Its impressive and amazing to me that outboard engines have progressed so far, and have become so reliable, that they are a viable alternative for a propulsion choice on a 6,500 mile journey.

Am curious if you considered the C-Dory for your trip. Your boat seems to be an exact replica of one of their models...
Their boat the rosborough 246 is a step up from the c-dory 25. The c-dory is a amazing boat but it is a more affordable option. The fittings and materials are a slightly lesser quality. The rosborough is designed a bit tougher and with more customizable options. There is more interior space also. Even though they are the same length and beam the rosborough weighs in at 2,000-3,000lbs more than the c-dory and has a 6 inch deeper draft. Both are awesome boats.

Sounds like time for Tom and Jody to make the trip to Panama and up the West Coast to Moss Landing California, or San Felipe inside coast of Baja.... spend a winter there and return....
Rick, San Felipe is SO cool. It was my choice of vacation spots in the 70's & 80's.
We would always check on the "Clam man" on our way to the Motel del Coronado. The manager would let us use his boat to cruise the coast & check out the harbor after he heard that my brother & I used pool floats to do it. The harbor is shark central due to the stuff thrown overboard.
Fun times!!

That's a pretty amazing trip, and one i'd like to take myself. What's your opinion on the Rosborough boat, any pros and cons? I think living in it for 6,500 miles would make you's the foremost authority on them. lol What type of costs in regards to fuel, marinas, operating costs did it run for this trip?

My wife and I have been looking at ranger tugs. Looks very comparable
The trouble they had in the Neuse river was pig feces sticking to the sides of their tiny vessel. So much that it cut their overall speed by a full 90%
