Who is Image / DC Comics' Mister Majestic? A Darker "Superman"

- This video explores the abilities, powers, and origin of the Image Comics / DC Comics character "Mister Majestic." From his birth in the Wildstorm Universe as Majestros on the planet Khera, being enhanced by the D'rahn aliens to become the most powerful being in the Wildstorm Universe, having similar powers to DC Comics' Superman in addition to energy blasts from his hands and telekinesis, having two children named Majestrate and Kenesha (daughter of Zealot), being a Kherubim warlord that was stuck on Earth during the Kherubim/Daemonite War, adventures with Superman and The Eradicator during his time in Metropolis, to it being revealed that his darker personality stems from the fact that he tragically lost his son during his journey to Earth; Let's take a look at this Image / DC superhero, and the most powerful being deriving from Wildstorm. This includes a short, canon character biography and my own opinionated "Sage Rating," which I use to give ratings of comic books and science fiction characters.

I really think Image Comics should get him back under their license. They would do so much for him and the wildcats. He's like Superman but with a batman complex.
DC Comics/ Warner Bros. would use this character in a film soon enough for a profit when James Gunn uses him right.

I always liked Mr Majestic. I know he began as a Superman ripoff, but his differences make him interesting. Wish DC would use him and the other Wildstorm cast more.
Wished there were more crossovers with Earth One and other DC universes like that.

I totally agree with you. DC doesn’t use the Wildstorm characters nearly enough. But at least DC uses them even if it’s not very often unlike Marvel and the Malibu Ultraverse characters. Marvel bought Malibu comics back in the 90s and when they did they made a several crossovers using the more popular Ultraverse characters like Nightman, Prime, and the other Ultra Force members. As soon as the 2000s hit, Marvel put all of the Ultraverse characters in the basement never to be used and seen again. I think that’s completely stupid considering the Malibu’s Ultraverse characters fit very well with the Marvel motif. Why buy out an entire comic-book publisher and not use any of their characters when Marvel owns the rights to them? Like I said before, at least DC uses the Wildstorm characters even if it’s sporadically.
I agree with you but I never understood why ppl use rip-off for characters. Supes and many other DC characters are rip-offs themselves. Supes is a ripoff of Hercules and others similar. Marvel characters are no different. Even Image is at fault. They all are to some degree.

Mr. Majestic is basically Superman with a massive ego and attitude.
Charles Gorman Goes beyond that he has extensive kherubim martial arts training in hand to hand combat and highly skilled with weapons his whole life since childhood he was trained to the limits in combat and to wage war to conquer, he was bred for it something Superman never has been taught to that level if at all.. Majestic was raised a warrior..Ego is a small part of whats different
He's Superman without the Kents but instead centuries of intergalactic warfare with demonites and other races.

Majestic is my favorite superman analog and I would love to see him return to comics with the wildcats. Its a huge missed opportunity if they don't use them.

I miss the Pre-DC Wildstorm universe. I hated how DC weakened & changed the origins of the Wildstorm characters just to make their flagship characters stronger than them.

Wildstorm reached its creative and power peak AFTER they were acquired by DC in 1999.. Try again...
DC ruined them. they ruined Mister Majestic, Icon etc.....just to make their hero's like superman look OP. can't have majestic coming in & running shit. not while superman is the big cheese lol. don't even know why they bought the rights to wildstorm & milestone. why buy them when you know you aren't gonna use them? mister majestic & Icon had one arc each & you never seen them again. and to note this version of majestic wasn't event he same as wildstrom majestic. wildstorm majestic was a high warlord that lived for over 1000-10,000 years. he was basically OP level. DC version of majestic was created by scientists. so he was basically an android lol.......WTF!!!!!!!! they tried making him look like he was superman level but failed. he was taken down by a sonic attack.......A FREAKING SONIC ATTACK LOL!!!!

Majestic is the embodiment of DC trinity in one he has wonder woman warriors skills even greater, batman level genius (prep time too) even greater, superman powers (greater). He is just that great

People keep comparing him to superman because he's powerful. But he's nothing like superman. He's elitist because he's royalty, he's a soldier and doesn't hesitate to kill. His powers aren't based in energy absorption nor does he have a weakness to any kind of radiation. He doesn't really live among people or have loyalty to earth. He's just nothing like superman. Which is why I like him as a character. Not that I don't like Superman, Supes is still my favorite character but Mr. Majestic is a different powerful interesting character.
Because ppl believe Supes is an original character when he’s clearly based off of Hercules and other lore and mythology characters. Ppl don’t want to admit Supes is a ripoff himself.
More to your point, ppl see the powers first then decide if they should invest further into a character’s actual story. Majestic is a badass but they can’t and won’t see beyond his powers. He is a warrior through and through. His experience is much higher than Superman’s. I believe Majestic will never get any further than he has within DC because he’d be a threat and because he’s so different they can’t market him as a family hero the way Supes has been marketed outside of comics. Majestic as a character that has more than enough potential to be better than Supes. If they allowed him to truly shine, he would stand out more than Supes.
How many DC Supes fans (toxic ones) would be happy about that? Majestic is one of those characters that comes along and is actually better than the character ppl say he’s a ripoff of. Then a big publisher gets ahold of them and we suddenly hear nothing more of that character or we just get small insignificant random appearances from them.

This guy was my favorite character in image comics when I was kid I remember seeing him in Wildcats I can see Adam Driver being one of the actors that could play this guy.

Majestros is an awesome character and writers really know how to humanise "superman" and go about showing that he is above the petty squabbles of humans & politics, & goes about for the greater good = like how he + Desmond + earth's greatest scientist, went about saving the earth from an extraterrestrial "Galactus" threat by tricking it that it has entered the wrong star system ... it only took a whole generation to do so. Vs Superman/DC writers would have Bashed it away.

When he was stranded in the DC Universe he once stopped a temporal storm that S.T.A.R. Labs scientists had no clue how to get rid of but Majestic figured it out in minutes

The Pre-Crisis Superman had the ability to learn things at an accelerated rate but he was still not on Lex Luthor, Will Magus or Mr. Terrific's level. The Pre-Crisis Superman could also fly so fast that he could shatter the time barrier. Both Mr. Majestic and most versions of Superman after the first Crisis aren't nearly fast enough to pierce the time stream. Majestic only travels through time because of someone else's technology or power. Or when he traveled back to his reality from the DC Universe he calculated the brief period when a portal would open that led him back home. You should just read Majestic's comics yourself and see for yourself how vastly different he is from Superman besides a cape and his powers

A couple of things they left out on this video. but other than that this video was amazing I love mr. Majestyk! granted I don't like the fact that he took the name from a Charles Bronson film. But then again I also like Deadpool when he first came out and that's from a movie with Liam Neeson and Clint Eastwood in it. It's not that he can Blast from his eyes or hands he can Blast from any part of his body. And he can change the energy into any element he chooses! It's not that he has cold breath he just uses it that as a quick 6 or a quick thing on the Fly. But he can change his energy into cold energy or heat or lightning or poison or radiation. Which also leads me to the reason why he can fly and has partial mental powers! His mental abilities probably can't match up to Professor X or anything but they're pretty good. He can convert his energy into making him even smarter!!!! through turning it into mental energy. Now the last time you commented on one of my comments, you inferred I would relate him to Superman. Now if you see the way Sentry moves about and act, you'll see why I say he's a Superman rip off. Specially with this void bulshit!!!! Why can't he transcend universes and fight Superman possessed by the Yellow Lantern Corps?!?! Let's see who tears who in half then!!!! People have said that he is on Pre-crisis superman's level but besides moving the solar system for a year I don't see that being anywhere close to the truth. To me he's more on Post-crisis superman's level cause he crushed a pencil and turned it into Diamond like superman did with coal, fly to different galaxies which Post crisis has done and took a nuclear bomb which superman has also done but he does outmatch superman in combat. Mr Majestic is a cooler character with a cooler costume, He Remindsme more of Thor with Superman's powerset only with a little more powers.

Fun fact: Majestic actually fought Superman once, and Superman even admitted that Majestic was “slightly” stronger than him.

Problem with that is majestic himself said that they are equal. Also, superman always “admitted” to other characters being as strong or stronger than himself. He has no ounce of pride. Captain atom said that majestic is NOT as strong as superman.

If everyone just thought about it,Superman has a mostly basic power set. Strength,flight,invulnerability. The persona of the characters are what makes them and honestly,Clark is the 1st and most boring of those who have that power set.
