- The Icelandic Gambit is perceived to be quite an aggressive opening that progresses from the Scandinavian and though not very popular today, it has it merits. This clip is short and straight to the point; it familiarises you with this opening to avoid any nasty surprises. Be willing to hand over a few pawns here and there and in many cases, one or even two minor pieces to gain rapid development that will surprise any opponent.

Loved this video. Can I suggest you cover the hippo defense?
heyy hefalump11.. I have not seen this message until now. for sure something to consider.. am adding it to the list of things to do.
Love your vidz sir
A bit more elaboration would have been great specifically at 5:28 after Bb4+ from black and Bd2 by white, is Qxb4+ best black can do? There's always discovery checks if bishop on e6 moves but your line seems to be the best route but it would've been nice if you had covered it, but I think other channels, at minimum thechesswebsite covers those variations. Good video and game.
Hi front331.. you are right.. but I wanted to keep this video short..In order to fully understand the Icelandic Gambit, you also need to have some awareness of the Marshall and other lines of play..
Great video!! Could you please tell a bit about what to do if white declines the gambit?
white is just worse, and usually greedy players who play 3. c4 are materialists who won't decline winning material. plus you have a psychological advantage if they defend a pawn just to give it back. You've already induced a mental weakness in your opponent
Very nice work dude
Make one on wing gambit
You watched it already that fast? am impressed.. and thank you.
Hi Shubham Raj... there are so many Wing Gambits..anyone in particular or shall I go for a 'fuller' version?
