Is the WD- black for PS 5 is a enough storage to get game because I'm getting GTA 5 and call of duty cold war and fortnite and Friday the 13
Any idea when the PS5 slim will be coming out?
Can you use the Portal as an additional controller? ie 1 player using a Dual Sense via the TV, and another player using the Portal via Remote Play? I used to do this with the Vita and PS4 Remote Play, so hoping it’s still the case. 😊
Is the usb c port charge only, or can it be used for audio output with usb c headphones?
Hello, if my daughter who has a separate guest account on my ps5 wants to play, can you swap the account used on the device easily or profile?
As a father of two young kids, i believe this product was designed for me. If we have a lazy day around the house, I can let them have the tv and i dont have to wait til they go to bed to play games. Pre-ordered weeks ago.
Do yourself a favor and get a steam deck
@@Mybasedworld You don't even know if he owns a PC or not (he would have to buy a whole new library), but still you feel compelled to recommend him to buy a device that costs twice as much.
I wonder why it bothers you so much, it's weird.
iPad and ps5 controller does the same thing (if you have it) 🤷🏾♂️
The only issue would be if they wanna play ps5 too you would need another ps5 to play this since it’s only mirrored
probably better to buy another TV
Thank you for your review.
👍
Nice
So nice
Nice
Good
I feel like it was a missed opportunity to have this as a stand alone handheld device
Bring back the PSP😢
Agree
literally everyone agrees with you
On the surface yeah but it wouldn't have worked in practice
@@PauSe312Or buy a Steam Deck maybe?
Thank you for such a well thought out review, you answered every question I could’ve come up with.
Lot of people definitely might not find a purpose for this but for parents out there, this is gold.
This is absolute shit, absolute trash and a waste of money. for the same price you can get a nintendo switch which is an entire console on itself
It’s called a phone and a back bone😂 💀 edit: Wii U
just get a steam deck, jfc
If you have kids and can manage latest tech console you must be a drug dealer, politician, renowned artist or even a genius scientist to be able to afford these damn things
@@jc-nr2hy He's saying its a cool affordable gadget for the kiddos. The steam deck is pricier.
I don't think you can appreciate how good your videos actually are. Very informative and to the point. Keep it up👍🏾
I have a Backbone with my iPhone and find myself holding it a little too close to my face due to my screen being so small, so I was glad when I saw how big the screen is. I appreciate this video and your honesty.
Excellent review. Tackling all the aspects that I was wondering.
You actually can use remote play as a second controller, i've played many times like that. You do remote play as player 1 and use a regular dualshock as player too. You can do the same with xbox. You cant connect directly but you can use as second controller. Its sometimes useful. Another use is for who wants to save cellphone battery using a portal instead. Last advantage is use a pal's console, you dont nees to use it with your own console, as long as not in the same time (on single player games)
so if you were playing a fighting game like mk1 you could use this as a control? just it wont show up on the screen?
That’s how I connected an Xbox controller to a Ps5
They lost me solely for all the limitations it has for being actually portable. It looks awesome, if it was more like a switch then I would not hesitate to buy.
It would cost way more. Also you never know, their may be something they add for that capability
@@iinfluencedyoufor $100 more you can get a steam deck that plays games and can stream your ps5 as well
@@iinfluencedyou agreed, 300 bucks is great price. The Rog ally is 900
@@user-wv9ht6xw9iIt is a whole gaming computer for 900 tho
It’s also too laggy to play anything online
Input delay is bad even with 500+ download speed😊
nice portal! im finally able to get mine today! Had to wait for stock to come in. Got my carry case from amazon and im trying to decide if i want to get the glass screen protector or not. Do you have any opinion on the screen protectors?
Wow what a thorough and great review! I appreciate how well you did this! New subscriber now!
Thanks for the sub!
Sick, bro! Hyped for mine to arrive on Wednesday.
Best review I've seen on this yet. Answered every single question I had, thanks mate. Definitely going to subscribe!
Thanks for the sub!
Great review!
I really wonder at their decision to not allow us to use this as a second controller for the console. Surely there’s nothing stopping it?
Nice portal 💙
Thank you for the video.
I was so looking forward in playing MW3 and BF 2042 with the portal but you told us there is a lot of lag.
Do you still think I should get it?
Thanks for the review! It’s exactly what I hoped it would be and you confirmed that.
You hoped it would be a locked down piece of trash?
Can't wait to use it in two days. I dont play multiplayer games anymore, but often I don't want to sit behind my desk to play. Sometimes I just sit downstairs in the living room while my parents watch tv, or when I'm in bed, or in the garden. Now I can play everywhere. I think this device makes me play games 2 times more than usual. I hope it's great. Nice Portal 💙
Exactly the same reason why i bought it to👍
Quick question do i need to carry my ps5 to play it whenever off road
Thanks for this fantastic review! I know you mentioned about playing at home, not sure if it can be done while travelling to another country?
The Matilda shot at 6:28 made my day 🥲
NO WAY GARRETT! MY GIRLFRIEND AND I LOVE YOU AND YOUR VIDEOS
Is that Matilda?
Yeah I burst out laughing at that point!
Can we play Tekken 7 on PS portal
Absolutely mind blowing that they won’t allow you to stream any of the cloud games from your PS Plus subscription. Such a strange choice when it seems like a perfect use case for the Portal.
They are working on a cloud specif8cnservice like Microsoft
It's actually Not mind blowing. I still have my mind. Not blown out.
I'm guessing your new to electronics and gaming, They never release everything all at once with the best of everything. This is literally the first version of this type of gaming device, wait for the PSP Pro and other features to come out. Be patient lad.
Probably don’t want it to affect PS5 sales.
It would probably cause too much latency from streaming a cloud game from the PS5 to the Portal. It could possibly come in a future updates though as they continue to improve remote play
@@xjumpmaster82🤓
Nice Portal! 💙
So apart from physical portability, how does this compare to an iPad Pro 12.9” with a DualSense controller connected to it? I tried this out on the same WiFi network (which exceeds the recommended requirements). The resolution looks great but the frame rate seems to drop from time to time. Playing Trails to Reverie.
leaving a message because i also want to know ( i also use iPad Pro with controller for remote play)
Nice Portal, it does look great and at £200 might be worth it, but as you have said, more so if they open it up to the Direct Streaming from the Gaming Cloud then yes it would then become more versatile and thus more worth the money, even though as you point out about the 'Backbone' and if that is worth £100 then unreservedly it is worth the money in that case!
mines is so laggy
I absolutely need one of these! I have used a lot of remote play on my phone and this is going to be a real game changer for me!
Cool
Yes, save that phone battery for more important things 👍🏾 it’s crazy how battery anxiety isn’t a real problem until it is.
@@Digital-_-SpiritFAX
I've been using my iPad pro for this already and I must say I'm impressed how very low lag it produces and has works excellent 👌🏽 for me. I connect either a PS5 controller via bluetooth or straight wire both works GREAT in my experience 😜
Yeah I too have been doing that with an iPad Pro for years now and it’s pretty good, but it’s still two separate devices and I have to sit at a table to use it. I’m getting this so I can lay back in bed and on the couch and play even more comfortably and only have to use one device. Also, I really like that it’s part of the Sony ecosystem and I don’t have to use a third party device to play my games away from the TV. This will be a more portable option that my iPad and controller set up and I’m so excited for it 😂 now I can set up my iPad outside and play CZcams videos while I also smoke a blunt and play ps5 on the portal ✅✅ lol
Me too. But I hate carrying my iPad and a remote, just to play on the go…even with the ps backbone and ph. This is better 😜
I’ve tried pc, Mac, wired, wireless, iPhone, and iPad with remote play and the lag is why I’m getting this device.
@@thevolta89do you think this will have less lag there Volta? I was thinking about just using one of the other devices you mentioned but I didn’t know if the lag would cause some games to be unplayable vs using the Portal instead of
@@hdroid18 Tell you what, @ me here in two days in case I don’t remember but I’m going to get mine tomorrow so I can report back.
But according to Some articles talking about their means of connection via their hardware, the lag is less. I also saw a dude on Reddit do tests and mentioned it only like 2 milliseconds behinds a dualsense controller which is nuts.
Nice video as always mate!! I pre-ordered mine earlier today and just now it hit me; what to do when the thumbsticks start to drift? :/
Do you have to manually switch on your ps5 to use the device or can you switch it on from the portal ?
As always your videos are the best man, the editing and presentation is always crisp and top notch. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for the positive feedback.
ok
It's cool but since you can't use it separately dumba it down for me a waist of money
@@SpawnPoiint Hmm Very nice New consoled of The ps5 Portal like Nintendo lite #playstation 📲 !
Thank you for your review. Thank you for focusing on what this device was actually made for. I was 95% sold on this because I have only one big TV in my home and and so I am restricted to gaming for 2 hours a day after work if I'm luck or gaming overnight on weekends when everyone else is sleeping.
With the connectivity question answered, I will definitely try this.
There’s a lot of hate for this device. But for what it’s supposed to do it’s good.
@@SpawnPoiintwhat are the main reasons for it receiving a lot of hate... Seems to that if it connects well and isnt laggy, that this should work pretty well!
For the price couldn’t you just buy another tv
@@joostdijkema6659Main reasons is that it’s a remote play device and you must have an internet connection which completely defeats the purpose of a portable device and the ps5 portal is not like psp ,those are the main criticisms.
@@joostdijkema6659no Bluetooth and if you have to sign in to public Wi-Fi or have to accept terms you can't use it. You basically need a unlimited hotspot to use it away from home. Hotels and most public places require at least a agree to terms to use WiFi.
Nice Portal 💙 Thank you for the very detailed review!
I’m wondering lastly if I were to log into the ps5 and then someone come behind me and log in as well, would I be able to play on the portal on my account while they plaid another game on the tv on their account? I’m assuming no because you said you can’t play two different games but is that also considering two different accounts?
Question. Can you play on this remotely with your main living room console while others use the same console to watch a movie on it?
Nice Portal!
Great video and makes me want one even more! I’m currently playing Remote Play via the app on my phone with a controller mount - but would just leave the seamless experience this can offer!
Cannot wait to snag myself one!
The 8 inch screen seems really nice!
A nice and well Explained video as always.Appreciate the efforts you put into these videos man,Definitely buying it asap🤘🏻.
Nice portal.Great review,I want one.
Thank you for the thorough analysis.
Nice Portal! I had really been wondering how well this functions as a true remote play device as I am frequently away from home for work in another state, but don’t want to bring my entire PS Setup. I will look forward to truly testing this out in the future. Disappointed with the apparent lag from COD, however, since that would be my go-to game :(
Buy a PSVita.
@@justinkaufman495facts
@justinkaufman495 what are u saying u didn't listen the video u can't do that smh
@nicobailey3264 I'm not sure what you're question is. I watched the video. I've been following this thing for the past year now. It sucks. The PSVita is fucking classic. You can still buy one today, and it dose what this thing does but better. If you still have a PS4 you can even use it to play ps4 games. I'm not sure if it works with the PS5 now but even if it doesn't its better than this piece of shit.
@@nicobailey3264 yeah there are literally multiple other reviews showing the person somewhere other than on their home wifi playing this remotely. PS5 at home, this at work, etc. That’s the point. If it can’t truly remote play what’s the point.
Easily the best and most in-depth up-to-date video on the PS Portal. Masterful job. Thank you so much! Can't wait for mine to come in a few days :)
Thank you 🙏
ok
Dude just buy a switch or the new stranden. And if u really want to stream buy a good tablet with a controller, the man really just said it has no ability other then play games in home how desperate of a gadget junkies do you people have to be 😅
@spawnpoiint Does the charging cord provided come in a good length where it would be ok to charge it while your using it?
1) At home network do u use cable from Ps5>Router, or is it just fine if it is wireless as well?
2) Also at home network, does the internet is required? or u can "unplug your router" from the World of internet, and just play localy in your home network?
(i am asking 'cause sometimes the Home router is so far in the house that u can move it and the signal is too week through all the walls, so if i could just use local router that i can move around in our livingroom without the need for the internet, it would help).
Thx
you will get high latency and stuttering no matter if the PS5 is wired or wireless. The fact that the portable is wireless alone significantly increases latency.
Great review. Can't wait until the 15th. I work from home & this will allow me to play while working.
Nice vid! Been watching your stuff while waiting for my ps5
Hope you enjoy it! Thank you too.
It's handy for and my household, the misses just got this for me for Christmas and I'm buzzing 😎
Just order mine yesterday I should have it in a couple of days I’m excited to use it at work 😅
I love it!! Can't wait to get mine on delivered on Launch day!!
I'm glad you covered the streaming of media apps and cloud gamming. Alot of reviews didn't. I would definately hit on this handheld but for now I will wait to see if they eventual unlock.
Nice Portal 💙 My issue with this and remote play in general is the connection to my PS5. I have recently upgraded to Full Fibre (400Mbs) but the console is on wi-fi so will this still be as good as shown here?!?!
Does the portal just work for digital only games? Or can I also play the game of which disk is in my ps5 at that moment?
Hey there! Great breakdown and overview of the device. One of the better ones I’ve seen. Just a question, what was your experience like using the Portal in different rooms in your home? Do you have a Mesh wifi setup to help mitigate any possible lag from using it away from the PS5?
Watch the video
I honestly would have nearly paid $400 for a new PlayStation handheld that could natively play the entire PS4 back catalog as well as stream the PS5 (or play lower-spec PS5 games). Knowing things like the Steam Deck are more powerful than the PS4, it's more than possible, and because it's Sony, they have the ability to shrink the die of a PS4 APU to make it much more power efficient.
I wish😢
I wish too. i feel like The markets too competitive though. Switch and steam deck do it so well. Plus, they probably still have PTSD for how hard ps vita loss them.
Sony wont go to that market again after the vita. The model of creating 2 version of every game are not profitable. Sony makes money mostly from software.
@@AndrewHadi07 This time around they wouldn't have to. this handheld I'm thinking of would just have a die-shrunk PS4 APU in it, so PS4 games would natively play
Excellent Review! I'd definitely use one.Nice Portal.
Does this work while travelling? Ive heard alot of feedback saying both yes and No so i really just dont know
finally someone answered the question about ps5 needing to be fully on or rest mode
literally.
This was my main wonder. Just got mine a couple of days ago. Still trying to figure out how to run the Portal while my PS5 is in rest mode.
Can I use it to turn on my console remotely? Can I use it using a different wifi network?
I will say - I reckon they lost money not having this out during Covid - Imagine the man hours people would've put on PlayStation if they could be anywhere in their home whilst on the console. Nice Portal 💙
No kidding, it would’ve sold like hot cakes
There is always the next virus.
Yeah because they couldn’t use their TV’s while at home because COVID something something.
@@henrybarney3202 I could see it, parents whose kids are stuck on the TVs, gamers whose main setup isn't in their main space / room etc.
I'm looking at it from a living with family standpoint.
I remember vita and psp fanboys calling this stupid or saying to just get phone attachments. People finally getting what it's meant for 😅 I honestly love this and can't wait to pick it up. Especially as a dad with a family tv.
Hi. I just got a Portal and I’d like to ask a question. When I have been using it, I’ve noticed that the control sticks have less resistance when I push them in comparison to a Duelsense, which has more resistance when pushed. Is it the same for you?
There is one question i want to ask as I'm interested in purchasing one (available in my country/region early feb 2024), obviously you can play games that you've purchased digitally and through playstation plus but if you own the game/'s in physical copy can you still play them through the ps portal whilst the disc is inserted into the console?
Great, thorough review! The fact that it doesn't support Bluetooth headphones is mind boggling, otherwise it seems like a cool device.
PS5 doesn't either, you need a dongle to even use a PlayStation brand headset
@@covidoutdat19thwardyaheardmereally, didn’t know that about the ps5. I wonder if it will work via my tv’s bluetooth🤔
I didn’t know that PS5 doesn’t support BT with other headphones other than what is compatible with the PS5. I bought a dongle off Amazon. It’s the Avantree C81 USB-C BT adapter. It has a USB-C as well as a headphone jack that is BT compatible. It is the best thing I bought for my PS5.
It doesn’t have Bluetooth, but it has an entire button dedicated solely to PlayStation Link headphone pairing.
I remember the switch didn’t support Bluetooth but they eventually added it later so hopefully that happens
Nice portal 💙 I'm happy with this review I pre ordered the portal a few days ago (took a while to get it) but my main concern was the lag and this review definitely helped me feel more justified in my purchase thank you!
@@silvarian steam deck is super cool! But I'm gonna be honest I have my portal already and it's sick it's works for my needs as a dad and husband who's wife loves to watch her shows. It would be much better if this thing could go offline but i knew I'd use this for couch gaming while tending to my newborn and the wife watches TV and In bed its also cool that I can take this to say a family members house or a friends and not have to haul my entire PS5 with me
It looks awesome. The only issue is if the controller buttons mess up or analog you have to send the whole thing in to fix. I wonder how the warranty is.
To play you need to have a PS5 and a cell phone with a common controller, it connects even faster with remote play, since this shit Playstation Portal has an Adeno 610 processor
how does it work with a disc game? so you have to start your ps5, load the disc, put ps5 in rest mode and then switch to the remote... it works better with digital games?
It looks so cool. And if they got it to where it could do the cloud gaming independently, I would be all on board.
They refuse to do it.
You’re forced to have your ps5 turned on while gaming outside of your home
@@kxnzo1089but you can be away from home?
@@--PaZuZu--wtf you talking about. Can be played anywhere with any kind of internet connection
@@--PaZuZu--your completely wrong, you only need a Wifi connection to connect, you don’t need to be near your PS5, you could be in another country in a hotel on Wi-Fi and it would work perfectly because it’s all about your Wi-Fi strength and not how close your console is.
Nice portal 💙
It is up to Sony now to either make this device a beast or a forgettable device, allowing cloud streaming and some sort of menu to download media apps or stream them from your console would make a world of difference IMO
This the one. Sony has an habit of making dope devices and giving up support. Let’s change the narrative. Streaming and apps would be freaking god send with this device.
The proprietary playstation link instead of bluetooth is a major red flag for me.
@@turismoride6617 True!

Nice Portal! Great review 👏🏾 👌🏾
So you can play in another country or on a trip if you have your ps5 on at home?
Yes, so long as you have WiFi wherever you are.
This looked so damn good and I was thinking of buying it but not being able to use it as a second controller really disinterests me on it
Great review as always! A few very minor things aside, I’m incredibly hyped to get my hands on it and have some fun!
This wasn't a review. This was an ad without the ad notification.
@pidow ???
Can you please test if local co-op can work while the PlayStation portal is at another place like a friends house? Diablo 4
the addition to stream it anywhere with wifi just solidifies that i need to buy it. i always put my ps5 in rest mode anyway to prevent database damage, so this will be perfect to play some bloodborne at class😏
Great review!! I pre ordered one last week & can’t wait to get it on Wednesday!! Hopefully there’s cases that we can buy for it so we don’t break it. Always love your reviews!!
Venom case on amazon but not out till December...case, screen protector and thumbgrips for £20
Do you need the set up for the remote to work?
When playing the portal, does the disc need to be loaded into the PS5 to play. Or, are you able to play any disc game regardless of whether the disc is loaded or not?
Disk is required, basically this device is just a screen of PS5, everything needs to be done on ur ps5.
Wait, you're filming this on your phone? And your visuals are that clean? Insane... Super excited for the PS Portal too.
Haha yes. Everything I create online is on iPhone.
Almost answered all my questions.
I just want to know how the actual streaming performance compares to Remote Play on other devices (iOS, Android, PC/Mac). Since its a bespoke system does it have any inherent advantages from a software POV?
Aside from that, great review.
You can test regular remote play now on any device. It works decent but its not streamlined. It has acceptable quality of remote play but from all the reviews i have seen so far is that it is quicker than using a third party device
There is no changes on The backend. You get The same results on The remote app as this device more or less. There is nothing that is integrated on The portal that boost lag vs other devices.
@@LegionzGG
This is not true. If you have used remote play on a third party device then you know that because you are connecting to the app which connects to your PS5 that maintaining a stable connection on both the app and the PS5 creates latency or dropped connection. Because the portal has the remote play app built into the OS directly, the Portal maintains a stable connection longer with less points of failure between the user and the PS5 because you don't have to access the app the Portal OS is the remote play app. Every review I have seen from trusted third party reviewers says that the connection is faster and more stable which is not what anyone who has used remote play on any consistent basis would describe using a thirs party device. Usually you get minor disconnects from either the app or the PS5 over longer gameplay sessions but no one has reported that kind of same issue using the portal. It is not intended to revolutionize the remote play feature PS created in 2012, it is intended to make it better. And by all accounts thus far it seems to be doing that.
When you use it away from home, does the PS5 display also start showing at home?
Thank you for all your information it helped me plus earbuds don’t like my ears so I’m getting the headset when they come out
Do you think the streaming connection is better on the device compared to something like the backbone? Like in terms of lag and latency?
that's a great question
its a shame he didn't compare it to the backbone which he obviously has
no
@@c-tothefourth4879 Do you have any source for that? Or do you just hate the portal like bunch of other people?
People seem to forget that the backbone is just a controller . You take it for granted u already have a phone . But see you seem to forget that you had to buy the phone at some point . Backbone is useless unless it’s connected in someway to another device that is sold separate
You mean compared to a phone right? Because the backbone is pretty useless without one
Definitely picking this up, it’s a must cop for a Dad who games
haha that's exactly my thinking too
Same. I have a 3 and 2 year old. I rarely get to play my PS5. Yet, I have Spider-man and Baldur's Gate. So this will be perfect for those.
@kannon6372 I don't think the PS5 can play two games at the same time, so you can only use it when your console is free.
You could always use remote play app from Sony on your phone.
It’s perfect for bedtime too!
How do you charge it ? Do you need to charge it with the ps5 ??
Do i need to put my ps5 on rest mode or turn off completely to you use it either at my work place or away from the tv.
Hol'up, what's the airplane mode for???
This was a great video! I tried to use my backbone this weekend with remote play and the app would not work with the backbone controller. I didn't have issues in the past till this weekend, not sure if it is related to this new device coming out. Nice portal!
Was it the white controller or black one?

Just purchased one for my fiance! Thanks for your review! I was hesitant at first but! I know he'll love it!
Do you need a ps5 to be able to set it up?
Great video here. I've been using mine for 3 days now and am extremely impressed and happy with it. This is a new device and I'm sure this will be updated with more features as we go along. Thank you for mentioning the touch screen buttons. I had to check the user manual to find that out.
The only way it can get updated is if Sony updates their PS5.
@@Leafwink then let's keep our fingers crossed they do it.
How's lag?
Looks really tempting to get now after your review. It differently needs a carrying case though.
I have a question. My dad has one. I want to get one but I would have to use his PS5 to connect to ( the one that he connect to with his portal) will it work if I get one ? Ik we can’t use it at the same time
Question: if my ps5 is in rest mode, and I go to let’s say get my oil change. Can I connect to a WiFi (assuming it’s strong enough) and play my games? OR is this a portable device that’s just for “around the house?”
A lot of people won’t understand the need for this type of device since it isn’t standalone. But battery, screen size and just sheer usefulness of the portal has been amazing. You don’t have to waste phone battery to use remote play and now I don’t need to go all the way upstairs to my man cave just to olay 15 minutes of the ps5 before the kids get antsy 😂
Could already PS remote years ago. Most large phones are much bigger than original PSP. Don’t see a need when you can buy a backbone for $50 and take it anywhere since you already have a phone at all times.
For me it’s probably a day one buy, I know streaming handheld aren’t favorable by many because you need good wifi but for me, I don’t intend being in public with a handheld I just find that extra. The battery life and no hot temperatures and lightweight and still very great graphic fidelity at a good frame rate and haptic feedback. It’s basically all I’ve wanted. And all for $200 it’s pretty awesome
Ps sells a 200$ controller I would never buy...but this whole controller+screen I would buy multiple times every time.im sure somewhere down the line they will update it to be used as a ps5 controller and second screen similar to the wii-u
@edgarsuazo1950 That $200 ps edge controller is absolutely worth it if you play fps competitive games like Apex Legends, COD, Fornite, etc.; if not then no.
Don't forget your proprietary eony pulse wireless headphones that only work on the portal. Only 99 extra dollars lmao
@gabrielgalaxygh imagine the portal having a headphone jack because Bluetooth audio sucks lol 🤡🤡
@@MrReggar you still have corded headphones? Are you stuck in the early 2000s
Will u need your normal ps5 console to be connected as i wanted to get rid of that and use this instead more ideal 😊😊
Silly question, but do you have to physically change the game in your PS5 if you want to play another game and play it on your PS Portal?
yes
unless you have them digitally
Chris, can you please plug in your wireless headset adapter usb c into the Portal and let us know if that works the same way the PS5 does? Thanks
Just tested and at the moment it does NOT work. The USB dongle I have lights up when connected to the PS5. On the Portal there's no light at all, assuming no power is sent OUT of the port.
@SpawnPoiint Ahh man thanks for testing and actually getting back to me. I'm disappointed in Sony for this I can't lie, I bought the Inzone H3 wired to use with the Portal for now and have ordered some Pulse Elites for Feb 2024
Love your content man, videos are always clean an Krisppyyy!
This was extremely informative for someone like me who travels consistently for work, I wasn’t sure if you needed to be on the same wifi network as the device (PS5) but this is a nice start for PS if they’re serious about getting into the handheld royal rumble. The Only early gripe I see is not being able to swap out the thumb-stick modules but we cant have it all 😅.
Thanks man I appreciate it.
It will not connect to a public wifi, like in a hotel, because it lacks a browser. You will need to provide it a personal hot spot. No Bluetooth either...
2 questions: 1- Can all the profiles on your primary console (wife kids etc) also use the portal linked to that particular ps5?
2- how does rainbow six siege run on the portal (normal or slow)?
Nice portal 💙 I do wonder though 🤔 if the console needs to be on/in rest mode for you to use it, how can you use it away from home? Do you have to leave it on before you leave? Get someone to physically turn it on for you? Or do they have a remote app that can turn it on for you?
"The Portal can't play games by itself. Instead it streams them from your PS5. Think of it like a PS5 controller that sprouted a screen in the middle." Scott Stein, CNET
in the same way you can do this with your own cell phone using remote play
These are the type of reviews I love. Fantastic video.
Thank you 🙏
