When Sadhguru says "it does not exist", it doesn't mean it didn't happen. The meaning is, it happened but is not at this present moment happening unless one continues to carry it into every "today". Instead, we should acknowledge it happened, it caused us pain, confusion, fear, etc. However, we have the power of CHOICE, and we should choose to say, "Today is not yesterday and I choose today to live, to be in my power, to overcome. I choose today to be happy and explore the beautiful treasures in life." This is your power, so not give it over to anyone or any past event. Help others to discover their power as well. Rise up and be queens. Encourage other queens in the making 👸🏽

Another way to work with this type of shadow is to note the feelings. Say, "This is anger", acknowledge the feeling, and let it pass. "This is sadness", label it and let it pass, and wave goodbye to it.

I was very severely abused as a child- physically, mentally, emotionally & sexually. My father was an alcoholic, narcissistic pedophile and Mum a heroin junkie, blame for my experiences lies with my perpetrators however I used to blame mum for a lot of my trauma but then I realised that my trauma had actually occurred due to the trauma she herself had carried and as I grew up I watched as the choices she’d made ultimately lead to her life completely falling apart but she got back up and rebuilt it all, she didn’t just put herself back together either she put my whole family back together again.. She’s completely owned all her mistakes and becomes more and more evolved in her being everyday - As much as I blamed her for things when I was young I can’t thank her enough for the precious lessons I’ve learned from her. One thing in particular is this- Sure, I was once damaged by someone else but I can always repair any and all damage on this journey not just by surviving but by always striving to be the very best version of me. And something I’ve always told myself is- You are only their victim when You let them win ☮️❤️

  • @vishalbabla99
    @vishalbabla99 Před 2 lety +22

Hmm...he has a point but, it seems like very high level fluff spiritual answer. People who deal with PTSD can't control events that trigger there trauma which send them back to the traumatic event. A certain sound, smell, or a sight can cause a person to experience the traumatic event all over again.
This is where the science and therapy is important. Sadhguru is correct that it is a memory.
Unfortunately, some people have experienced extreme traumatic events. He ought to advise for those individuals to still seek therapy. As therapy will teach you the skills to deal with the emotions/thoughts when the traumatic memory is triggered.
Also, some memories can be extremely painful. It is best to learn this skills in a controlled environment with a professional therapist.

The amount of trauma and the type of TRAUMA..all of it and every moment of it, don't overthink about it, when it replays voluntarily, make yourself observe it rather than living thru it again. Every person involved in it including YOU, forgive them and yourselves too , because the TRAUMA sometimes may include our stupidity.

I think he's entirely on the mark. It doesn't mean that if long-term abuses happened from a person's most formative years that they shouldn't go through therapy to understand their behavioral patterns and lack of control. It's about mastery, and as he said, reading the manual. Therapy can be a way to reading the manual and getting past those buried patterns that a person is not aware of or doesn't understand within themselves.

I was never thinking of my pain, accepting things as they were, but then I started to lose my memory out of nowhere and fall apart and had several breakdowns and then I had a last - a massive one - because I have never confronted and released all the past experiences that were causing all of it. So, I had to focus on the pain and I released it all, but it took a long long time. Now, I am well, but I don’t know how I would release tons of experiences in a flash. I was wise because of it before, but at the same time in too much pain I didn’t know how to release, despite my best efforts and attempts to find help… I don’t think that things are that easy… especially when it comes to complex trauma.

Figuring out how to deal with the negative emotions in constructively positive ways is part of the healing process. Wisdom recognizes wisdom, we hear the truth in what he says and recognize the profoundness of it. We have all the tools we need to live well off of great wisdom. May you and all who read this live well

I think Sadhguru was trying to say is that a woman has to face the fear, in the present.
It will always be a part of you either consciously, or subconsciously.
When someone goes through this type of emotional and physical trauma, the soul fractures.
Healing comes when you see it as an experience, without judgement.

I get what he is saying. At the same time he is not addressing the impact sexual assault has on the nervous system. Trauma which affects the brain, hence why you can have anxiety et, get triggered. If only it was as simple as he states. Yes nothing is happening now but impact can live on in your nervous system & body. Yes wise rather than wounded for sure. Healing the NS & body takes time.

It's a good piece of advice, but I suspect it's pretty much advanced for most people to embrace the present like that. To understand and embrace this, you have to be in advanced deep meditation and detach yourself from thought/ego identification. This level of understanding will be required if one wants to cure by living in the present. BUT...
If you can't forget and still are a materialist, maybe you should try epistemology... And a ton of psychologists, psychiatrists, and medicine before this. (nothing against materialists, I'm just mentioning another path. The goal here is to help each other right?).
Sometimes, I have the impression that Sadhguru forgets people are in different levels of understanding AND different beliefs (or not belief). And not everyone can translate and adapt things to their necessities.

You can not choose, you are wounded...being a child of alchocolic. Growing up Just with my father alchocolic, and then on 10 years moving with mum. How do you think someone feels when his roots, his root chakra is very bad. No foundation, broken family. As a child you dont know, you dont have knowledge - you were wounded you didnt have choice. Now when I realized from where all this wounds, i am trying to heal.

Unfortunate how we are as a society today. But now because we have someone to guide us in the right direction, I think there is value in working the way Sadhguru talks about here. Sucks, but its important to keep in mind that we still have a choice.

Just on the topic of letting go, look up the lyrics to a song called "The Grudge" by Tool. You don't have to like the band, or even listen. But I suspect when you read the words, the music may beckon to you to listen. It's rock, if you don't like it, maybe just try it. It's a powerful song about the weight of the burdens we carry, and about what it does to you, leading up to the solution. Find a way to let go. Be it seeking therapy, confronting those people, dealing with the issues in therapy, or whatever is the solution for you (most people need help because you can't just wish it away). Anyway that song really is quite powerful if you take the words to heart.

a lot of truth but you have to heal wounds. cant act like they’re not there… sometimes he’s comes off like “get over it and focus on now” i know that’s not his intent but we can’t forget you have to heal your inner child, heal wounds etc. so that we can really focus and enjoy the now
