  • Learn how to make take fresh coconuts and turn them into delicious yogurt. Economical, nutritious and delicious. The hardest part is obtaining the coconut, opening it and processing it. If you have access to coconut meat then this recipe is much easier. Blend a few ingredients, ferment or refrigerate. Enjoy the next day. It's thick in consistency like vegan Greek Yogurt. I love this and hope you do too! A little effort if start from scratch but worth it. Enjoy!
    Special THANK YOU to Gerald Clark for being featured, for opening the coconut AND for the delicious oatmeal! What a man!
    Big THANKS to Kim McPherson for requesting coconut yogurt! Yippee!

    for how long should I blended it? I tried for about 10 min with the blender, food processor, and still could not get the creamy consistency, it looks all grainy.

    • @sbaidoo25
      @sbaidoo25 Před 4 lety +1

      I think you need to use a fresher coconut because the older ones have harder coconut meat which becomes grainy when blended. Hope this helps.

      Yes the young coconuts are like jelly or gellish, they are so creamy. I also have a high powered blender.

  • @matthewariel547
    @matthewariel547 Před 4 lety +1

    hey idk if ur gonna answer this but, do we need a certain temperature to ferment? because i have seen people use a device to make the yoghurt on a certain temperature for fermenting, thanks!

    • @ChristaJClark
      @ChristaJClark  Před 4 lety

      Hi Matthew, ideally ferment it at 110° and 115°F/43° and 46°C, if you have the device it makes it that much easier. I've also made it without fermenting for a quick turn around and it is still very delicious. Hope that helps!

      @@ChristaJClark hi! thanks for replying, i recall in the video that u just leave it overnight, which method do u think is best? thanks

    • @solycdan6297
      @solycdan6297 Před 3 lety +1

      Yes, this was a question I was wondering about. I'm also wondering that if you did use the fermentation process that you need for making true yoghurt that the vingear would prevent the growth of beneficial bacteria from the probiotic capsules. But you should be able to test this. After making the first batch of yoghurt and fermenting it, then make the next batch of yoghurt by using two spoonfuls of your first yoghurt with the coconut milk but do not add probiotic powder. If this next batch doesn't turn into yoghurt after 8-12 hours at 115 then it would mean there were no live probiotic cultures in the first batch.

    @peek-ka-boom6017 Před 3 lety +1

    What's the rationale behind the vinegars?

  • @thelandsavior402
    @thelandsavior402 Před 2 lety +1

    Are probiotic necessary to make the fermentation process? Lol im confused cuz all other videos are adding that

    • @ChristaJClark
      @ChristaJClark  Před 2 lety +1

      They aren't necessary, it's kind of a "cheat" method to not have to ferment the proper duration to create the probiotics.

    Did you use any probiotics in this recipes? Or is it possible just by using acid from that vinergar?

    • @ChristaJClark
      @ChristaJClark  Před 4 lety

      I used 2 probiotic capsules however you could try it with the acid from the lemon/limes or vinegar. It would still be good.
