Agreed, great review. Did you just pick up the improved aluminium ones? they still do these olds, now less than 1/2 price of last year! would be interesting to see how the two types compare in your new review. I noticed they both have the same battery capacity, so will run times be shorter on the new ones when running in 50/100 lumin modes?
Turn indicators for bicycles were around in the late 1950s. Installed a pair of stop lights on my bike that used a motorcycle stoplight switch in conjunction with my rear sidepull brake, coupled to a flat 4.5 volt EverReady battery in the side pocket of the underseat saddle bag. The stoplights (normal cycle taillights), were attached to each side pocket. It was also equipped with twin battery horns that used a single D cell battery and were as loud as any car, twin rear view mirrors, and dual headlights. I have to add though, that two bloody bottle style generators, that used both the front and rear tyres proved a damn good workout into the bargain, especially when riding up even a slight hill, lol...
They are a replica of moon sport lights, i think the model was called comet, if they're the same and rebadged then they are quality. Aldi did another set that are same as moon Nebula.
nice review! I like the black bike with the integral light, very cool. But can I ask some questions. So in the end how long did the front light last? And I have an airo seat post on my new bike, do you think it would fit that with the rubber strap?
+Reginald Scot Thanks - well I was out on the Cannondale for about a couple of hours with full beams, the lights actually don't change colour(got that bit wrong) they flash when charge is low, & they didn't so far, so time will tell, Aero seat pillars, hmm.... the curve on the bracket where the adjuster for angle is, may be a prob there, so I would imagine seat rail fixing would be better, but not 100% on that, without trying it on that style of post.
+ADz Bikes Thanks for the info, I have been looking for lights for my new bike so I can ride airbrushing club at night, this might be just what I need. :)
Good video mate I just bought a moon lx760 for £15 there normally about £75 but I want a good back light go with it do you think these would match the quality of the moon
Sorry for the long delay in reply, the Moon stuff is well made, having said that, I can;t fault the build of these, so far no issues at all, I would say pretty damn close in build quality !
Thanks - The dinky lights, which actually are pretty damn good for the cheapo price they are (£3 approx) are from various places - Aldi have them in from time to time, as bike and jogging/safety lights, (they are the ones with 3 options, inc the 'cop' strobe one) the others are Rolson (cheapo bike accessory/tool range) and I found them in my Co Op, but the design is wide, Adsa have em as 'Bell' accessories but they are pricey - and Wilkos have them as their own brand and cheaper, but the latter have two options - flash and blink. All have the laggy band fixing and stretches round forks, bars etc.
They have them in Aldi from Sept 29th - same ones, £3 a set, should have plenty so I am going to get some more, bargain at that price and the ones they have do the 'cop' strobe flash
I was on holiday in Wales last week but managed to find an Aldi and picked up another set of the standard ones plus the new alloy ones, so I will do another update video when I get em going on a ride, look very impressive so far. On the last ones I bought the run time was over 4 hours and were still bright, but my old rear one loses charge when left off for some reason, hence why I picked up two more - at a tenner a pair it seems a bargain.
WafflesIsTheStuff ....To a degree yes...in full brightness they are as bright as a car on full beam...so I reduce the light while in traffic...when I'm on a country pitch black lane then I need the beam. ..I dip them from direct beam into traffic anyway. Treat them like a full automobile light...dipped when in traffic ...full when you need to see the road. Having said this...it's still better to be seen than not be noticed. Used with discretion they are on the mark.
These lights are the same as the company moon, the lights are called comet. Just in case anyone wanted to purchase them now. Quite a bit more expensive than aldi though.
the light that's attached to you handlebar comes with it or you've brought it? if you brought, where I can find? (sorry for my bad English, it isn't my mother language)
+Ronald Mattos No it was separate, I had to buy from a shop online, not easy to find - but TWO shops I found sell it - TRITON cycles and QWERTY cycles, both had them but last time I looked they were out of stock. Poss try cannondaleexperts.com
Many thx, you made a great video, I'll definitely buy these led bar lights, they're quite good and have some style, probably they'll look awesome in my bike
+Mohammed Imran Qwerty cycles UK - these are not easy to get, took me a while to track one down the problem is finding someone with it in stock - this place has em www.cannondale-parts.de/
The stem light is Cannondale's own - they are a bugger to find - took me a while to track one down in the UK The actual name of it is CANNONDALE SI BADBOY URBAN LED HANDLEBAR FRONT LIGHT.
+ADz Bikes they have them back again! This time in a set for £9.99 front and rear. Also have some more expensive £12 lights. www.aldi.co.uk/specialbuys/dates/thursday-29th-september/c/2016-09-29
***** It appears Aldi rebrand "Moon" lights, which is a company that makes bike lights. The £9 ones are Moon Comets (RRP £30) and the new ones for £12 are Moon Nebulas (RRP £40)
Ahh I had suspicions that was the case, yeah seen the alloy ones they look good, great, sadly I wont be about near any Aldi next week I am in Wales and no where near a store but I have asked my mate to pick some up.
very bright !!...BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they don't last!!! I bought 6 for me and others and 2 already broken. Not powering up. Too bad because it's very very bright.......I'm torn...should I buy more and cross my fingers.
Update - well the rear was dead recently - so I left it on charge and was about to give up, but then it came back to life and works - so yep a bit hit n miss with them, the front is still going fine, the rear is a bit twitchy with charging but both still OK so far, pity as they are good value, dunno if you can still get em, not seen them in Aldi in the recent cycle pro mo, but they do rotate SOME items back round.
I would hazard a guess this could possibly be due to using the rear light without a mudguard? They say "water resistant", which is I guess due to the usb port plug. always wise to fill it with vaseline and use mudguards when it is rainy (i.e. most of the year in the UK lol)
These bike lights at great to put on The front of Motorcycle bars here on the USA, Cars can’t keep from noticing you. Good thing they are legal to put on Motorcycles in a Trump America 👍🇺🇸😏
Brilliant, thank you.
This morning (29.9.016) I bought some. I cannot get over how bright they are.
Well worth the money
Yeah got the new ones also a few days ago, seem amazing so far, new video to upload shortly.

+ADz Bikes Just had a look, you can pull the strap very tight, so - yes, should grip round your aero stem OK

How's the battery life?
What is the name of wheel spark light
how do u change the modes from strobe to normal
Hold the button down for 3 secs and it changes modes, then press through the brightness options - strobe is the last one
Is there a link to these lights,
Great video, thank you. I'm interested in the small flashing lights on your cruiser. What are they and where did you purchase them from, please?

Where can I order these lights?
from where we can buy...?
do you think the front lights might be too bright and distracting for car drivers if you're cycling on the road?

Oh dear. Camera waving around the whole time is making me feel sick...
Why would you ever want to strobe a car driver who might well run you over, that remains the main question
