@@insaneindamembrane7961 None of us will
Hell yes do a follow up on that Ford
@Travis Costanza ABSOLUTELY
I'm pretty sure with THAT much smoke comin out of an engine that powerful he could do at least a few followup videos, I for one don't believe for a second it didn't just have a bad injector, not with thAt much blowby
@@cmusic52 it was a cold start 401 ford that had been setting sounded like real good compression once she warms up a little bit that smoke will go away the Ford tractor engine is a very efficient running engine and it is normal for them to have that color smoke on cold startup everyday for the first few minutes you got to remember she's Turbo and the feels going to be turned up kind of like the tractors you see at the tractor pulls it's the same 401 that's used in all those tractors ford 8000 on up they just turn the fuel up add turbos and a inner coolers very unlikely it has a single problem with any injectors unless there was a failed fuel filter issue or maybe a dry seal in the turbo that would take a minute to seal back up. Ford didn't build these things to malfunction they built them to run forever once in awhile The Sims piston type injector pump will get a stuck delivery valve from running crappy fuel for a cheap fuel filter it's a simple fix a little penetrating oil under the cover plate on the side of the injector pump sometimes a little prying action manipulation with a screwdriver and your back up and running normal we put thousands and thousands and thousands of hours on these engines without ever touching anything other than water pumps and starters and alternators are other tractors in different colors we are changing injectors all the time especially the pencil type but these old Ford Lucas injectors are an English design and they just work even if this tractor set for 20 years in a building as long as the motor wasn't set up she'd fire right up
@@charliewhitney3494 Lucas injectors are the best, basically bullet proof design they just keep working forever.

I'm not a farm equipment guy but dam she looks good for 700 bucks, man you got a steal on this deal
leahcim thgirw I am. It’s INSANE, especially for a tractor in that horsepower range
@@nellsonstout7001 Similar comps on-line start at $3k for a broke one, up to $16k for low hours. He got a great deal. Apparently you gotta watch the oil pressure, though.
vasky22 a nearby farmer who teaches at the high school I went to farms around 400 acres with one, it’s treated him well
These older machines are rugged.
I just looked one up and the for sale price is 14k. I fully understand it may not be worth that amount, but 700 hundo is a steal. One a side note, Westen please grow a mullet. Thanks.
Quickly looked up USA listings for Ford TW30 and found prices from @ $9,000 to $22,000 - so you definitely got some "elbow room" for your fixin' up!
Older equipment being brought back to life and will outlast the New equipment I call that a steal.
I’m not even into this kinda stuff but I find it satisfying to watch people who know what they are doing do what they do.
Yes, please keep us posted on this beast! I love the sound of the turbo. I had a few chances to drive a Ford 8000 tractor many years ago, even without the turbo, it was a treat. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us.
Please make a time laps video of you guys cleaning the tractor, that would really butter my biscuit
You got your wish.

The bottle of ketchup 😂

Wow, good find for $700! Where do you find these deals?

Pls answer
Golden horseshoe
Ya I paid €12000 fir my 6810
No kidding, I’d be all over a deal like that
Yes, definitely more on this tractor. Want to see it pressure washed and fully operational! Cool tractor rescue! More!
$700?! I never see deals like that anymore. Everyone "knows what they got" nowadays.
Probably the old lady was putting the heat on him to get rid of his junk
in my country
we have a salvage/junk market which has two parts 2 miles apart
the first part has the metal scrap yard where we found a fucking mountain of h36 light ballasts
we asked the guy how much for one of these ?
he said it's heavy , i'll take 30$ for it
we said ok well take 5 of them
he asked whats that ?
we said idk we are looking for the metal inside it
we walked away with 5 ballasts that cost 700$ *each (used )*
in the second part where youd find company junk that range from network eqipment and test instruments to heavy ass duty pumps and motors
we bought a water testing instrument that costs $1000
for 40$
these deals are unbelievable
You believe them man???
Never believe a man with a beard
1993 dodge Cummins, 500k miles runs great, not much rust. 22,500. No low ballers I know what I got. 😂😂😂
I'd definitely like to see more of that ol Ford. Love hearing stories about how folks acquire stuff.
Love to see how the tractor turns out after you work on it. Sure started nicely. I love to see old “dead” machines come back to life.
Worked for a dairy farmer in northern Richland county WI that had a TW5 and a 8700 with a TW20 engine. Both great tractors to operate, good cabs, good PTO power. They just need more weight to do heavy tillage. He paid over $12000 for each of his over 20 years ago and still use them both yet. You will be happy with yours.
First the Belarus, than the Caterpillar, and now a Ford tracror. Bob is going to get jealous. Keep up the good work!
Yippee ky aye: we need more of the blue mule and the D7 dozer there Westen
MORE DOZER VIDS AND THIS TRACTOR HAS POTENTIAL...................................TRACTOR PULLS ANYONE?????????
7 out of 10...no drama, no cursing, no banging, jumping up and down, no skinned knuckles, and no crying. Wish it were mine. Well done.
That old Ford tractor was a sweet deal. I would love a couple of videos about fixing it up and seeing it all cleaned up and working the fields again.
Dang man, the front weights alone are worth $700!
I would like to see more of this tractor. Maybe a satisfying pressure washing video? 🤔

Just spent the afternoon mowing 20 acres of wheat stubble with a TW25 pulling a 12 foot Bush Hog. Like music listening to 4 hours of that old diesel.
Got to love an old tractor. The dual wheels have got to be worth the price alone.
Great buy
first you got an old Cat, now you have an old Ford. this is my type of content
and before he got the cat he got a belarus
Anything to make content for CZcams
Well, don't forget that "3-cornered Mustang." That'll be fun to play with when it's finished.
That's a great tractor and a "smoking" deal! Looks in really good shape with some easy fixes. The old 6.6 was a good engine just gutless but will run forever. I'd take that thing in a heart beat!
6.6 is the New Holland Diesel also the 7.8 L too.
Ford arn't gutless
That is a heck of a deal normally they go for 9,000 to 14,000
definitely need a follow up video on this tractor. I wish I could find a Steal of a Deal like this one. Enjoyed the video. Thank you
I haven’t seen that new film “The Tractor” yet, but I’ve seen the trailer.
Boom Boom!!!!!
Was "The Tractor" on the trailer???? ;^)
I definitely want to see a follow up on this tractor. I've been wanting to get a project tractor or project truck to rebuild myself but everyone is a farmer near me so they go for pretty high lol
35 to 40 years from now you won't be able to do this with a 2019 tractor. If you do it will cost a small fortune and make Einstein pull his hair out dealing with the unnecessary computer crap.
1SixpenceFan planned obsolescence just like new fridges that have unnecessary circuit boards that fail in year1-6... Management and corporate “ethics” are not related to product longevity or serviceability. Pre-1998 automobiles are the way to go.
@@thecam0073
Totally agree currently drive a 97 ranger, have a 2000 f250 7.3, also a 93 F350 7.3idi n/a 5spd
@@thecam0073 -- That's not really a thing. Companies care more about materials costs these days and with EPA restrictions (yes, even on refrigerators) on top of that, they don't over-engineer things to last any more. Now, it's all abput making the lightest, most energy or fuel efficient product that pollutes the least. It dies at the day the warranty expires because that warranty period is the amount of time they CAN warranty the product before a certain percentage will die, as opposed to the myth that the product is designed to die right as it is going out of warranty.
@@kender1412 you've basically contradicted yourself 😂
@@hkrsescort Absolutely not. The truth is MUCH more nuanced than "planned obsolescence". Maybe you mis-read or maybe you don't understand how engineering works. We don't design a car to last a certain number of years and then die. We design cars to meet the governmental regulations/restrictions, consumer expectations/desires, and finally, to be safe/durable. It is mostly EPA fuel efficiency/emissions regulations and the consumer's desire not to be bent over and ass raped at the pump that makes vehicles only last a couple hundred thousand miles. You can't put a big beefy iron block with cylinder walls 5 times as thick as they need to be and expect to get 25-45 mpg...or even properly cool itself to hit the target for NOx emissions. It doesn't work that way. They're too heavy and there is too much material holding heat for the water to be able to carry it away. You're lucky to see 15 mpg out of the older tanks with engines that last forever and can be bored and rebuilt a million times when they finally DO die. I suppose we COULD go with a titanium alloy but would you REALLY want to pay for that?
I'm a parts guy for Peterbilt, but in my past life, I was a New Holland (i.e. Ford Tractor) parts guy. Good find! I'd strip out the sheet metal and thoroughly clean out those rats nests, though, because that is how fires start, and if she burns, you'll have a heck of a time finding replacement parts as some of that is obsolete. Those 6 cal tractors were sure good ones, and they are worth making right. The transmission and power steering oils need dumped, then put in real 134G Ambra oil from New Holland. Anything that's universal won't lubricate the clutch and brake pads in it, and you'd end up splitting the tractor to replace the brakes. Much cheaper to just use the proper oil. Also use Ambra 15w40 engine oil, it is a true tractor oil that doesn't have the additives pulled out to meet EPA standards like what Rotella had to do. Replace the power steering round filter, the two hydraulic filters, and the engine oil filter, and new fuel filters. Good luck on her! That injector should be an easy fix, too, just make sure your rubber boots are good on the return lines, and be cautious with the fuel lines, they are obsolete as well.
With your style and enthusiasm Westen, you would make a 1985 Yugo rebuild exciting. Keep 'em coming.
Man I need to know where to go to find these auctions and stuff. Help a guy out here.
agricultural equipment auctions or copart
David Brammer google
You got a hell of a deal on that. That TW30 is strong, you can pull just about anything you want with that beast! I had a 4X4 TW25 and it was a beast! Congrats!
$700 is unbelievable ! GREAT buy !!!
Yes thats so cool keep all the old machines running good job
one of the best youtubers out there. thanks westin!
I never doubt that old ford would fire right up. I love old ford tractors they just don't die. The first ford tractor I every saw was a late 80s 3000 ford 3 cylinder diesel own by my great uncle which he had bought new. By the time I started driving when I was sixteen it was only firing on two cylinders but still ran like nothing was wrong.
Wow! Fired up in two seconds and it's ready to go back to work!
Absolutely awesome! $700 for a running diesel SOLD! Good stuff boss keep it up.
For sure do a follow up. I live in a big city and dont know shit about tractors but am intrigued
Let see the work being done on the tractor... We all realize that not all but but starting part and then the finish product.
That is a fine looking tractor ... in the UK you would be lucky to get one like that for under $2000 ... so you got yourself a great deal. It`s the real deal .. a proper Barn Find.
Go ahead and post some more on the old ford tractor love them old dinosaurs

Wow! Cheaper to own!!! Ahhh! I want it. Hmm. Love to fix it up and get it running! Hmm!

Blue smoke it's mean your tractor is burning oil. If it was injector, then smoke would be less. Just take off intercooler pipe and watch if it dry inside, that means you have biger problem.
You just can't beat a good Ford tractor, love your content, can't wait to see more.
