I can't believe that's true! I think the Madurai Meenakshi temple is a big attraction. I visited in 2013 and definitely plan to take my family there once more.. just to show them how grand and spiritual it is.
Why do you think so? I'm sorry about your own experiences, but Madurai is our pride! And even citywise, Madurai is actually quite refreshing! There are scopes to get a little cleaner though (I feel even Coimbatore is somewhat cleaner, but that's just me), but apart from that no other complaints...
