Great Voice! Spot-on the whole way through. My favorite part about PMJ other than fun creative interpretations of popular music, is that they showcase talented people who can actually Sing Really Well and Play Real Instruments.

A lot of older Green Day songs are simple but have amazing fundamentals that make them fantastic for covers. A ridiculous amount of them have crazy cover potential

The structure, chord progressions, tempo, and rhythm of most new songs already exist. I hope the cover more Green Day! A jazz noir version of Wake Me Up When September Ends?

I like the Green Day song, but I just LOVE this version. It's so effervescent and bubbly and bright and lemony in its appeal. It's so fresh and enchanting. For some reason I feel like most people feel this style lends credence to the lyrics, and they would rate the lyrics as better or more sophisticated just because of the style.

Amazing performance, perfectly on brand for the late '50s and wonderfully playful. The reference to Mrs Maisel certainly fits the disparity between the upbeat tune and the lyrics. Love it!

@@thirteenfury I suspect that in the 40s the false rhyme would have excluded it from airplay almost as much as having risque lyrics would. There was a lot more expectation of rhymes being perfect in those days.

lol I learn the lyrics to many songs via these covers. I always thought it was "am I just paranoid, or am I just _me_ " (Now that I know, it's probably because I usually listen to this on the radio and they censor "stoned" but I never picked up on it)

I got to see her last night live in Grand Rapids! She's awesome! And yes, she did wear that same dress. It's really perfect for the song. Those are actually palm fronds on the dress. She also did the trumpet part too. It took me several moments to figure out there wasn't someone playing a trumpet.
