I'll be honest, I was always hesitant to listen to these mixes because my initial thought was, "why listen to something 'LIKE' Khruangbin when you can just listen to Khruangbin? No substitute." But I get it now. This volume has sold me. I love all of the artists featured who have their own unique vibe and similar funky, neo-psychadelic sound. I'm grateful for the new music. Now I have a whole new group of artists to enjoy!
It’s what you listen to when you’ve listened to all the Khruangbin and there’s no more Khruangbin cuz you listened to it all and you NEED. MORE. like you need to scratch that one part of your thigh that only ever itches during sex and just so hapens to be really difficult to reach mid-missionary (what, that doesn’t happen to you?) but yeah that’s what Khruangbin Vibes is for, scratching your itch, your vibe itch not your thigh itch

This is such a beautiful playlist. It's like eating candy under the bright sun when life isn't perfect - in fact it's a pain in the ass sometimes - but the little and ordinary things like a bike ride by yourself through the breezy summer days or the tea had in a quiet warm room on a winter noon or a smile from a stranger or other things - make it worthwhile. Whoever you are, I hope you are well. And if you aren't, you're gonna be fine.

Yup. Life sure can be rough at times. But it's all relative, no? ;-) I always try to think how much WORSE I could have it. That really helps put things in perspective.
Also, when life feels really tough...when you are down... ain't NOTHING wrong with reaching out to others. Screw pride/shame/embarrassment. Why suffer, if other humans can help you, even if in a small way?
So like... I broke my wrist a few months ago (and was in an arm cast for 6 weeks). Naturally, it happened on my dominant hand. ;-) And I live alone. Now, thankfully, I have a good number of great friends...neighbors...and family (though no family who live nearby)... Man, was it tough for me, those first two months. I mean, I couldn't tie a shoe...couldn't prepare any meals... couldn't type or write a note to myself...couldn't do laundry... You get the picture. Essentially, I could have used a 24/7 aide. But instead, I pieced together a network of help. I know everyone has their own lives and problems, and I didn't want to overburden anyone. So I'd ask one person to stop by...pick up my bag of laundry, and simply drop it off/pick it up after the laundromat did my laundry. I'd ask another neighbor to cut up some avocados for me and put them in a container for me, to eat later. Another friend would stop by, on a different day, and wash a few dishes, or change my bedsheets for me. I was lucky enough to be able to afford meal delivery. And even then, with all that assistance, I struggled much of the time, on my own. But I kept reminding myself, 'hey, at least you weren't in a horrific car crash, and now laid up in a hospital bed, with a metal 'cage' holding your head and spine in place, etc...
And tonight, I'm feeling slightly depressed...but this time, it's due to Seasonal Affective Disorder (something that's gotten worse for me, over the years). So I reached out to my neighbor downstairs, and with whom I'm friendly. We're not super close, but like we take care of each other's plants when one of us is travelling...or we occasionally share food we cooked, with each other. (I live in a pretty friendly building, and a large part of that stems from the fact that I myself am pretty social, and try to be a really good/friendly neighbor, always offering help to others when they are in need...) Anyway, I texted my neighbor and asked if he might want to pop by for a quick visit...that I could use a bit of company right now. So he did just that...he stopped by...and it DID help me. My lonely little apartment didn't feel quite so lonely and dark anymore. And, I figure that...by letting another human know that I was in need....that I was looking for just a bit of help from them...nothing too burdensome...that maybe in my own way, it's also giving THEM permission to do the same. (I think lots of times, people are afraid to SAY they need help...that they WANT help...they are afraid to ASK for help...but especially in a place like NYC - where I live - and where so many of us are indeed living on our own... well, is there really any need...does it really make sense for so many of us to suffer in silence, and if others can help us, even a tiny bit? ;-)

This is one of those playlists that you put on to listen to. Are surprised how good it is. Then listen to the whole thing, get to the end and not realise that it's been 1 hour. So then you have to listen to it again.

This volume autoplayed on my list and the singing caught me off guard. Did some digging, not gonna lie, I was very skeptical at first because Khruangbin is not an easy act to follow and for once, CZcams got the algorithm right! This is the musical collaboration I didn't even know I needed, kind of like an unexpected hug or a $20 bill in some old jeans. Glad that I stumbled across this.

in my opinion, the last two episodes of the series deviated slightly from khruangbing (vibes) and are more soulful chillout. which does not change the fact that the selection is at the highest level.

I know what you mean, with each volume it get’s harder to find sounds that really have a perfect fit to Khruangbin… those sounds are quite unique & are not so easy to find 😅 Been diggin in these sounds only for a few months so I have a lot to learn & discover ♥️ In the mean time let’s think that these series is one big festival of sounds that lean towards Khruangbin… the one more then the other, but still so good ♥️
