@@deckofcards87 uh.... Even rechargeables didn't help much. They last just for 1-3 hours.
Even it's a handheld, they were used 99% of the time at home. Guess what the electricity-cable is for? And when did you EVER play longer than 1 hour a day outside? I remember the 90s with BMX, skateboard and mountainbike being outside. We met friends, we didnt sit alone in the corner in the sunshine..... but I remember watching TV on my GameGear when the others were sleeping. Lights and colors was, what GameBoy-kids dreamed of.
@@MrZillasI would spend 6 hours playing video games. 6 hours playing with friends and 6 hours family time. I definitely played longer than an hour.

fun fact the game gear needed six batteries to work and only had 3 buttons and a d pad and only had a shorter battery life which is why many people in the 1990s bought a gameboy and gameboy color
This is actually wrong. The GameBoy came first on the market, so kids got GameBoy. When the GameGear came, parents did not want to buy a second system. On top, SEGA did cost much more, so parents bought the cheaper system. The GameBoy Color came years later, maybe around 1999 or something.
The original gameboy still works but game gear doesn't.

@@AlexParr Agreed. Maybe it's because I'm more of a Sega gamer, but I personally prefer the Game Gear over the Game Boy because of the Game Gear's Bright Beautiful Color, its brighter backlit screen, and its line of Sega games.
@Einsatzgruppen B And yet, for all it's technical extravagance(which ate batteries like crazy), its library was poor. For ever good Game Gear game(Most of which were just ported from the Master System), the Game Boy had twenty better games. I struggle to name twelve Game Gear games that are good as something you'll find on the Game Boy.
