- Napoli is one of the most popular pieces from famed cornet soloist and composer, Herman Bellstedt. A pioneer of solo cornet performance, Bellstedt performed with the famous bands of John Philip Sousa and Patrick Gilmore, sitting alongside another virtuoso of the times, Herbert L. Clarke.
This solo, collated and arranged by his student, Frank Simon, in 1932, is a theme and variations solo on the theme "Funiculi, Funicula" from Italian composer Luigi Denza. This setting has become a standard in both the trumpet and euphonium repertoire and is a favorite of many soloists because of its technical demonstration, light-hearted tunefulness, and well rounded virtuosic opportunities.
Performed live by Staff Sgt. Patrick Nyren and Federal Brass on May 14, 2020.

Bravo ! 👏👏👏👏👏👏 It is very rare to hear a solo euphonium player who has fully understood the soul of this instrument. Most of the time, they play much too loudly by not exploiting the soft and round sound of this instrument. However, if I may allow myself a criticism, you tend to dress the music too much in frills (in the second part). But it is the cute sin of brass players. 、It seems to me that you would gain by not deviating so much from the original score.
after buying 12 instruments most brass and wind you need 20 years to learn them
