    How to make pizza:
    Recipe from: / thegallerybackyardbbq
    For the Dough:
    3c all-purpose "00" flour
    1 1/4c lukewarm water
    2-4 Tbs honey
    1 TSP sugar
    2-4 Tbs olive oil
    1 packet active dry yeast
    For the Toppings:
    HEB Pizza Sauce (do NOT sauce the outer 1")
    Shredded Mozzarella
    Thick Cut Pepperoni
    Garnish with Basil (optional)
    FINAL THOUGHTS:
    When it comes to pizza ovens, it's really hard to beat this price point (around $100) that being said, if you really want to get into making pizza I would look into spending a little more to get something that is propane equipped. While wood pellets seem like they would provide a better "wood fired" flavor they run so hot that you really don't get a "smoky" pizza and it seems like once this unit reaches max temp, the pellets are fully consumed so you have to "refuel" thing thing constantly. I was pretty frustrated using this oven up until I tasted the pizza, which to my surprise was actually really good. So can you get the job done for $100? Sure. But...if you think this is something you really want to get into, I would highly suggest paying a little more for something that has a propane attachment.

    Second video I've seen unboxing a Vevor. Why not wait till you've finished the learning curve then make the vid? My Vevor has a perforated steel base as well as a stone so I'm wondering when I should use that??

    I have one of these, its junk, the pellet tray is too small and needs a hopper. The pellets burn way to quickly and its hard to keep the temp up.

  • @lovelylisawarriorqueen7923

    Does it have a smokey flavor like with other pellet grills?

    • @GrillSergeant
      @GrillSergeant  Před rokem

      A hint but cooking at that high of a temp you really don't pick up any flavor from the pellets. That's why I would be open to getting a propane version. Then you don't have to worry about keeping the temp because the pellets go out really quick.

    I bought this one. I cannot get the stone to a very high temp. The highest I got was 525* after 30min of preheat and that is with flames shooting out the chimney!
    I even cut a 3/8" cold rolled steel slab, polished it and seasoned it for 3 hours at 800* in a propane grill. I can get the metal slab to 585* but impossible to get it to 800* - 1000*
    After much research, I believe the problem is the burn box. It is too small! It does not hold enough material.
    Any input, ideas or tricks would be fantastic!

      I found out that when you have the front door open the temperature goes higher and faster so the trick might be to let enough air in ;)

    • @918scott4
      @918scott4 Před 2 měsíci

      @@abrahamoconc.1544 I tried that. It helped make it hotter in there but the plate did not get any hotter In fact it cooled off faster once the fire went down a little bit. I made some big modifications to it and posted it on CZcams. Now I have no problems at all.

    The Ooni pizza oven is way better than this easy bake oven. You get what you pay for with this one😂

    • @GrillSergeant
      @GrillSergeant  Před rokem +1

      You can’t beat the price BUT that being said I would pay more for an oven with a propane attachment. 🍻

    • @Steverz32
      @Steverz32 Před rokem +1

      @@GrillSergeant true the price was great & our Ooni cost a ton more, but my wife can start the propane oven & when it’s up to temp it cooks fast. Her dad built a wood fire pizza oven in his backyard. But getting it going and keeping it up to temperature sucks. Keep up your good work brother 👍

    Learn how to properly stretch dough. A rolling pin expels all the CO2 gas from the dough. There are enough videos on CZcams to show you how, but remember, some are by people who know what they are doing, and others by idiots who think they know what they are doing. If you are doing American style pizza you want a high gluten bread flour. For Neopolitan you use double zero (00) flour which is very fine. Basil added prior to the bake crisps and shrivels, so add it once the pie comes out of the oven.

    You don't roll pizza dough dude, you strech the pizza by hand. You just killed the crust (wasted 24 -36 hours for waiting the dough to get airy). But giving that you are American i forgive you :)
