How Creighton's Big Three Can Win Them a Championship

- In this video, I take a look at college basketball's version of the Big 3. While we've seen the concept die out in recent years at the professional level, Creighton has kept it alive and well in the college ranks. With Trey Alexander, Baylor Scheierman, and Ryan Kalkbrenner, the Bluejays are the only team in America to have three guys each average over 17 points per game, and combined, the trio accounts for 66% of Creighton's scoring. This strategy is working though, as Creighton has emerged as one of the best teams in the country, and they have legitimate Final Four hopes as a result.

As a Creighton fan Kalkbrenner as always been my favorite but I'm having a blast watching Scheirman and Alexander this year. I know a lot of fans miss the old school bigs but I enjoy seeing a big that's as versatile as Kalkbrenner. We can rely on his post game to generate offense in a pinch, such a great roll guy, and now that he can shoot threes its gotten even better for our offense with him on the floor.

Excellent video. You may be underselling Ashworth a bit though. He’s a key piece with what he’s able to do on the floor. Creighton’s late season run really has come at the same time Ashworth started playing at a higher level
Thanks! And yeah Ashworth is probably in his own tier when it comes to Creighton's pieces. I just think that Big 3 has kinda separated itself nationally. But Ashworth second half of the season has been awesome.
@@BobbyDouglasBasketball definitely fair. Ashworth almost makes it a big four though because he kind of brings everything together with his shooting and playmaking offensively and his activity defensively.

Wow amazing the whole country is noticing Creighton . They have less than 7,000 students .
Creighton always sell out lol do you live in Omaha ?
Private Catholic Schools always shell out like Crazy for basketball. Villanova who won two Nattys in the 2010s has less than 7000. St Mary's, who is consistently a ranked team and a 5-10 seed in the Tournament, has less than 3000. Also, I'm from Omaha and the games are played in a massive arena that sells out when they play big teams. The program generates a lot of revenue so they can afford to have a high-quality program.
If Oregon didn't have four players out, including their backup center, point guard, who routinely scored ten to fifteen points per game, and a five star freshman, they could have won the game. It's too bad that Cousinard didn't make the basket at the end of regulation. There just wasn't enough gas in the tank. I love that team. They gave it all and played so well. After seeing how well they have played in the tournament with their current players, I am certain they could have won it all but it wasn't to be.
Can you do Illinois big 3. TS. Coleman, domask?
They are a super fun team to watch. I’d like to take them but they could have potentially have the hardest path in the tourney imo: Tennessee, Purdue, UK, UConn

@@BobbyDouglasBasketball they definitely have an extremely difficult path. As a ucla fan I’m even kinda worried about Akron, this is a team that we beat by just 4 in 2022 with a pretty stacked roster
@@224lando Akron scares me but I think Creighton has enough shooting to get past them. SC/Oregon doesn't scare me. Tennessee I just don't think has the offense outside of Knecht. That UCLA game was insane I can see why you're nervous hahaha
