  • 2003 Enfield Bullet with Hitchcocks 612cc Conversion & 5 Speed box - video get a bit misty towards the end due to fine rain on the camera!! Dosent come out that well on the audio but you can hear the goldie pipe twittering on the overrun at the start of the ride.

Ta for that - see the RE speedo wanders about like my old Commando one did at higher speeds.

Speedo - I call it the "approxometer", the little pushbike speedo that you can see in the video is what I rely on!!

Hi there - the bike was a Hitchcocks 612 conversion, used to go really well. I sold it a few months after I made the video so no longer have it.

What is your high end speed. How much was your gas mileage affected? How difficult was the instal?

The 612 kit is easy to fit if you are reasonably competent with the spanners. It makes a huge difference. It vibrates much less and really does not affect fuel consumption. If memory serves it was geared for around 105MPH with the motor at peak power - cant remember the exact figures as I no longer have the bike. It was perfectly capable of 70 plus cruising on the motorway and was 100% reliable. I used to take it to arund the 85 mark pretty often with no isues. On normal A & B roads it is great fun to ride. The 612 kit is expensive these days, but well worth the expense if you like messing around with bikes and want to have something a bit different. I also fitted an uprated bob newby clutch as the standard clutch could not handle the power of the 612.
