotten away with selling garbage games. Sure they might look nice, but that's about it. And as another person pointed out in their video a while back, Disney is lazy and doesn't want to make their own star wars games so they are letting another company do it. Hey that's fine if you don't want to make the games, but don't make it so that only one company can make them cause then they have a monopoly. Unless the company making them has proven they would treat the brand great and make great games.

This mod is pretty fun, although the skill gap between oldies and newbs for jedi/sith is ridiculous. I once spent a couple hours being taught how to play jedi/sith from a pro, needless to say its a lot harder then it seems. Its awesome tho
the way dueling worked at the time of this video was far superior and easier to get into. The way it is now caters to the 45 year olds who spend their life on the game.

Yes often melee oriented games such as this game or Chivalry Medieval Warfare have a huge learning curve. Its normal to get rekt early in the game. I dont mind that.
Unlike games like Battlefield or COD there isnt really a learning curve.

Worth mentioning there are sometimes special servers that are the same game mode but with characters such as: Michael Jordan, Shrek, Solid Snake, and Predator. They all have unique move sets and weapons. Truly one of the best games.

I sunk thousands of hours into Jedi Academy multiplayer in my high school years and remember a big population drop off in standard servers when movie battles came out. Nobody ever explained what the mod was to me so I just never ended up playing it. This video filled me with deep regret for never making the transition. Maybe I'll reinstall the game and give this a shot.

Fantastic video. I just started messing around with this mod the other week, and I'm disappointed that this kind of gameplay wasn't the direction the industry went down. More triangles on the screen is worthless if the gameplay is boring as shit.

Love the review. I've been playing for a total of 9 years now I think and I always try to teach new players but there is no real tutorial system its all based on time and really how much willpower you have. I'm really surprised I myself haven't quit years ago and don't get me wrong I do get urges sometimes you know when people decide to spam to win on the opposing side but regardless of all that people seem to neglect and don't acknowledge this factor and it's literally the most important factor going into the game, the community and the skill gap should be addressed but the way the mod is built I don't think there is really a solution for that. The mod is absolutely great with a lot of potential but who is contributing to it when you have new people coming on just to quit a few days later because you have an entire team of spammers ganging up on them or toxic team killers that you can't beat because you just don't have the experience to know how yet.
I think maybe because it's already such a small community with little options to choose from might be why attacks and toxicity are so frequent, but I suppose we can only see in time if people actually decide to stick around long enough to make a difference. The developers like to change the dueling system quite a bit with every few major updates so I would assume that be the best time to come back in when everybody is still trying to get the hang of it. This is why myself and a few other like-minded people have started an organization called the First Order that wishes to remove this kind of disorder from MBII and give players new and old alike a safe haven to play their favorite mod on, check it out and take the survey to see if this is something you'd qualify for and like to do. effacer.shivtr.com/forums

Exactly. Think I was 11 or something like that when I first got into MBII and couldn't really rack up kills, one or two in a round at most. Back then nearly everyone in the community raged at bad/new players which really put me off the mod after some time. Also seemed like everyone was really good at the game and contributing to the team except me of course. New players came and always left after a few days. Am 21 now and heard that MBII got an update and still players playing, decided to check how it holds up and it is still the same shit community, high skill gap as before :/

Yeah man honestly the first couple of years I started playing I was so bad and couldn't get any kills and didn't know how to duel properly like every time I got a kill I was so excited because it was so rare and I felt like it was all just luck hanging on by a thread. I have no clue why I kept on going and playing but I did and eventually just from watching other people and meeting some good friends (to my own surprise) I learned a lot and was able to actually play correctly and develop my own style of dueling that works for me. The problem here is that it took me YEARS to achieve that, maybe I'm a slow learner but regardless it shouldn't have to take that many years of dedication to get good at the game.
Just go full rage-mode duel lightsaber jedi/sith or thermal detonator spam bounty hunter. Where there's a will, there's a way. Hell, a buddy and i went duo cortosis armor SBDs and only used right click for 3 matches in a row and cleaned house when the enemy team was stacked with jedi.
This video is truly well done and a good introduction to the newbies. I can't believe that the one time I happen to join murican server I get recorded as if I was playing battlefront at 4:10.
