    Do you agree with me and think this Nissan Pathfinder is a fantastic 4WD SUV or do you dislike it?

      Totally agree. I have a 2008, 4x4, the (rare) version with the 5.6 L from the Armada. 185,000 miles consumes no oil, runs hard.
      PS: Not sure if its covered in your vid yet ( as I have just started watching) but since its a 2007, you must replace the radiator or perform the bypass Asap to protect your tranny.

      we have a 08 4.0L in red, i absolutely love this car, we bought it used in 2011 and have about 120K miles on it, i take really good care of the car cus i love it so much and i want it to last a long time, i love the truck feel, it feels heavy and its very very roomy, once i put a whole refrigerator in the back, gas millage its horrible but we have a smaller more economical car we use daily. about 2 years ago the power steering had to be replaced, they found metal shavings in the power steering liquid, ended up replacing the pump, front axel and radiator, a little over 5K, i know the car is not worth that much but i think we have this car for a long time to come.

      Love our 2010. We off road regularly on the island (PNW), my tall teen has slept in it as the back seats all fold flat and there are even built in flaps to make a flat packing or sleeping surface. We pull a 10’ trailer no problem. And have driven it through slippery wet snowy conditions up the mountain. Big windows. Square shape for packing more.👌 Constantly use all seats with extra friends and family. Great vehicle for SUVrving.

    I have the exact colour, 2012 LE. Very pleasurable ride in terms of engine feel. The 4.0L is just so amazing to drive, and coupled with the 5 speed, shifting is smooth. Body on frame ensures good off-road spec. The 2008 and previous had transmission issues, but that can be corrected with a bypass if done in time.

    People need to stop talking about the poor gas mileage "in comparison". There is no comparison to the common SUV as they're AWD unibody while the R51 has a full frame and a 2-speed transfer case for a true 4x4. An actual comparison 4Runner, almost LandCruiser, LandRovers, Jeep Commander and such. As you said, it's a truck, it's a truck underneath and no fair to compare it to car-based SUV's.

Exclusive of the thirsty optional factory 5.6l it's enjoyable and reliable to drive. The V8 option was available from 08 to 12 to compete with the V8 4Runner. It was an option that's harder to find.

    Just bought a used 2005 SE with 162,000 miles, put eight thousand miles on it in one month and no major issues obviously keeping up regular maintenance. My kids love this thing. Only paid 3500 best 3500 I ever spent in my life. Handles well it doesn't look bad and like the video says for a midsize SUV the space is definitely convenient. I've seen a lot of videos of people bitching and complaining about this particular year maybe I just got lucky but I got to say Nissan have to hold their value to an extent my whole family has owned nothing but Nissan's and infiniti's for the past 20 years no major issues. My mother bought a 2004 Nissan Armada in 2004 and ran it to almost 500,000 miles before I took a shit.

      I also Just bought a 2005 LE with the same millage. No evidence of coolant in the transmission so far but I immediately bypassed the radiator anyway just for peace of mind. Its got a lot of rust from living in Illinois but the interior is damn near factory. lots of little issues I am working out and fixing as I notice them but overall absolutely love the truck. $5000.

  • @Reddy54
    @Reddy54 Před 9 měsíci +4

    Just make sure you either replace the radiator or do the transmission cooler bypass if you aren't towing. If you don't fix this, the transmission will be contaminated with antifreeze and that will kill it. Nissan never admitted the problem existed and they only warranteed it at a mileage that was earlier than the problem occurs. I can't emphasize enough. It's not if, it's when this will happen. Other than that, the only things i don't like is 1st gear is too low for the street. I wish there was a wsy to start up in 2nd and the gas mileage is pathetic. This is a great winter heavy, full frame, 4WD SUV.

    i have one like it 2007 v6 4.0 Full option and i a small turbo that I installed because in Saudi Arabia we have large sand dunes in offfroed so it is useful in climbing it The bumper bridge in the chassis was destroyed in a traffic accident in 2019, and we are the first owners of it, but repairing it would have been more expensive than buying a new one, and also after repairing it would not be the same, so we sold it to the scrapyard, but it is really a very good car if I want a practical car and It has a touch of luxury and calmness on the road and strength in the wilderness and even on the roads, races and drifting. It never let me down. Even I can race with it a Toyota Camry 2018 Garandi and win. I have tried and also a Chevrolet Caprice 8v. I have good memories with this car. I drove it. 600,000 km, and it really did not let me down in any way, and it would have completed had it not been for the accident now i have nissan navara 2015 Diesel I can tell I still have my Pathfinder in some way

    I've owned my r50 2000 (2'nd Gen) Pathy for almost 6 years now and it hasn't missed a beat. I've used it as my daily driver with MANY beach 4WD trips to the islands off Brisbane area in South east Queensland, Australia and it has NEVER let me down.
    I am looking to upgrade to something more modern yet don't want something with too much tech as that only leads to more problems. Was thinking a smaller SUV to save on fuel and was considering a Subaru Outback or XV (Crosstrek) yet that may struggle in dry sandy tracks of Moreton, North Stradbroke and Fraser islands.
    Thinking up going to the r51 (3'rd Gen) instead as I know it'll be just as reliable mechanical wise in particular. I just fear that cost at the bowser for filling up
