Thats what you get with incompatint government people who are not held accountable for their jobs. Dam gates should have been opened much earlier, should have learned about weather systems. Fire government workers that are responsible and have them pay for ALL damages.
Do you live here? You would know the Wolf River is completely natural north of Shawano Dam and the Little Wolf and Embarrass River only have a few small mill ponds. Lots of natural rivers in this area with rock falls.
This is what almost happened to the Oroville Damn in 2023. Only the Oroville dam is 770 ft high...imagine that much water behind it.

These old dams should all be removed and rehabilitate the rivers back to their natural banks.

I have video of the flooding, it was pouring rain for 2 hours 8:30-10:30 am, Didn’t stop raining until after noon here in Clintonville.
