- Its finally done! With a 2 step paint correction and some other cosmetic additions we bring the work on the 2008 Z06 to a close. She's come a long way from the blown up, dirty and cosmetically neglected corvette that she was 3 months ago.

Personally, in your line of work, I would try and find a good painter. Do a little barter action....maybe a wrenching favor in return for paint expertise.
For example that one scratch you tried to fill, me personally, I would have had that section locally painted and blended. Show paint shouldn't be the goal on a driver but having it be somewhere around a factory paint job is a decent target. Nice job on the detailing.

I have watched this series since you brought it home. Very impressed with the quality of work you put into the car and the fact that you actually did the work instead of having someone else do it. Great lucky break on the motor replacement and performance heads. I am working on my C6 2005 and am working on a similar black/red theme. Thanks for the tips and video recording of the work and transformation of your car.
Great job. Such a great car - can't believe you cheaped out on the side markers instead of getting the smoked lense laser lights. You got that vht shit so thick on there the light will barely be visible. Also - when something is that dirtly - try using a synthetic mat type claybar - you can rinse it clean over and over.

This is absolutely what a car like that deserves. I bought my C6 last summer and despite having only 24k miles, it needed some love. With the exception of the motor swap, I did much of this same work and it's nearly flawless now. I can understand the sense of pride that goes into everything you've done. Your car now shows off the lines of the widebody C6 so well and displays why it will be timeless.
You are the man!! You must be a grand master GM technician.
