My great uncles Reddy and Graham Parsonage bred both horses ridden by the Queen and President Reagan. The Queen rode Burmese and the President rode Centenial, both bred for the RCMP Musical Ride at Fort Walsh in southwestern Saskatchewan and given by them to the Queen. Burmese was the Queen's favourite horse and when she died in 1991 at the age of 29 she was buried at Windsor Castle, a rare honour. The Queen gave Centennial to Prince Charles and changed his name to Centenial with only one n. No one seems to know why. 🍁

They continue on towards Buckingham Palace waving to the thousands of cheering Britons; all is going well.
Suddenly the right rear horse lets fly with the most horrendous earth-shattering fart ever heard in the British Empire. The smell is atrocious! Both passengers in the carriage must use
handkerchiefs over their noses. The fart shakes the coach but the two heads of state do their best to ignore the incident.
The Queen turns to President Reagan : “Mr. President, please accept my regrets. I am sure you understand there are some things which even a queen cannot control.”
Reagan, always trying to be presidential,
replied : “Your Majesty, do not give the matter another thought. Until you mentioned it, I thought it was one of the horses.”

I was22 at the time and finishing up my 4 yr enlistment, we had so much to look forward to in those days, a strong commander in chief and an economy on the rise after the disastrous Jimmy carter, Reagan was feared and respected by our enemies and loved by the majority of Americans here at home, good times in a great decade , thank you and R I P Ronald Reagan

Contrast this to the very poor (and downright rude) showing made this past summer by the current occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
