I've found that attaching the star to a shield works better because you can leave it on your back and work as a makeshift lantern, and if you parry you still shoot the orbs of light!

You can deploy a Hover Stone by fusing it to a spear and then throwing it with R.
The neat part is that you can retrieve both the Hover Stone and the spear and fuse them together again and again without spending any more resources.

I use the dazzle fruit for stall enemies. If you are attacked by one or more skeletons at night throwing a df kills them all one shot
