Those who don't get the humour of W1A will maybe not have worked for a company that has a lot of meetings. At so many real-life company meetings, there is a lot of waffle, people interrupting, or being too full of themselves to see what is actually being discussed. This show sends up all big companies, not just the BBC. I love how the characters each have their own little catchphrases and nervous habits. I've seen a lot of similar company meetings in real life, so the "more of less" initiative seems to me kind of funny and tragic at the same time. Will is my favourite character because he has a nerdy kind of innocence and seems to live on his own planet for most of the time. And I think Izzy has a soft spot for him.

funnily enough when bbc had the option to host user generated content they turned it down and youtube went with it. The bbc claim at the time was that no way were they going to give space to 'fanatics' and who would watch it anyway. Brightest and the best at the BBC.

It's actually a good idea, it would be great to be showcased on actual television, there could be a specific TV channel or time slot where we can be broadcast on the BBC which saves the BBC money on shooting and production costs and we can be assured that our message isn't chopped up and twisted into false information. If I could get my Autism Education videos shown on BBC 1 or 2 or 4 then that would be a huge help for the Autistic community, ask the Autistic community for our voices without a bias or slant put on it by a conventional production method.

The criticism of the show is not really of the concept itself but of the BBC people handling it. The person presenting it is gratingly cosmopolitan and overconfident in an unoriginal idea that they've failed to make an actual case for besides "It's the future!" and most of the people sat at the table's dialogue consists only of "yes" "great idea" and "I agree" rather than constructive criticism. When there is constructive input towards the end about leaving content creation in the hands of the BBC, it's drowned out. The point of the show (or this specific sketch, I don't know) is self-deprecation on the part of the BBC, possibly in an effort to make serious criticism from within.
There is one criticism of the idea itself (which I'm sure was for an online service rather than a TV broadcasting slot or channel), given by the presenter herself ("say you're into body image" and "say you're into bipolar") which is more a criticism of youtube's content creators and the content they make. The sketch makes its own solution for the possibility that standards on the proposed BBC service might be inadequate-it's ignored but it does move towards discussing how the BBC might maintain standards and be unique from youtube by producing their own content like they do, essentially, on the iplayer.
This does not mean that it's the only solution, though. Perhaps in the future the BBC might be convinced to allow content produced by the public that they've vetted to be uploaded onto the iplayer, possibly showcased in a section on the front page. I think that might make an adequate solution.

BBC 1 2 and 4 are already full of content - they could change what they show but it's impossible to show everyone's work.
