The only thing I did different was I used a flex head ratcheting wrench to get the bolts going into the bumper out and it made those bolts way easier. I only had to remove the front screws to the wheel well cover that way.

I idid this today... and found your video... learned that I did need to drop the bumper... slightly intimidating, but I was done in under an hour... Your video helped me find all of the nuts, clips, etc... Gets a bit harder to keep my 2006 XE looking good as it piles on the years... but this replacement helped.... also just rattlecanning the A-Pilars around the windshield where the paint was no longer adhering and using Back To Black on the exterior plastics....... Anyway, she's not looking so worn out now! Thanks!

Nice write up man. If the aftermarket headlights are like the oem on adjusting beam height, you can use a Phillips screwdriver to make adjustments. I know I used to do the same thing, I see a head of a bolt and grab a socket or open wrench. Never knew those silver teeth are for a Phillips screwdriver

Thanks for making this video. The first time I changed my '06 Frontier headlights it was 5 ys old and took an entire Saturday as I pried on pieces trying to figure it out, and I remember removing the entire bumper. This time it took 1.5 hs with this video. btw, Nissan must not be paying electronic and plastic parts engineers what Toyota does. Replaced window motors and switches many times, tranny computer 90k mi, (must drop tranny), gas tank dropped for gauge 45k m., all spark coils around 90k mi, etc, etc, too many electrical parts to remember. Oddly no mechanical or drivetrain complaints after 168,000 mi, dragging a trailer much of the time.

A doe "helped" me loosen up things this morning. Now my bumper and grill is broken (so easy to remove grill when all the clips are sheared off), the mounts are pretty twisted, and the left headlight is smashed and pushed in. Got the replacement light on order. I'll have to see how badly the mount is bent when it gets here in 4 days. The bumper mounting bracket, I may have to get an estimate for. The hood has a baseball sized dimple in the front where the doe's head hit. The hood is deformed...it is right at the front and covered by the lip plate. The hood will need replacing. The doe was thrown 30 feet and barrel rolled 10 times before jumping up and running away...probably still has a headache. To all you deer out there: cross at the crosswalks and deer crossing signs, and always look both ways...and wear your reflective vests at night.
