That Meijer was a Kmart which closed March 10 2019 and was demolished and the Burger King just closed a few months ago

Sadly no food this time. Shocker, and it is a old school style building. So they just say have it your way, when you do come, you can't have it your way. Just doesn't make any sense.
Ahh classic night exploration with a flashlight. Definitely one of the best which beats all the glare from the sun at times. Had to do this in my recent abandoned Pizza Hut video I've told you about. Definitely helps see inside a lot better at times!

Oh man you were so close to one of the oldest Burger King's in the state. It's in Maple Hts. just a short drive away. It's now converted into a laundromat but has that early generation classic look. You mentioned that sign you recognized out front but do you know what the original sign from 1969 on that location in Maple Hts. looked like? The sign was the King seated on the Whopper sandwich! That was so cool. I worked there and that sign was replaced in 1974. While the old sign sat behind the restaurant while the owner decided what to do with it someone swiped it. A nice piece of nostalgia indeed.

Spring City PA Burger King has been abandoned since 2018 and the building is still sitting empty in early 2022.
There is an abandoned Burger King in Antioch, CA on E. 18th Street that closed a few years ago, and I believe it is still sitting there abandoned. The windows and doors were boarded up.
Closed shortly b4 you saw it, as in just a few weeks. I was 4 yrs old, 1978 when we started going there. That meijers was a kmart from '74 - '19. I worked at the kmart from '06-'12. I would buy gi Joe's and transformers at kmart in the 80s and go to that BK right after. That BK was busy, but that company mismanages $ so they started closing them. There's another closed 2 miles away at midtown/snow rd. Very sad. Lots of memories at both over 48 yrs.
This abandoned Burger King looks a lot like the recently abandoned Burger King in Elyria Ohio on Cleveland St.

I frequent Seven Hills and I’ve been to this exact area but somehow never noticed the abandoned BK. I’ll definitely check it out next time im in the area. very cool to see my local area in these videos :)
I used to go that Burger King as a kid. There used to be a K Mart where the Meijer is and we went there all the time. Also the Si Senior Restaurant by there used to be a Wendy’s
If you are on this side of town again soon you may want to check out this old vintage 70's style mcdonalds in parma it's on snow rd in the midtown plaza I have a feeling it might get remodeled soon as it's the last of it's style left in the area
It closed about a year back, I live in seven hills I loved that Burger King had many amazing memories there with my ex girlfriend and friends

I looked this up on Google maps street view, and if you go into the bk parking lot, there was a restaurant, I think an Arby's, was torn down for that one. The Meijer behind it used to be a Kmart.
No the Meijer is brand new! There used to be an old 60s kmart there that was abandoned for years but then was demolished

A great video, Wallie! We once had a Burger King here in Weirton,WV on Three Springs Drive, where the Dairy Queen is currently located, across the intersection from McDonald's. What are the odds of that?? LOL. I used to eat at the Weirton BK from the mid 70s--late 80s. BK went downhill after the 80s, in my opinion. I rarely eat at fast food restaurants, anymore. Have a KMartlicious Day!

I use to work here, it closed back in September, the boss in charge kept pushing over time and had everyone working with darn near no days off, I quit because i got tired of it, but after I left people just fled out one by one, there was no crew left, it was 4 people on day shift and would only be one on night, plus when the new boss came in people hated her 🤣🤣,

There's a fairly new Burger King about a 1/2 of a mile from where I live that's been closed about a year. This place just didn't get the business. It's right across the street from a NFL and Baseball stadium. I believe were it's positioned...behind a Gas Station. Is the reason why people pass it by. GREAT FIND WALLIE B

Bangor, Orono, Houlton and Presque Isle Maine all have BK that have closed in the past few years. Slow business and corporate not wanting to renew there franchise agreement. PS: they were all by the same owner.

It was open when meijer , was open but then a few months later it closed, then if you go down the road to Parma there is a burger king down there that is closed
We had a burger King close down near Downingtown pa a few years ago and since then it's became a Duncan doughnuts
I live 5 mins away from this one. The service there was MONUMENTALLY terrible. Also, that Meijer is brand spanking new. It used to be a K mart that was recently demolished.

I love Meijer it's my favorite grocery store. I am from Michigan which is where Meijer got its start so there are Meijer stores all over the place. I love their produce section.
This Burger King closed a few months after meijer opened. I don’t know why they didn’t just leave when they demolished the arbys and Kmart. Now it’s an eyesore!

Totally agree! That Burger King was always nasty. Should've been torn down when that other ugly big eyesore vacant Kmart got demolished. Meijer really rejuvenated what was a dead area for years. They need to tear that BK down and put up a Canes or Chik Fil A
Looking at the location on Google Street view. Timestamp September 2018. Still in business with flags flying overhead and the meijer was the old footprint of a Kmart. And the gas station was another fast food.

A new Burger King just opened in my area. I prefer that design over the one we have. Bucees opens in Crossville, Tn on July 4th.
Yeah we've got a Burger King here in Chesapeake Virginia on Battlefield Boulevard headed towards North Carolina that's been boarded up and probably been empty now at least 17 18 years I'm guessing
I never knew how to pronounce or what Meijer was to begin with because I don’t have those in Philadelphia area. I first heard of it through Flipp app. I looked it up and found it was a grocery store. That was a few years back after I discovered it in the Flipp App first.

there is another abandoned BK about 10 minutes away from this one, 1795 Snow Rd, Parma, OH 44134
In the snow, it looks it is sitting in a pile of mush with the snow the way it is.

I was surprised that one closed I actually noticed it one day and filmed it, it was interesting to explore

There's a Burger King in my neighborhood that as of 2 days ago,
They a nice sign on the Drive Thru
window which says " closed until further notice ' I sure would like to know when & if this store will reopen
or not ..... I don't necessarily understand this as that store was always busy for lunch & dinner rush,
Also many signs outside that say that they are or were now hiring ....
I guess we will give it a year & see

Their was three older Burger king one in Columbus and one in Dublin and reyenbuger but the one on in Columbus turned into a different restaurant I don't think it's going to last
