There is no common travel area or agreement between UK and France . So what needed to be done was not allowed them entry in first place ,that isn't he issue, majority that gone to Ireland theirs to open up false 2nd claim once get that and successful,they will skip back to UK with new ID and set up 3rd claim..
Ireland and Britain have a CTA which France and UK do not. The issue is different obviously. If refugees were entering Ireland first and applying for asylum and then moved onto UK they can also be returned to Ireland. It is a two way agreement.

We have a returns plan with Ireland based on the Dubs agreement. It was kept after Brexit and is just between the UK and Ireland.
I suppose the thinking at the time would be that people might sneak into the UK via Ireland.

This government and the Labour opposition are not patriots, every British citizen has had enough, I feel particularly bad for our elderly who remember WW2 and lost family, friends, neighbours, homes. Then again, I fear for our chidren and grandchildren, the schools are full to bursting, the NHS is on its knees, waiting lists and GP appointments are ridiculously long and now hotels and homes are being occupied by non British citizens which taxpayers are funding with little to nothing in return.
Indeed, the children cannot be blamed for not knowing about what they have never been taught. Great-grandparents of wartime are almost all dead now, so they can't tell their grandchildren their stories.
