Oh, Samaritan Purse! I heard this from my brother who is a Pastor and their church was giving this gifts which are received from abroad. Such a blessing to the children. Thank you for the tips about packing a gift.
Yes, these gifts are such a blessing to so many pastors and churches. What a wonderful way to share the gospel.
Thank you for making this video! It is nice to hear from someone on the receiving end give some feedback.
My pleasure! I am so glad it was helpful... I need to make another one with a few tips I forgot about.

I love doing this each year for church. Thank you for these helpful tips. I want to put meaningful items in the box. God-bless you for your ministry.
Thanks for taking the time to bless kids by giving these boxes! By giving boxes you take part of so many ministries around the world.
Beautiful and very helpful tips....God bless your ministry. 🙏
Glad it was helpful!
watching this over again.. i love seeing this
So glad you enjoyed it. :) Blessings.
Writing out the prayer is such a wonderful idea. It's always encouraging to know that someone is praying for you no matter where they are. This is awesome!
Absolutely! It helps the kids to have a tangible reminder that they are prayed for and cared for too.
This is a great way of showing God's love and care and sharing His gifts. It shows the presence of God and brings smiles on children's faces.
God bless you and your ministry 🙏

Yes, these gifts are a huge blessing to the kids in our area.
Great video! I wonder how candy got through? It is on the do not send list and is removed at the Processing Center. I’ve never heard about the kids needing graph paper. This is great to know! Thank you for sharing your first hand experience!
No idea. I thought candy was on the list of things that were not allowed, but somehow it did slip through. So, it is always good to remind people. :)
I am curious about which countries use graph paper for school. I can only speak to Ecuador and Colombia, but I am sure many other countries are similar.
In Mexico the kids in school also use graph paper.
@@10woodies Great to know... It appears to be pretty common throughout Latin America. :)
Thanks for sharing these tips, they are really helpful
You're so welcome! Hoping it makes packing a box a little easier.
I love your ministry. May God continue to bless you more
Thank you so much. May God bless you as well.
Ugh yes! Label them right! And great tips on packaging.
Right?! It has been a challenge multiple times when boxes come mislabeled...
Love your tips! I try to follow these suggestions myself as a year-round packer. I also love filling every single space in the box! ❤
Great tip! So many things can be added into the little spaces.
Oh!!! I really enjoyed hearing this from on the field❤️ keep making videos!!!
More to come! We are hoping to receive boxes this year from OCC and if so we will post videos so that you all can see that whole process of what it looks like once the boxes arrive over seas.
@@BarretoFamily that would be amazing❤️
This is awesome! Some great ideas of what to put in the Christmas boxes. Love the wow items!
The kids love the wow items too ;)
What about envelope paper and stamps
Hello! Hola! Thank you for sharing this great informative video. Graph paper caught my attention after your comment. You helped bring back memories of using it in school back in Cuba. I’ve been including spiral wide and college rule notebooks. Will definitely add graph notebooks in my 2022 boxes. Again, thank you! I’ve subscribed to your channel. Looking forward to your future videos.
Glad the tips were helpful. I was surprised that graph paper is so widely used here in Latin America. I would be curious to know about other parts of the world too. Thank you for continuing to bless kids with boxes.
Oh so sad for the children when they open the box and find the items not suitable. Great ideas which I’ll remember next time I pack the box. God bless your ministry 🙏🏼 I’ve subscribed to your channel. May it continue to grow for greater awareness of this ministry 👏🏽
Yes, thankfully we have generally been able to find something for the child, but it is definitely important to be cautious of sizes. So glad this video will be helpful in the future.
Thanks for the tip on graph paper!!
You bet!
You have answered alot a of the questions I have been wanting to know, I been wondering if I'm sending the right things, are they going to love it and all of that. So thank you so much
So glad this video was helpful. I am doing a Q&A soon, so if you have any more questions about OCC let me know. :)
Thank you for this super practical content. It is so helpful to hear your perspective!
You are very welcome! Glad it was helpful.
I have never heard of graph paper before...what does it look like?? You have great suggestions!!
It is paper where the lines form a grid instead of just straight lines.

Thank you for your video . can you pack spoons ,forks, plates and thing like that or would the children find this type of thing boring?
As long as your area allows you to pack those items they are definitely acceptable. I think they would make a great addition to a box to add filler to a box. I would just make sure to include a variety of things in addition to the utensils. 👍
Just wondering - when I first filled the shoeboxes , toothpaste was allowed; now it's not - what about those new toothpaste tablets, that you can bite, and they turn into toothpaste in your mouth. Do you know if these are approved for the boxes? Thanks so much for a great video, full of great tips ! Keep up your great work!
God bless you and your family 🙏
I honestly don't know if toothpaste tablets are allowed or if kids would even know what to do with them. I'm getting ready to make an OCC Q&A video. Although I don't have an answer, I'll ask the audience and see if anyone else can give us an answer.
@@BarretoFamily thanks so much! 🙂
Our church here in the Philippines received boxes of your charity works. Amen
I have never heard of your charity works. Is it a similar concept? Is the goal to preach the gospel to the kids who get a gift?
How do you feel about boxes with reusable minstrel pads for 10-14 girls? I don't send them because a friend went to a distribution in Africa and said it was embarrassing.
Yeah, I can see that. Kids get embarrassed by underwear too. I guess what I would recommend is putting them in a zipper bag at the bottom of the box. Most of the time kids don't unpack the whole box at the event because there isn't space and they don't want to lose anything. So, if it is at the bottom they probably won't see it until home. And, if it is in a zipper pouch that you can't see into, they can discreetly close it so nobody sees.
It isn't a common item I see sent, but if yo do, this is a good way to do it to camouflage it a bit.
Oh, and if you send them, please include a visual set of directions that shows proper use and cleaning. ;)
I have heard that it’s a good idea to send them, ( use a bag or pouch they can keep them in when not in use) because the older girls sometimes can’t go to school when they are on their periods. Or the traditional period managment items in their culture are primitive and can cause problems when going to school. . So the reusable menstural pads are a good idea. You need to enclose a instruction card so the girl knows how to use them, attach them to her panties , wash the, etc.
I’ve also heard it’s a good idea to send panties , also in a small bag. The bags themselves become useful to the child.
