I am really glad to see him back on CZcams and trying to be consistent without compromising the quality. I had taken your documentary filmmaking course on Udemy and it was actually very helpful to me. I hope I can see more of your videos now.

Jonny, hearing you describe the adventure of your filmmaking career is so valuable. I started watching you about 5-years ago and was captured by your frank, open communication style. I watched your videos when looking to purchase the BMPCC4K about 4 years ago. Your practical approach was instructive and gave me the confidence to start. I kept your YT subscription (looking for any updates) while you were gone and glad you're back and covering storytelling tips again; that's where I'm headed. iPhone or Red, you give me what I need! I'll be coming back. Thanks, Les.

Awesome to hear! Yeah just tell stories that people care about. Leaving to film a project today where I mix iPhone and BMPCC4K and I think the match pretty well if you get it right.

Always enjoy your videos Jonny, great inspiration! You might want to check your audio mix as the music in only playing in the left channel.

Great you mention that was a total miss! Usually have a templates timeline and now I didn’t so missed it somehow

For me, the most valuable information was first, use the equipment, get used to it, Second, it was get the know the subject before you interview. Great post.

Welcome back, Jonny. Your point about getting people comfortable before doing an interview is gold. Stay safe. Don't get eaten by the corporate bear.

gear has nothing to do about it.
But since I got my miller tripod, the quality of my pan and the way I'm looking for shots have been better indeed.
It's not about the best camera or lense, that I agree.
But sound is good to get cool quality, like a good lav as you got for exemple, a simple sound recorder are doing the job !

Great video, Jonny. I love your style. No one like you on CZcams. Does ProTake support the Tentacle Track E? Or are you syncing by waveform?

Actually I find filmic pro to be better because of the time code reliability. Protake is suppose to work with it but I haven’t gotten the time code to work properly. But the log profile on Protake I prefer over filmic pro so it’s a compromise depending on the situation
