Every time I watch this I shed a tear what a performance.
Everybody gets on Mike Love for his tambourine playing but, I give him credit since he’s really a classically trained cowbellist.
This seemed so serious...then the last word just cracked me up!
And dancer
Someone please teach Stamos the Texas Shuffle.
Felder carrying this group.
I was drinking tonight and I fell into this..... what joy it gives me to see a guitar god liked felder doing Stevie Ray Vaughan is just heartwarming
Don Felder is one of the greatest guitar players regardless of genre!
Mike Love's tambourine was a little flat.🙄😳😲😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
Great tambourine, Mike!
You wasn't invited
Nice groove John Stamos! Well done sir
Stamos kills it....
Why all the negative comments wtf these dudes are just having a blast Jammin geeze
Exactly. Everyone on the hate Mike bandwagon. Most people just follow
You can’t please people now days, I really liked it
@@TSTatum exactly
Makes me really hope there’s more footage of Stamos playing music! He clearly loves performing, and I’m sure he put a lot of effort into it when he was in that band I can’t seem to find yet.
Jesus, Stamos has got got hands and some groove!!
Solid groover-.....keep playing John-
Yep, he's a legit good drummer. He's not a celebrity who also plays drums, he's a flat out drummer and also celebrity. A lot of times the "celebrity drummer" won't be pro, but the groove he's playing is A+. I started playing drums as a kid, and remember seeing him mimic drums on Full House, and I was like "oh man, he can actually play"
What I love about this? Felder did not cop one of Steve's licks! Made it his own. Good lesson in there for me.
3:52 for the sweetest riff you'll ever hear!
🙄😳😲😂😂🤣🤣 Yeah..... wrong key, Don.😂😂🤣🤣
🤣 it happens, even with the best. How you recover it matters most
Don does justice to the gig also the base is just about right
It's nothing intricate but Stamos holds his own Uncle Jesse could fukin play
The stand out was definitely Mike Love on the tambourine.
Lmao
😄
Epic comment!!!!😁😎👍😂😂🤣🤣
Really??? Have you ever played tambourine? How long did you train ? Have you ever suffered from tambourine hand ? Until you can answer yes to all of the questions I wouldn’t say anything. Lol
He'd probably agree with you.
Ozzy on the kongas XD
Talk bout devil drumming😇
Sensacional!
I prefer the 'fat sound' of a LP over a Strat sound, great job Don Felder and friends!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Everyone has a preference. I personally don't think SRV's tone could ever be beat. I used to have a Les Paul and I promised I'd keep it forever. Then I got a Strat and no longer cared for my Gibson. Sold it lol. I wish I kept it though because I do like it for certain songs.
@@SixStringSlinger1 I totally agree with you. Eric Johnson also plays a start and his sound is beyond words.
Fielder is fantastic. Miss you Don.
Uh... He’s not dead. Lol
Full line up: Don Felder, Mike Love, John Stamos, John Cowsill, Scott Totten, Randell Kirsch, and Gary Griifin....ROCKIN'!!!! Yeah, baby! :)
Austin powers
So many people love to hate on Mike Love's musical career, but the Beach Boys would have never lasted if it weren't for him. Thanks to his showmanship, leadership, and commitment to the band, the beach boys have become an American institution for over 60 years.
Oh Wow.... This is Cool... F**kin Don Ripped it Up.. And John.. Not Bad at All Dawwgg ☺☺😎💯
So why was Mike Love there? Oh yeah, same comment for 50 years
Didn’t Mike get a songwriting credit for this song too?
The bass was sounding like the speaker w the s about to blow...I guess it was cool for Don an professional to just get up do this is cool...he must really miss playing...all in all if i were there I'd be dra king so it would be ok...good job
At least I can hear it on my crappy IPad speakers! Ha ha...yeah must be punishing hearing it live...
Finger's Felder still can bend those notes! And still does today! Shame on henley$
wtf is this bass sound...
I know right ? I don't want to be a jerk because they are having fun and everybody else was in the pocket but the bass started playing the Doors when they started and went to Mars on the rest and Kudos to everybody else for keeping it together while the bass player was on Jupiter LOL Sorry but even Felder gave a look like WTF is that ? Just saying it was that noticeable .
For real, and not only that, who on earth is responsible for putting it so damn high in the mix!
Shit ( the bass sound I mean)
im pretty sure its either a direct line in the back of the amp to the sound board for mixing of this vid or hes just straight up IN the PA. dude suffers from a SEVERE lack of groove for a bass player also
@@jonwanrocks 👍
Guitar, drums, bass, keys, congas, tambourine... it's a real full house
I see what you did there! 👀
Get out
This rocks.....but when SRV played it he was the only guitarist on stage, not two like this performance, and SRV rocked it even harder than this!
Love it
I want to see mike love get mad at someone lol
Just add Brian Wilson
Love the Slingerlands John, plus John you can really play at pro level not like other actors that say they can play. Back in the day you could of played with Elvis
Ozzy getting down on those bongo's
It would be so much better if the bass player actually played the right bass line. The bass line walks in this tune. But I am pleasantly surprised at John Stamos playing. He's got some nice groove!
or if he had some kind of technique at ALL. and a much more quiet amp
i wish everything was right in this, it makes me annoyed how poor they did srv from the moment i didn’t hear the shuffle on guitar
Never heard of the full house before. Are they from the late 80s-early 90s? Maybe consist of 8 or 9 people hence the name
When the sound man is a bass-head 🤣
Ozzy on congas
You just can’t top SRV’s version.
Does Don Felder resemble Skip Bayless?
Don Felder would do well to steer clear of the blues, especially with a Les Paul that sounds like a gnat in a paper bag. This must have made Stevie turn in his grave, but I'm pretty sure that humongous clam at 3:54 flipped him right-side up again.
thank you
Santa visited here once. The island of misfit toys.
Wowee that bass player is a chump
Dons vocals are great on this, but that bass is drowning everything else out in the mix at least on this recording.
The bass player is right on point. The flat tone is probably due to taking the signal off an aux out on the back of the amp and very poor EQ when processing the final mix.
whos playing bass?
Is that ozzy osbourne on the congas
Bass sound like a synth.....da hell??
The only Baptist church version ever...
#SquinchedButCheeks
SRV IS SPINNING IN HIS GRAVE HEARING THIS BUTCHER JOB!!!!! MEH AT BEST
I see Mike Love gets credit just for showing up and doing the bare minimum. Pretty much the same as always.
Stamos did a good job on drums! Felder nice job on vocals. Guitar playing nice not Steve’s sound though.
Not quite srv
Stamos lays down a nice relaxed vibe. The bass is HORRID...what is going on here? Worst bass tone ever...Sears special discount bass and amp for Christmas from '75
Jeff Porcaro Groove I agree, and I'm a singing drummer. I suck at bass, but when I get that low E riff on "Make it Funky" (James Brown), my raggedy Squire bass sounds a lot better than this. A LOT of low end. If you don't pop a breaker, you're doing it wrong :) (3db bass=twice the power).
Kidding.
PS, worship Porcaro. I heard Hold the line without a single fill yesterday on CZcams. That rumble was Jeff spinning in his grave...lol. I'd flub it badly, but at least I wouldn't ignore the fills. :)
Damn how tf they get Joe Biden on the keys ozzy Osborne on the silent bongos AND John stamos on the drums!?!?
Crap. Any band with Mike Love in it is playing with a disadvantage right off the top......
Da hell is mike love doin
the bass sounds horrible
Well for starters the bass is turned up louder than Don's guitar that shouldn't be especially on the guitar solos!
75DrummerBoy I like a loud bass. Think James Brown. But he's right, tone's not good at all. I have a crappy Squire that sounds a lot better.
I, like most drummers, think the world is a better place with fewer guitar solos...lol.
Whats sad is this bassist doesn't know the part at all. Its a walking line and he is riding eighth notes lilw they're going out of style. His tone sucks too. I think picking on the blues should be illegal...
Completely wrong bass and an insult to the great Tommy Shannon!!!
Great song, well played but with way too much bass line.
As a bass player, I cringed at the sound of this bass!
Mike was on point with that tambourine.
Lol
SRV on a Les Paul????? Nah, aint the same no matter who it is, even Don Felder.
How embarrassing for Mike.
Warms the heart don’t it?
He should be off meditating somewhere far away. Mike who.
Is this a high school cover band at their first ever gig? No? You're right, most high school cover bands are better the first time they pick up the instruments.
what the hell has Mike Love ever contributed to anything?
Shut the fuck up idiot! His name is on some of the greatest songs ever! What the fuck have you done?!
Mike made Beach Boys! He is still responsible for Beach Boys existing today! A world without Beach Boys would suck!
If your going to cover Stevie, use a Strat!
It's not so much the LP, I've heard this song played well with a variety of guitars, but that horrid fizzy tone.
What the fuck is mike love doing lol
terrible bass playin
Needs COWBELL
The guitar tone just doesn't sound right. Too used to Vaughn's Strat
Bass is drunk
Blues isn't felders sweet spot
this is pretty mundane, simple music and guitar playing, it's been done time and time again, not bad though
Steve is turning in his grave, wtf
let's hear you play it idiot
Felder's is a legend. Too bad Stamos does not know how to play a triplet blues shuffle. He should learn how from listening to Chris Layton's recordings.
Don't like to comment negatively but the Bassist kills the whole groove .. The tune requires a nice walking bass line to create the groove for the Lead Guitar to Solo ..
You lost me at Mike Love...
Mike Love needs to sit down. Terrible bass.
Thomas Hulsey why? Is playing fine!
Turn the bass down in the mix.. yikes..
Felder has a good voice I most say...having said that ..
Stamos looks uncomfortable on complete drum kit..
Odd mix ..
Pretty cool, BUT,
Get it right JIMMY REED owns this all day long. SRV was nowhere near the first to cover it.
ummmm. you know stevie WROTE this song right?
As a pro bass player that plays in an Eagles tribute. I just want to apologize past tense to Don Felder for the absolute shit bass player they stuck you with. Mike Love is bad enough but that bass player makes this SRV classic and most played song sound like avant garde bad technique meets the blues. The only high point besides Felder's playing is surprisingly John Stamos's nice pocket. Good job bro laying on that fucking hand grenade the bass player threw into the song. Way to take one up the arse for the team and keep steaming ahead!
Also how does this happen? How is it that nobody on the engineering team said "Hey! Tha bass player is not pro, he also wants to show off all of his skilz to Felder so he can stop working at Guitar Center." Really? Fucking hell! How is this on YT still? If I was Felder, I'd have this shit removed, and destroyed. Then I'd hire Stamos, because that guy actually has chops.
sounded like he was plugged in direct, also im pretty sure a cardinal sin is not knowing the song. i dont even mean knowing the licks. i mean the structure. ignoring the groove that john cut in this one and fingers' felder's awful tone and licks
Drummer needs to learn how to play a shuffle. Just saying.
thats not the right bass line
Wow!.....not in a good way.
Nope
It's funny how John Stamos, an actor, makes no attempt to hide his reactions to Felder's singing. I think Don is a really talented guitar player, but when it comes to singing..... he's not very good.
mickysgirl4ever 1:24, going to learn how to make a meme, just to use the Stamos "Billy Idol with gas" scowl...
He’s not acting here. He’s immersed in the music.
Bass sounds horrible
That’s a no for me. With all due respect.
FFS, who mixed this mess? The bass is way to loud and the tone is awful.
Turn that bass down, too prominent for such a weak player
I have a pet elephant that sounds better than that bass guitar. Sweet love of God.
John's acting skills are as good as his drumming...hmmm
