Expect the Unexpected in Barnsley

Barnsley’s new £200m retail and leisure complex The Glass Works opened early September this year and is now home to retail giants TK Maxx, Next and Sports Direct. A Cineworld is scheduled to open early 2022 and Superbowl UK launched its 12-lane ten-pin bowling complex in the town centre in October 2021.
It’s all part of Barnsley Metropolitan Council’s long-term aim to revitalise Barnsley town centre, which earlier in the year saw the opening of a thriving refurbished market, state-of-the-art Library @ the Lightbox and Market Kitchen around the newly improved public realm.
