Throughout my years on this planet, the one thing that comes to mind which I never ever completed was to connect my psp to wifi. Never did it because it is the most complex thing in the universe once you find out that your own network cannot be selected as an option to connect.

If you just want to update your PSP it's much easier to setup a hotspot with no security using your cell phone, just my 2 cents.

Newer modems won't work with the PSP considering it's a 8-year old system.
But, on the bright side, you can still download things by plugging it into your PC and putting games/videos/music/etc. on it that way. And the games quite obviously still work.

AnimeGuy PlaysMC No, you can't. You have to keep in mind it's an 8-year old system. The reason you can't is because most newer modems now have a different type of connection, which wasn't supported when the PSP models were released, because it was new at the time. But, it isn't that major as you can still download ISOs/games, emulators, etc. by connecting it to PC.

The PSP can't connect to modern wifi routers because the PSP does not support WPA/WEP encrytion...

U’re supposed to connect your wifi to a wpa psk secured wifi... maybe ur wifi is on wpa psk2? Because the weaker the security the more stable the connection on psp devices...

This internet thing is a huge problem, I have been googling and researching everything I can try ring to connect to the internet and nothing. The closest I got was an old lg Android I was able to make a wpa newtwork and it shows on the psp but it always fails to connect. I cannot change the wpa from wpa2 and 3 on my router the option to change is is locked so I cannot change it. I have an xfinity gateway router.
