Indian overpopulation and more graduates from CS/IT stream is threat to existing IT emoloyees. All students are focussing only on IT field, India has only 4-5 cities with IT companies.
South Indian wants to go abroad
Right everyone wants to go to IT like crazy, even 13-14 years old studying in school

@0:57 This statement looks fancy but i dont complete agreethe "AI would not take your job but someone who know AI will take their job" because without AI this someone would not be able to take others job. Also AI will make person more effective which means 1 person can do work of several person. Which means eventually AI is taking job.
People are going to age. The demographic dividend is not a fountain of youth.
Glad we are having real, healthy discussions on fallacies and disruptive scenarios.

This 40-45 period of your career is a tough phase where if you're not the one taking the decisions on redundancies, you're at the highest risk of being made redundant. Especially true in India with its abundant supply of younger talent in IT unfortunately!

I agree with speaker. There are people who create fear factor and they get fed on our FEAR.
Making a CRON Job in Linux was automation and still a goof automation. Setting up a SCHEDULED task in windows was a good way of automation.

It may sound harsh but the reality of IT industry is - Good work does not matter, rather it depends rapport with your boss. Oiling, buttering and of course luck are the main factors. A Senior guy with 20 years experience and earning 40LPA can be replaced easily with a guy earning 20 LPA. Now you decide would you like to keep the senior guy? This had got no relation with skill upgradation.
Great podcast. I am already experiencing the heat despite being really good at work. i learnt that be more political than working, only politics can save you from fired and not the work quality.

Great points, however I do not agree with Anshuman's view-point on Generative AI. In my humble veiew-point, Generative AI is as basic a revolution as electricity or printing press or Ineternet, if not more.
Do not over burden yourself in earning age. Save amap. Focus on needs and alternative instead of comfort and luxury. Leave for yourself and not for the society
The title is incorrect, the insights shared in video are helpful for everyone and not people above 40. thanks for such a great talk.

I have moved to solutioning role and finally decided to move out of service delivery considering at 40 + age can be helpful to stay valid in solutioning as solution architect/manager as compare to delivery role where not much options left for me to remain technical.
AI cannot generate test cases.
But AI can run those test cases.
Either automation or AI will reduce the number of people but cannot completely remove the workforce.

Government Of India and State Government should adopt AI. Otherwise files will be pending for ever and corruption will increase day by day
In the state of Andhra Pradesh, there is not a single work in Government sector you can get it done without Corruption.
AI to beat corruption, Fraud. AI should not be just for IT Sector working for projects (that are not India based). Make it local and impact the society

Excellent podcast. I always do the opposite of the Do's suggested by Anushuman. From 2024 let me do a hard reload and make small changes in career outlook.
Dismissing Generative AI as entertainment is very wrong. It's like someone back in 1998 calling the internet just a LAN at a large scale. It just shows inability to visualise the impact of a major change.
