I really enjoyed watching and learning your design techniques as well as the execution, the ways you spotlighted tiny important details and skipped ahead with the editing to move the project viewing more exciting as you approached the finishing touches. Really nice instruction pacing for myself. Thank you for showing the ‘whole enchilada ‘ here in Texas.

    Hi Nick,
I am a huge fan of your work, and do look forward to your postings.
I'm so glad that you decided to give voice overs, and include more detail in your explanation of the process, the tips that you post in text form are awesome, but could you possibly consider extending the time that they are on the screen, as I am dyslexic, and find it hard to read them in the time you give.
    Kind regards
    Rob 😀

Wes, U have excelled yourself here my friend.. These are beautiful pieces of furniture. The Cherry wood is lovely. I like the grain patterns on this wood. Is that something that's always on Cherry? I love the look of this wood for furniture. Oak and Walnut too. I like Red Oak for building tables or all sizes. It's perfect for it I think but this Cherry ur using here is really nice lumber Wes.
These are 2 of the nicest pieces of furniture I've seen in a ,long time. Keep up the great work pal..

An aluminum yard stick works really well for drawing curved lines too, if you don't have a piece of flexible wood lying around.

The natural color of the wood looks perfect without stain.
Can I ask you how much that Cherry wood cost to make 1 of those tables?
    Thanks!

    • @WoodworkingWithWes
      @WoodworkingWithWes  Před 11 měsíci

There was a total of about 15 board feet of cherry with each table. The cost would be determined on the price of cherry in your area. Thanks for watching, Wes

It's mind numbing to watch a seemingly intelligent man run his thumb right next to the blade with a perfectly good push stick lying there. Otherwise nice build but I have to stop watching 😢

I have to agree. I don’t want to be the safety police, but sometimes I cringe watching people playing fast and loose with table saw safety. It must be mentioned for the sake of the newbies watching.
It is my belief that if we are going to instruct others about woodworking, this behooves us to demonstrate adequate safety procedures.
It all works out fine for years until that one day when your attention is diverted. In a split second, you’ve lost a finger.
Also, guys, if you’re going to work with lacquer, it’s imperative to wear a face mask. Lacquer is nasty, nasty stuff, and extremely bad to breathe in.
We who are in the business of teaching others must do better in demonstrating safety. The new guys just don’t know, and it’s up to us teachers to inform them.

Wes makes this like a professional cabinet maker would. His processes have been refined and adjusted to be able to take his work to the market which is something professionals have to take into account. The end product is beautiful and will last for decades to come.

    • @MixingGBP

Yeah, I think he is using techniques that I see on the builder grade kitchen cabinets that came with my house...heavy use of staples and nails. I would use a dowel jig as much as possible, if not for the entire table assembly. A jig like the Dowelmax would ensure assembly is accurate and repeatable with no chance for wandering air nails that could go thru your thumb. 🤕
Despite that, the result of that natural cherry finish is good looking!
