    Sorry to have missed you.
    So much riding up here.

Maybe we will catch a couple routes next year.
      Safe riding.

Great video. I recently bought a CB 500x to do this kind of riding- good to see it does it well. I have been down that road on a 4x4 truck % it was quite intimidating !

Mine has the Rally Raid Level 2 upgrade, but not the spoked wheels. I really like the RR suspension but the 500X would do well in this area with just the bash plate.
I would be more nervous in a 4x4.
The 500X with that beefed up suspension can do a great deal. Not sure if you have seen Jenny Morgan on the Rubicon Trail on youtube. Pretty amazing.
      Thanks for the comment.
Maybe see you out there, next year piecing together: Gang Ranch, High Bar, and my latest Seton Portage and High Line, then also out to gold bridge and Tyaughton Creek Rec Site

I’ve taken my cb500x over Pavilion and down to Kelly lake then over towards the ferry but never crossed . Seeing this trip I want to go again .There was a nice road to the right before you get to the twisty road down to Kelly lake and it takes you to cell towers at the top of the mountains , beautiful views there .

Thank you for the tip. I will have a look for it next time.
Hope you are enjoying for 500X. It turned out to be an ideal alternative for me.
If you see my Seton Portage - Highline Road video, I also noticed on Google afterwards there is a road that trends off the Seton Portage Road to the east that is something I will investigate next time I am out there.
Perhaps we will cross paths out there. It is fantastic.

The ferry is somewhat unique in that it is powered by the current. Cables keep it tracking across the river.

It was interesting watching the operator steer the boat for the crossing and the docking. He also had to watch upstream for potential stray logs coming down, that have to be avoided.
I believe his family had operated the ferry for many years. .

Nice one Doug, part of our world I've yet to experience, thanks

It is a very nice area for riding, albeit 800 km from home. There are many rides out there and as I continue learning I have several more routes.
The ones I did were extremely enjoyable for an average rider (me) in ideal conditions (dry).

On the road down from Cougar point in my F150 regular cab truck I had to do a couple of 3 point turns just to get around those switch-backs. It really is an incredible area of our province. I highly recommend everyone who likes this sort of thing to get out there and explore it.

Was your F150 a 4x4 or 2WD? Did you go up or down? Just curious.

    IMHO
That cut across to high bar rd is worth doing as it's a bit of a pass through a well tree area and pop out at that sign giving a 'Wow' effect as the view of the canyon opens up ....
Just saying, if anyone has been there before it's a bit better then coming from Jesmond for that reason .

That is great to know. I really enjoyed riding up it first not knowing what to expect but your description here is enough to convince me that could be the ultimate route.

Looks like the bike handled it easy. I’ve thought about moving to Canada (Kamloops maybe) from Washington.

    • @dougiverson4297
      @dougiverson4297  Před měsícem

Yes this was fine with the CB500X. It also has the Level 2 rally raid suspension upgrade.
Kamloops seems like a nice place with lots of activities not that far away.

Why go this fast…….its tough to bobble head, see the country……on a motorcycle……what did you miss ? Jus sayin 🫣

You make a very good point.
I was lucky, as I did pick up on the alternate route through dialogue and went back to ride it.
Lots of places, other than the switchbacks with the places for 3 point turns, you could not stop (up, down, narrow). I do wish I had flown my drone and sat down for a few minutes but might have missed the ferry crossing before it shut down for lunch.
The other complexity is, for the most part I am a: Type A personality, project manager, logistics and efficiency guy.
And riding alone you do not tend to stop as much and say, "wow, did you see that". But just two days ago, I rode a section of a trail and backtracked to re-ride it because it had an incredible illusion. Maybe my next video will have captured it.
Thanks though, I will try and settle in to a more relaxed pace. On my sport bikes, I would be speeding past Motels with swimming pools and bikers already there at 3PM. I still had another 4 hours of riding.
