Absolutely stunning work particularly that sky Charlie. Truly mesmerising how skilfully you produce such a masterpiece so naturally and making it look all so easy! Once again, I’ve learned so much from your clear and humorous explanation from start to finish from brush strokes to colour mixing. I now feel confident to have a go and put what I’ve taken onboard onto paper and I’m particularly looking forward to the bish, bash, bosh bit! Thank you. Paul, Andalucía.
Hi Charles hope you and Gail are both well, I took a break today from painting and saw my wife watching Classic Emmerdale ( aaargh) and guess what, you were on, or rather Nathan Summers, now I have seen you paint a number of versions of this all around the country but this is the first time I have seen the original, WoW, What an absolutely fantastic painting, all of your work is superb but this one is my all time favourite, it’s beautiful. Stay safe hope to see you demonstrating at Ilkley.
You have an engaging personality, bit like myself really. Where we differ is, you can paint! Wonderful hour spent doing absolutely nothing, cept watching you doing your viewer proud. Many thanks.
Hi Charles This was the book that started it all for me, Pleased to say i got my copy signed when you did a demonstration in the fed brewery suite in Gateshead a long while ago, It really was the book that changed everything, So nice to see you turning out more youtube videos & Keep up the amazing work 😊. You are & always were a true inspiration.
Thanks very much Charles for giving us all some wonderful inspiration on these Lockdown days ! I have been hoping for a long time that you would return with another of your amazing watercolor tutorials Stay safe and well and kindest regards to you and yours!
i have tried this a couple of times and now i think I've got it right It really is a beautiful painting Thank you Charles I hope there may be other Moorland scenes coming up!
I have recently stumbled upon you and your art of watercolour. And, what a refreshing stumble it is. Your deliberate yet simple techniques have inspired me to take a more honest and nonjudgmental approach to my painting and to return to my first love of watercolours works by the late Arne Isacsson. Thank you, Charles.
This is gorgeous. I never laughed so much while watching a tutorial 😂. My grandchildren will love it when I show them how to paint the foreground and give them a piano lesson at the same time😂 they will love it. You make watercoloring so beautiful and fun at the same time. Thank you Charles?
Hi Charles another great painting thanks so much for sharing, so Inspiring love watching you and love your sense of humour, the painting behind you on the wall is amazing ,xx
Thank you sooo much Charles , the great artist for your lovely paintings .🙂👍🙏 Your demonstration is so lively & inspiring & sounds easy but actually it is very difficult . I'm learning now . So keep sending videos with easy techniques .🙂
Thank you Charlie, a newbie at this, found your video lessons extremely interesting and helpful. You make it look so easy but I know that's experience over many years. It's given me the confidence to give it a go. Just purchased said book from Amazon.
I really enjoyed the process.. It was very informative too and I like your sense of humour or rather your irreverent approach to painting.... Makes it easier to attempt painting... One takes it less earnestly and therefore willing to take risks.. Thanks
Charles, I checked out your website to purchase items. Do you ship to the US and is there a way to see what the cost is in American, or should I just convert it myself?
Thanks Charles for another fantastic video masterclass, I am a new subscriber to your channel. I was just interested if you wear wellies when you paint, as it looks like you have a lot of water on the floor when you squeeze out your brushes. You haven't changed much from your picture in your wonderful book. Well done charles you are a delight to watch and you have inspired me to do more watercolours, but I think my wife wouldn't like me to squeeze my brushes on the floor. Alan in Norfolk.
Awesome video, thanks for this content - it's helping with getting through the lockdown :) I've only just started painting and will be buying your books.
Inspiring as ever thank you. My day off tomorrow and think this will be my treat project for after breakfast. I highly recommend your pocket tips n technique book.
always learning something new!! i’m worried about trying this… i think i would end up trying to get so dark it would be a muddy mess for me… ill watch this several times before attempting😁 … its beautiful… I was fascinated by the sky; the yellow ochre stayed true…thoroughly enjoyed the story telling and history behind the art of watercolor… i love the pocket book too! thank you for teaching us!!
You nailed my #1 problem Charles. I'm too focused on details right off the bat, thus forgetting to set the backdrop and colors, then going back in for the details. I'm building the wall and not painting it...same with the house.Thank you so much for all these tips and techniques. I'm ordering your book today and I can't wait to get it.

Gracias
Charles, I’m trying to follow along but my colors are never as thick as yours. I’m using a Winsor & Newton pan palette. Do I need to switch to tubes to achieve thicker consistency? To get the color out of the pan I need to use water... and so I get watery colors. This makes it especially hard to stipple the grass. Is there a secret to using pan paint that I don’t know?
Thanks again Charlie. Hung onto that 80s hair band hair for a while did ya? QUESTION: Is that Langton paper cotton or wood pulp? There's no mention on your website . I know Langton Prestige is cotton. The paper you are using takes scraping well like a nicely sized pulp paper and lifts well. Lovely sky. Appreciate these lessons.😊

Mike L Holbein.

Thank you
Appreciate it Mr. Evans!

Ahahaha.
Genial!
At what pitch is your watercolour sheet?
Well it’s upright!! Did you mean the angle?
why doesnt your sky turn green when you overrun the blue to the yellow ochre ? thanks
It’s because it’s yellow ochre, it has a heavier brown content than the other yellows!
Does that make sense to you??
Brown and blue makes green Robert williams
