It would be little narcissistic and stupid to think people should and will agree to Europe at their own detriment. This should have been in the risk profiling of every European project, instead it's coming as learning to you all is surprising.
Also Europe cannot see one action or policy in isolation, several actions come together to create an impact. Regarding oil American and European actions have created a lot of different impacts thus stopping cheap oil from entering the market and increasing its price for which is already difficult for nations with lesser per capita income and to top it they want to stop Russian oil too while ensuring they keep importing Russian oil. That's hilarious at best and given the relationship India and China shares with Russia.
