I travelled around in my mid twenties and One main lesson I learned the hard way was, that any great people that you meet, you will eventually part company with them. It's a constantly rolling road of quick change that pulls the rug from under you when you are young and inexperienced with life.

People are jealous of what they don't have. Ignore them. They always complain. 😊

im 52 and I don't have any desire to travel anymore, its such a bummer and im not sure why this is happening to me. if ive become addicted to safety and comfort or is it fear or is it that I feel it wont give me what I actually want anymore.

maybe that's a sign you don't want to travel, which is cool

I totally relate. A few years ago, my dream was to get a remote job and become a full-time digital nomad, traveling the world indefinitely. Nowadays, I can't imagine my life without a solid structure, including a fixed home and the community where I grew up.
Now, I have a stable home base and spend a few months each year exploring different destinations. This balance has been fantastic for me.

This video really hit home. I want to travel more but I like the idea of having a home base. You've giving me something to think about in maybe trying to find a remote or more flexible job. Also, I like that it's not all or nothing when it comes to wanting to travel more versus wanting to have also have a home.

There is just one rule to follow while traveling: you never quit traveling. Now there are so many jobs where one has to move places, like military, construction, education, aviation etc. I think it becomes generally acceptable to move around. I remember that one friend told me that her father was working at a construction and he was building a highspeed railway line. So, every year she had to go to a new school depending on how far that railway line was built. It takes some toll. For kids then it is hard to build friendships while moving that much.

Hey David you should read the Prodigal Son story in the Bible. It talks about a son who travels and he squanders all his money, he ends up finding his peace back home with his family.
I related so much to this story and im sure a lot of others can relate to it too.

Very interesting insight. I love traveling, but I do wonder if I would really enjoy it every day. I don't have lots of friends, but I have a few and I also value my interactions with them.

Man this video really hit home. No pun intended haha. I’ve been travelling for the past 6 months with my partner but we are reaching a point now where we feel it’s enough.
I’ve been working a bit throughout the travel but you’ve touched on something fundamental here; that balance is key.
My job allows me to work remotely and I feel fortunate to have that luxury.
Now the next challenge is finding a more sustainable balance between travel and home.
Thanks for the video, I found it to be aspirational and aim to achieve what you have at some point in the future.

I wasn't ready to stop traveling, but covid made that decision for me. It completely ruined my life. I spent years living in a vehicle, until I was ready to finally travel overseas, full time. Sold almost everything I owned and lived out of a 34-liter backpack. I made it 14 months overseas and was making huge strides, until the world fell apart and I was forced to return to a life I didn't want, and that didn't want me. Everything has been complete shit since May 2020. I went from having a purpose, a direction and an identity, to having nothing but debt, chaos and suffocation.
