Today I found your channel and love your content! Please accept my vote for a video about altering or tailoring a Polo shirt, baggy Chinos and Oxford/Dress shirts. It would be so helpful to us Men who are new to sewing. 😊

Awesome tutorial. Awesome filming. I wish I was as articulate as you are.

That was interesting. I love sewing industrial sewing machines in action. I love my Juki Coverstitch machine. It took a bit of fiddling to get the tensions correct but as you mentioned once it’s set I rarely have to change it and when I do it is a slight change. It’s not an essential machine for a home sewist, but is really great for knitwear.

I watched this video last night and have been wanting a coverstitch machine for a long time. I finally broke down last night after watching your video and ordered a Juki MCS 1600.
Unfortunately, American affiliate links don't work for me here in Canada, and I didn't even see your link in the description before ordering - just noticed it now as I rewatched the video today. But I'm thrilled to see that I ended up ordering one that you recommend, quite by coincidence!

Thank you sooo much! They don't teach this stuff in schools! This information is very useful. It's hard to learn how to use industrial machines if you're not in the industry. Once again thank you for your tutorials!!

This really is one of my favorite topics to cover, I did go to school for this and we did not cover this then either so I feel responsible to add to the ‘CZcams university’

love this video. it's so hard to find clear information about this stuff. i have a video suggestion for you... i would love to see you change the threads so they're each a different color so i can see how the stitch it makes weaves together on the fabric.

A topic request: would you please make a video on fitting and altering off-the-rack structured shirts for women with different bust sizes from the norm? My understanding is that many shirts are designed with a B cup in mind because it looks good on a hanger, even though the average in the US is DD. I'm a narrow-shouldered D-cup, so whenever I find something that fits well in one place, it usually doesn't in another. Thanks from a new subscriber and person who occasionally alters and makes clothes and costumes, looking forward to learning much from your channel!

Your last cover stitch video incited me to purchase an exclusive cover stitch machine, even though I have a combination serger that you mentioned. I’m so thrilled to have it in my sewing repertoire and even though I’m exclusively a home sewist, I’m excited to have that extra level of professionalism.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience and knowledge with us, your videos are so helpful and inspiring.

I wasn’t even in the market for a cover stitch machine, but I had the opportunity to buy a barely used Juki MCS 1500 for a very low price so I jumped at it. Thanks for covering (no pun intended 😅) this topic!

Thank you for the video. I have an industrial and I always struggle with the tension using different fabrics. I will put some of your methods to work. 😊

Thank you so much. I just had my Siruba coverstitch delivered last week and had so many questions which you have answered. I have owned 2 domestic coverstitch machines and haven't been entirely happy with them. Considering the cost of domestic machines, if you have the room, go for the industrial every time

Nice video! I got a Husqvarna Viking computerized combo-machine. It helps me with all the settings, and since I don’t sew a lot (just for me and my family), it’s a good solution. And it is really not hard or difficult to thread or change from serger to coverstitch.

This was so useful! It's silly, but I never would have thought about tying off new thread onto the old to thread the machine. Makes things so much easier if everything is working. I'm now also curious if I have lint and debris buildup in the tension plate on my regular straight stitch domestic machine.

Brilliant video. Must be a real sewing geek. Love these machines. I have one of each but domestic level. How I'd love to use an industrial version. I wonder if your rewind trick works on my domestic cover stitch? It's a Janome cover pro ....

If you have a needle break, do you replace all of your needles? Or just change all the needles when replacing them for a project?
