How to Unlock Secret Ending: You must find all Chalices in the game. There are 20 Chalices total.

After getting all 20 Chalices, replay the final boss fight. Then you get an additional scene at the end where Dan gets introduced into the Hall of Heroes!

I like how both endings work well for Dan. If he gets into the Hall of Heroes, he rightfully earned it and is celebrated as such. If he doesn't, he is completely okay with it. No one will know the truth about his adventure, and they will keep believing that fake story. Dan doesn't care, because he proved it to himself that he is a hero, and that's more than enough for him.
I like how during the whole game, the Heroes encouraged Daniel to keep going. Everyone knows he was a hero of the kingdom out of lies, but they never threw it in his face that he was a fake hero. It's like they all knew he had what it takes to be a Hero from the beginning.
Next stop, Victorian London.
*I cried a little towards the end. Dan finally takes his place in the stars above. This masterpiece threw me back 20yrs!*

My assumption is. If this does well by the end of the year they might remaster the 2nd one. It'll be interesting to see how Palethorn looks in a remaster

I played it when it came out in 2000. Still enjoyed it as much as the first one.

Certainly one of the very best endings I can remember in years, fantastic music to go with the visuals, and the 100% ending with the zoom out during the party to the stars as the music swells is just brilliant. Got the plat for it earlier having taken a long break from it for nearly 2 years for some reason.

Still think that Resurrection had the best ending: having everyone cheer Dan right when he enter and with triumphant music really give you the feel of being recognized as a hero.

Soul6 Agreed. In all honesty, I think nostalgia held back the remake A LOT!
george2p I wouldn’t go that far. The weakest part of the game is the cutscenes (the characters seem to shift from animation to obvious idle poses and it comes off very stiff) but that absolutely doesn’t reflect the rest of it. Resurrection is an objectively worse game overall but has great intro/ending cutscenes (weird art style and models aside)
PaRappa Rapper That's a good way of putting it. Gameplay wise, resurrection was just bad, but it made up with the updated voice lines and better VA quality, but it did ruin some of the charm of the characters, while making others better. I honestly prefer Zarok in resurrection, same goes for death and king Peregrin.
Seeing the rushed VA from the original, with such awesome animation quality in this remake, really hurts the scenes. That said, the original gameplay and by extension the remake, is leagues beyond resurrection.
george2p Yeaah, its really the biggest gripe I have at the moment besides frame rate tbh. Even little things like the sounds of zarok shuffling through metal pots and zapping himself is missing while he was searching for his spell

EDIT: Okay, nvm. Had to compare with the PS1 version. That INCREDIBLY TINY HEAD didn't let me see the body. I thought I had to find his skull/portrait or something.
PS1's was much clearer.
So you only have to get all the chalice's for this ending , you dont have to do all the souls? only did four of the souls cause i wanted to see the regular ending first but i had every Chalice and got this ending
The sequel needs a remake now
Maybe it's a nitpick but one of the best things about the original ending was when they showed the sun rising and Dan getting weaker as the spell that raised the dead dissipates, and they didn't include that in this version...

The difference is if you collect the chalices or not the chalices prove that dan is a hero bit without them only he knows of his deeds and when he goes to sleep he stays asleep instead of going on to the hall of heros

Well he died a hero on his second death, as a completely decomposed body with a single eyeball miraculously intact.
I like the old ending from ps1 because it had beautiful music though.

Isnt it kinda sucky that dan has to remain the way he was when he became a true hero as in like no skinnn or even a jaw my poor boi even though he won the recognition he deserves he cant also have his old bod back even in the after life lol hopefully he can still enjoy the food and drink even if he cant taste it or chew

@@soul6733 what I mean is, in the original game the sun returns when Zarok gets defeated, because his evernight spell (the one he casted before possessing the villagers) broke, but in the remake it's still nighttime when Dan returns at his crypt

@@OranG_01 Same here man I played the original medievil countless time's but I like medievil ressurection more because the it's way different than the original/ remake not just because of the graphic but it's way too bland once you played medievil ressurection. It's just a boomer thing that they have to be serious, mad, hate and blaming everybody all the time.

For me, both music and humour where amazing, especially the remake song of the hilltop mausoleum.. one of my favourite songs (if not my favourite)
The sad truth is that resurrection is gonna stay overshadowed by the original since everyone is just trashing it because it tried to take a new turn for the game. Resurrection is almost a game on its own in the case of the improvements and changes it made to the original title. It was so full of character while still containing that darkish tone of the game.
Whatever everyone says, resurrection will always have a special place in my heart :))

It's possible, because it happened when Sony got exclusive rights to Street Fighter 5 for PS4.
